Room was very comfortable, clean and beds were nice.Air con worked well when all doors and windows are shuts properly.

Bathroom was spacious and hot water.

Breakfast was excellent with lots of variety 👌

Staff were fine but not over welcoming with greetings. Paulo was helpful though.

No outside pool as shown in pictures, this was a let down for us as we wanted to swim and relax by pool with sun.

Indoor looked okay but didn't use it .

Location was a 15 min walk to restaurants but uber is available too.

Beaches were busy and okay. Seen lots of nicer beaches in Europe 🇪🇺

Ciao

My boyfriend and i stayed here in july we were wondering what the hell we were going to find after the off putting remarks on here!!!
The hotel was what we expected it to be basic but clean..
The food was poor but we were on holiday! Who wants to eat in when there are so many fab resturants in town, dont you people want to experience a taste of Portugal!!
The hotel staff were above average in my opinion always smiling and prepared to help..
And as for the dogs barking... no different than being at home with the windows open on a hot evening.........
All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would go back to the Mirachoro sol again.

Was a bit apprehensive going to this hotel after reading some of the reviews on this site, but on the whole we were more than happy and would certainly go back. This small hotel although fairly basic, was nice, clean and the staff were very friendly and ever keen to help. The food was served buffet style and there were normally 4 or 5 choices of main course which was enough to satisfy most tastes. The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area surrounded by houses and villas. This was where we experienced our only problem. Our room was to the back of the hotel overlooking these villas, all of which seem to have a guard dog patrolling the garden, and of course if one of them started barking all the rest joined in, which wasn't too bad except at 6 o'clock in the morning!. The swimming pool is located in a walled area 60 yards from the hotel. It was a really nice area, small, not too busy with no problems getting a lounger. There was a small bar in the corner which also served sandwiches and toasties. It was ideal for just chilling out. The hotel is a bit away from the shorefront of portimao and the livelier resort of playa de rocha but is only 4/5 euros to get to both these areas. I would have no hesitation recommending this if you a looking for a nice clean, friendly, no frills hotel.

I would give 5 stars out of 5 to the staff, very friendly, very helpful and efficient. However every thing else i would give one star at most. Beds felt like as if they were made out of rocks, not a single night of good sleep. Our reservation said every room has a balcony and a refrigerator, our's had neither,we had to ask separately for the balcony and luckily we got one but no luck for the refrigerator,so we ended up drinking warm water while at our room. We didn't try the inside pool but it looked very sad. The breakfast is basically scrambled eggs, ham, some cheese, fruits, and some pastries, the coffee is machine coffee and it was bad. No outside pool but we were told so in advance. I was at 2 stars hotels before, and this one by far the most expensive. I had better sleep and better breakfast at 2 stars hotels also. I feel bad to write this review because the staff at the hotel are super friendly, and the city is beautiful.

Several friends on motorcycles arrived very late, after twelve at night, only to spend the night and leave very early, with full parking in the square in front of the hotel. I parked a motorcycle on the entrance ramp very close to the garden. , without occupying the sidewalk and leaving a fairly wide passage on the access ramp to the hotel, when we were checking in they told us to get the motorcycle out of there. We parked it in a small space between two cars in the front plaza of the hotel, and when we went back to reception, they told us that it couldn't be there either because it was an emergency exit. I complained with some annoyance that there was no sign, neither vertical nor horizontal, to let me know that you couldn't park there either, and we asked if there were any other restrictions since they let us park, take out the suitcases, and then they told us the refusal, so the man from Reception apologized for not notifying us, since they have many surveillance cameras, but the other person at reception, with a cocky attitude, told us that there was no longer a room for us.
As there is no better way to go, we found another much better hotel, in Carvoeiro, and even a little cheaper, which will be the one we will visit on future visits to the area, since the Portimao Center, never again.

Clean honest hotel in its facilities. Don't expect luxury and you will be satisfied.
The Hotel was not full, so I had a more boutique hotel experience. I stayed in the top floors, so I had a view over to the sunrise which was great.
About the staff, they are just perfect. From Front Desk, to the cleaning, to the breakfast staff, everyone was perfect. They even had good pillows, so... You get the point.
It's a 2 star hotel with a 5 star staff ready to help with what you need.
Will visit again with no doubt.

For a 2 star hotel, and after reading the reviews, this really is a very good 2star accomodation, yes dogs do bark, but this can happen anywhere, it is also not near a beach, at least the hotel do put on a curtesy bus which is very prompt, but has a tendency to run early. The staff if treated properly are very eager to please and friendly. The food is buffet style, adequate, and very palatable. I have had worse food in a 4* than here. The pool, although not in the middle of the hotel is a very pleasant place to relax. In fact the only complaint I have is that some of the "guests" only seemed to come to complain, be obstrocolous, and make things unpleasant for other people in the hotel. Fortunately in the minority.

My husband and I have been in this hotel 3 times and for a two star hotel it is excellent, the people that work there are so friendly, the food is great the surroundings are ok for us, quit, lots of local bars and restaurants, a gypsi market, a large shopping mall, a free bus to Portimao centre and the beach.
There is entertainment almost every night, and if you want more of that you go to Praia the Rocha.
It's a very good cheap, friendly hotel, and Alexif you read this you are a great manager and a great friend.

My wife and I stayed there for 11 days. Asked for a high room-got one at front-room 412.Clean,basic,plenty of room,balcony,safe,telly-good comfortable beds but a bit squeaky. Hotel was generally quiet. Staff always very helpful and pleasant. Food for the money was excellent value-equal to food in hotels with more stars. The downside is it's position. You are at the edge of the town and an evening stroll is quite a trek to the delights of the town. However the taxis are really cheap ;5euros to Praia da Rocha for example and the hotel also runs a free bus to the beach. We would definitely recommend this hotel to any one who need to work to a budget-they will be more than satisfied as it is really excellent value for money.
We had a car, which proved to very useful and enabled us to explore this beautiful region of Portugal, but be very wary of Portugese road markings(practically non-existent) and Portugese drivers-they are a litle cavalier in their driving style ot say the least! The beaches are superb and there are more than enough to satisfy whatever your needs are, whether you want all facilities or remote lonely unspoilt wildness-it's all there. Inland the Monchique region is also well worth visiting.

Located in the lovely port town of Portimao, this hotel is sweet and modern. The hotel staff are great and it's located in the center of town, away from all the tourists. We found that having a car gave us the freedom to travel all over the region without any problems, and the hotel was well located for this. The look of place was really a 3* although they only have a 2* rating. the breakfast was bad, but apart from that we loved every minute. Reccomend it for anyone who is looking to go to Potugal without bumping into holiday makers.
Looks much better then the photo's they show online.
