Overall, disaster. Staff was nice but I cannot rate this "hostel" higher. Dirty, incredibly cold, we were warmer outside... I would not recommend and I would not come back. Cheap but I wouldn't stay there for free again.

Simply one of the worst experience in my life. The hostel is completely dirty particularly the kitchen and the toilet!. The kitchen is small with bad smell all day! The diretion is lazy and even we complained several times, the cleaning staff came more or less never! terrible WIFI too!

Clean Bedrooms with private bath, they lack some organisation but everything went well, the location is not in the centre but then again Coimbra is not a big city so it's a good option even if you don't have a car. I've enjoyed my stay and I recommend it.

If you like finding a dirty, slummiest, noisy and expensive place the Be Coimbra Hostel is perfect for you !! The room was hot, dirty, drab whith broken door and windows situated in a horrible smoke stinkiing building. The proposed dinner in the wine bar of the owner arrived by take away and it was cold end bad prepared. For breakfast you have a voucher for a cafè (the oldest and famous in town) but you only get a cappuccino and croissant standing ( special treatment for Coimbra Hostel guests!) Impossible to sleep till 4 am for the music coming from the bar wine of the owner under our windows. 10.30 am we went to the reception to complain but it was close and no one there.

no check in desk, no organization at all. they didn't get our reservation, so they sent us to the only room available, in another hostel from the same chain, away from the city centre. you're given a coupon for your breakfast in "the most emblematic cafe" in town. yeah, right... you'll have a glass of milk with a pastry or with a toast.
