Really cute accommodation run by locals, which offers an excellent location and parking (despite the surcharge is very convenient). The rooms have old-school decoration, that gives them an extra charm, the have everything you could need, including AC/heating depending on the weather. By the way the bathrooms look recently renovated. The hospitality of the staff is incredible. I can definitely...

I try to support small proprietors whenever possible, and felt choosing this hotel has allowed me to do that. It is lovingly run by Mr. and Mrs. Santos who speak just enough English to ensure a smooth stay. I asked for a warm room because I was sick with a horrible cold. I got just that, a sunny room with...

Pros: very convenient location right by train station. Rooms were clean, we felt safe. Free wifi. Cons: Very basic accomodations, service a little iffy, location is very loud at night. Note for gay couples: this is the only place we stayed in Portugal where we felt the fact we are a lesbian couple was even noted upon check-in. Nothing threatening...

On camino Portuguese. Hotel is in a very good location, central and close to Estacio Nova. English spoken. I was very fortunate to be assigned room no. 14 which has sole acess to a large court yard. Very friendly staff. Budget hotel.

I stayed here for three nights and before I knew it, this charming guesthouse felt like home. Each of the staff members were polite, friendly and professional, some of whom went out of their way to point out several places to visit that are off the 'tourist radar.' My private room with ensuite bath was cozy and full of heavy,...

Another good budget non-chain European hotel. Fine if that's the category you know you are looking for; not American chain-hotel style, of course. Room was fine, rather nice old wood furniture; quiet at night.. Bathroom was clean and functional, hot water supply good. Wifi worked well. Good location in lower old town, 100 yards from the train station. Breakfast was...

This family hotel is pleasant and situated well. The owners do everything to do a service to us, including to go(take) up our suitcases to the floor and to get a cheap car park. Rooms(Chambers) are pleasant and the street is very quiet because pedestrian.

Central, close to the train station. Very quiet. Small rooms, but nice with old fashion furniture. Good value (at the least at the rates they offer offseason). I didn't stay for the breakfast because the only public transport to Bucaco/Luso in the morning is the 7:35 am bus (rural public transport is very poor in Portugal).

You can't go wrong with Hotel Domus, its a stone's throw from the train station, clean, quiet, safe. A lovely family run hotel in the center of the city. The room was very economical and much nicer then i expected for the price. Good breakfast too. I would highly recommend this place. Cheers!
