We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The two Signature rooms we booked for our family were incredibly clean, spacious, and airy, each with a small balcony.
Despite some reviews mentioning the breakfast wasn’t great, we found it to be excellent with a wide variety of choices, including continental and full English options (buffet style). It did get busy at times, but it wasn’t a major issue.
The pool area was lovely and mostly quiet, as many guests preferred the local beaches, which are plentiful and within walking distance. The hotel provides towels with a €30 deposit per person, which you can change as often as needed.
There are a few areas for improvement. One of our rooms had poor Wi-Fi, only working near the door, despite reporting this issue a couple of times. Not a major issue and perhaps seen as a blessing for some! Additionally, there is no restaurant on-site, although snacks and drinks are available during the day. This wasn’t a major problem as there are plenty of dining options nearby, but having a restaurant at the hotel would be a nice bonus for occasional convenience.
Overall, we had a fantastic time and would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, spacious rooms, and great location.

As we spoke, we had an issue with the access point near your room and it was required to swap this unit. We are waiting its arrival to swap it and rectify this occurence. Lovely hotel with a luxurious feel. I stayed with my family for a hiking trip. The beds were very comfortable, the pillows were not too hard or soft, and the air conditioning worked in every room. Each room is provided with a Delta Q coffee machine and an empty mini fridge. The wifi is good and the TVs are smart with many tv channels. You get a lovely view from the balcony as well. The staff are very attentive with coffee and water refilled daily for every room (much to my surprise after I bought more coffee!). The breakfast is a standard buffet with fresh orange juice (a must try). I was even provided a vegan breakfast every day, which was very welcome as I am used to scrounging through whatever is vegan at a buffet. The location is a short walk from the promenade but it's also very easy to order a bolt/uber to nearby towns. There is a swimming pool and a massaging available but I didn't partake in these.
Overall, a very lovely hotel and I will definitely be booking a stay here again when I come back to Portimao.

This hotel is fantastic! Me and my partner had a very relaxing stay here at the start of October. The hotel is exceptionally clean in all areas. The maids attended to our room every day, changing the bedding and leaving fresh drinking water. The hotel is new, so the rooms are decorated stylishly, giving it a luxury feel. The breakfast was great, serving a variety each morning. The location of the hotel is perfect. Not too far from the bars and restaurants and also a two minute walk to the beautiful Praia da Rocha beach. The only small issue I could find was the lack of sunbeds. This didn’t affect our stay as we visited out of season, but I could see how this could be become a problem in summer. I’d also recommend going down for breakfast before 9am as one morning we had to queue up and wait for a table to become available. This was around a 10 minute wait.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a package vacation. We were on the first floor, our room faced the street. Fortunately, it was off season otherwise the noise would have been brutal. The balcony is pretty much on the street and very small too. Not very useful. It felt very safe. The room was small but comfortable, Excellent bedding, comfortable mattress and pillows. Spotless clean. The bathroom too. Make sure to use the floor mat in the bathroom, the floor is very slippery when wet. Hangers in the closet are placed back to front not side to side, which makes it cumbersome to use. The coffee maker in the room is good enough and the fridge tiny but did the trick. I used to make tea (with a teabag not the tea provided by the hotel-capsules like the coffee ones) Staff were very helpful and pleasant. They speak good English and were always ready to help. Good breakfast. The breakfast room is small and I imagine it would be crowded during high season. We always found a table and food at 9 AM. Only one coffee machine, a bit of a line up. Gluten free buns and muffin were available if requested. Individually wrapped and warmed up before serving. The woman attending the breakfast room was very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, I had a bad cold and one morning I preferred to have breakfast in the room. She made sure I had my GF bun and muffin for my husband to bring into the room. There is a swimming pool but was a bit cold during our stay so we did not use it. We used the luggage room for a few hours before the transfer to the train station. We were very comfortable in Rochavau. Thank you Rochavau staff. Will return. Recommended.

Newly rebuilt Rochavau hotel is as you would expect for a hotel that’s only been re opened for a few months, absolutely spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
I stayed in the original Rochavau in the early 1980’s and returning to this beautiful location 40 years later was certainly not a disappointing experience. This in my opinion is one of the most stunningly natural parts of the Algarve and the local Vau beach restaurants and bars are excellent and still inexpensive.
Staff at the hotel couldn’t be more friendly and helpful.
During our stay the hotel was very sparsely occupied and as a result very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast is a little bit limited in terms of choice but the food was good quality and personally I have no complaints.
The pool area does lack a bar which I understand they need a licence for and this would be a good addition but the restaurant staff will bring drinks out to the pool or outside seating areas.
We had a wonderful week in one of the Algarve's most beautiful spots and we will definitely be back in 2024.

We had a wonderful stay at Rochavau Hotel! The staff were very helpful and service minded. They helped us book airport transfer at a very reasonable price, both to and from the hotel. Rochavau Hotel was very clean and well taken care of. The hotel offers large and comfortable beach towels for rent (they can be changed daily), at a reasonable deposit. The breakfast had both hot and cold alternatives, as well as fruit and pastries. At breakfast there were lactose and gluten free options (ciabatta and muffins) upon request. Unfortunately there were no gluten free snacks / bread available from the snack / pool bar after 10 am (except non-alcoholic daiquiris). The hotel is close to the beach (3-4 minutes walk), and there are a couple of really tasty, local restaurants right outside the hotel’s main entrance. The hotel does not have a gym or fitness center, but there are at least two nice gyms nearby. We would absolutely recommend!

We are very happy with our stay at the Rochavau Hotel. We were very well received. The room allocated to us was very noisy and very exposed to electrical antennas. A lovely host offered us another room and we were very, very good. The hotel is ideally located, close to the beach and really comfortable. In the top !!! maybe the breakfast room could be bigger. A big thank you and we highly recommend Rochavau and we will come back with joy . We are very satisfied with our hotel at the Rochavau Hotel. Fomos muito bem recebidos. An experience to repeat! The staff is extremely attentive, friendly and highly professional: they just don’t meet the needs of customers if they can’t. The hotel has a very "clean" and modern design and this is noted from the quality of the infrastructure to the impeccable cleanliness of the rooms. Breakfast is very good, varied and is readily reposted if something is missing. The location is fantastic as it is just a hundred meters from the access to Amado beach and is surrounded by great restaurants. Congratulations to all RochaVau Hotel staff. To return, no doubt!!
