Building is old, but clean and well maintained. The room and bed were comfortable. The location is close to the river and tourist sites and felt safe at all times. We did not have much interaction with the owner, but he was pleasant when we checked in. We felt our stay was more than adequate for the cost.
Pensao Flor the Coimbra is probably the most charming stay I've ever had. Perfectly located, small cozy rooms, you can literally smell the long heritage of the guesthouse once you step in. Add to that a super welcoming host, who's tips for restaurants and dishes were pure gold. Highly recommended!
You have got you stay here when in Coimbra! Jorge & Maria are the best hosts with an incredibly historic family property...they've had it over 200 years! It's in a great location. Quiet side street, easy to find, close to everything, squeaky clean, kitchen access, balcony access over quaint street....I could go on & on! We stayed 3 nights. Jorge gives great recommendations on what to see & where to go. We've been walking the Camino for 2+ weeks from Lisbon and this is by far the best stay so far! You have got to stay here! Thx Jorge & Maria for an amazing stop!!
We were greeted by Zen, an appropriately named dog with whom we fell in love. His human, Georhe, was also pretty wonderful and made us feel like family. We wold be happy to stay again. Glad we stayed. That is all I have to say and resent typing more
A great little guest house steeped in history. The owners are very friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. Good value for money in a perfect location. The old railway station is just around the corner, the historic old town/student quarter all around.
