This is a really excellent property with beautiful grounf Do although you have to cross over the river to get to it, it is worthwhile The rooms are very nice and the rest was really wonderful We walked the grounds and they were extensive. Lots to do
Absolutely charming hotel, atmospheric with beautiful gardens. The Pedro and Ines legend along side the font of love and font of tears made this wonderful, peaceful house a place of fairytales and magic. If you are not staying in one of the lovely garden rooms or suites, make sure you visit the Italian courtyard and Japanese garden. Highly recommend!
From the gorgeous drive that takes you towards this beautiful hotel, through the outstanding greeting at check-in and helpful staff, to the comfortable rooms, this oasis of calm was everything we hoped it would be. Lovely grounds, including a driving range and pitch and putt (most unexpected in a hotel on the fringe of the city centre), along with a super outdoor pool, which is complemented by an indoor pool and gym in the modern addition to the traditional old original buildings. The atmosphere is welcoming and discreet, and attentive staff deal with every request superbly. The public areas of the hotel are fascinating, as there is a real sense of history throughout the building. The room was comfortable and well-equipped in a traditional fashion, with an excellently comfortable bed, and adequate space for an additional bed for our son. Excellent breakfasts with all bases covered (maybe except for peanut butter!). Couldn't fault the place, ideally positioned for an easy walk into a fascinating city, and we were sad to leave.…
Beautifull place for relaxing, walking distance to Coimbra, We would advise it highly. Friendly people, great garden, very Nice pool. Breakfast outside. The Quinta is a quiet plac and we suggest you go there. Rooms very convenient and neat
We spent two nights in this beautiful hotel recently. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish . The welcome at reception was warm and friendly ...our car was parked for us and our luggage taken to our room. We had booked a suite , and were delighted to be given the "Kings Suite " which more than lived up to it's title, with spacious bedroom and bathroom , a luxurious sitting room and an outside terrace where we had breakfast on both mornings. The surroundings were truly lovely , but it was the staff that made the visit special. They were professional and attentive, and were eager to make everything as comfortable as possible. We dined in the Gastrobar on our first night and our host there , Augusto, made sure we had a pleasant evening. He was on hand to recommend items from the menu, and to ensure our glasses were full. We had a delicious meal of Angus steak burger and some tapas with a local wine , and we finished our evening with drinks at the bar . On our second evening we reserved a table in the Arcadas restaurant. A lively atmosphere ... with almost all tables full. The menu was imaginative and full of unusual flavours. All beautifully presented and served . An extensive wine list completed the meal . It is rare to find such a beautiful oasis of peace and greenery so close to the city. This , combined with excellent service and food makes a return visit a must !…
