we were 6 took soups, lapas and fish. kids had meat. Lapas too spiced up "sopa de peixe" took much time to serve. wine is totally overpriced no expressos at the end some excuse about loosing electricity... the same one to produce the typical tax evasion excuse well , overall a banal experience. but pricy experience which at the end...

This restaurant should not be missed. The fish is super fresh and cooked the way you like. House wine is very good and reasonable. Service is fantastic. My wife had the grilled Cod which was cooked the same delicious way every time. They even let us substitute veggies for the potatoes. Closed on Wednesday.

Im writing this so that other people might avoid the disappointment. Im really so surprised to read the good reviews, and we went on our first night partially b/c of the Trip Advisor recommendation posted in the window - which I will never completely trust again.. The location is great - the food was really awful. Very bland with what...

We were recommended to eat here for the Sopa do Mar, which is a shrimp bisque soup that is served in a carved out round bread bowl. The restaurant is upstairs from the hotel entrance and has a lovely harbor view with Monte Brasil as well. The waiters are formally dressed and offer impeccable service. We ordered a pitcher of...

We were looking for a place to eat in the city. We happened across the Hotel Beira Mar. the restaurant is in the back of the hotel on the first floor over looking the Marina and Harbor. I had the white fish plate which was exceptional. The views and food make this a must visit place.

We ate here for Sunday lunch after services at the cathedral. Lots of others had the idea so service was really slow. However, the fish cream soup served in a beautiful "bread bowl" made up for the overwhelmed staff who were working diligently to handle the crowd. The setting overlooks the harbor area and is just lovely.

The hotel is located near in front of the beach with a excellent view. The rooms are quite basic but clean and with a good price. Good breakfast with several options. The main problem of this hotel is the noise.

We went here for dinner one night because we liked the location overlooking the marina. It was a nice setting, but the service was slow and the food wasn't very good. My fish was so "fishy" that I couldn't eat it, and my husband's beef was no different than in any other place we had been. The one notable thing...

We enjoyed our stay. The food for breakfast for us was fine. The dinner was excellent! Our room was quite clean even though not spacious. Clean linens everyday. The view was terrific of the bay and forts. The smallish beach was footsteps away. We added 3 wool blankets to the bed for me. It is a mattress on a slab...
