The villa was immaculate and spacious. We stayed for a month and it is easily the most comfortable place that we have ever stayed at. The kitchen has everything including dishwasher and washing mc/drier. Rooms were large with ample storage.

We had a 10 day stay at the Fairvews complex and were in a 2 bed apartment on the 1st floor. The apartment was amazing and the shared pool was fantastic. Never any problems with getting a sunbed or even into the pool as even with the 50+ apartments sharing the pool, it was always quiet. The kids pool is heated, and the main 15 meter pool warms up throughout the day. The area is well maintained and serviced.

For the accommodation, the only issues we had were that the shower door in the ensuite was broken and did not close properly, we had a cockroach one evening (but that was dealt with quickly) and while it was cleaned once a week that happened on day 8 of our stay. We looked out over the 7th hole of the golf course and it was a very quiet spot during the day. We did hear music from the local bars at night until about 1am, but its wind direction dependent and you ignore it after awhile.

There are loads of things to do close by, but the use of a car is necessary as there is nothing onsite for evening entertainment etc. Lagos is only 10 minutes away, and there are loads of water parks etc near by.

Would definitely return there in the future.

Somo mixed feelings, quickly dissipated into uter déception.
Staff seems friendly, except on arrival a lady in reception asking credit card "because if you brake something you have to pay". Exacly like that. Felt like entering a camping or a one star pension, in a bad neighbourhood.
They call this a 5 star hotel. Never, ever, in my whole life I saw something like this. I wont even rateit a 4 star. A 3 star is more than enough.
Worst experience of all: if you have children, and obviously need to use the swimming pools, you will expect hygiene. Forget it. In this hotel they allow fully dressed people, in street clothes to bathe in the pool. Never again.

The most incredible thing happened to me today. Having paid over €2000 per year for 6 or 7 years to effectively play golf once or twice a week I would under most circumstances be classed as a good customer.

Just recently the Boavista management took a decision (presumably to cut costs) to start opening the catering facilities one and a half hours later that they have done previously. This means our group that takes early 7.30 am tees can no longer get a cup of coffee or sandwich or even buy water etc before we disappear around the course for 4 hours ,. neither are we served with a drinks buggy (another service that has been withdrawn on Mondays) or benefit from a halfway house. Because of the unusual design of the course you do not return to the clubhouse until you play the 18th. Having circumnavigated the course avoiding water filled bunkers and puddles.

Having seen they were running glossy adverts for staff I decided to comment about the situation , this was the post.

"Can you find somebody to serve us members a cup of coffee before our round at 7.15 am? We pay for annual membership but you have withdrawn the morning service. Paying €2000 plus a year for membership we should not be expected to meet in the carpark and bring our own refreshments."

I very quickly received a reply from their "Director of Golf" requesting a quick meeting. Naturally I was impressed at the quick response and arranged to meet him, i expected to discuss the issues and maybe get a solution to what is obvious to anyone, a failure of their service.

I met a guy called Hugo and was asked to follow him to the top floor office where he promptly called for a witness to be present. The arrogance and lack of business acumen of this guy was breathtaking. He refused to discuss the service delivery problems but proceeded to berate me for airing my views on a public forum. It was like being called to the headmasters office.

I was not prepared to accept his arrogance so i have walked away from the establishment never to set foot there again. Well not until they find themselves someone qualified to live up to the man's pompous title!

We initially booked a round of golf at BoaVista through AlgarveGolf.net. We received written confirmation from them that hire of clubs was € 35 each. As my husband and son were playing a 2 ball, I called BoaVista and queries if one set of clubs would be ok, and they confirmed yes.

When my husband and son arrived yesterday, they had a very cold welcome - almost as though we were not welcome. My husband was charged € 40 for hire of clubs (as he was not aware of the initial price I had received) and also charged for hiring two sets of clubs (they were the last 2 ball to play the course). When querying this with Sendra and Sonya at the golf club earlier today, we were in essence told they they will not refund us the difference.

When my husband asked about lunch options before the round, he was told go to the restaurant and wait 30 mins and maybe they can do something for you. He did not want to be late for the round so carried on. Fortunately a buggy came round and offered them so lunch.

Although they enjoyed the golf, the staff appear to have a real chip on their shoulders and a real sense of arrogance. I have been over charged and they are shrugging their shoulders. Be warned - not a pleasant experience at all !

Nice, comfortable, spacious, clean townhouses, despite furniture have some clear marks of usage.
Nice resort, with swimming pools, indoor and outdoor, spa, gym.
Quiet enough, but i was “upgraded” from a standard townhouse to “premium” , with only difference being the right to use SPA (anyway at a cost for any treatments) with the downside of being the townhouse in front of the busy swimming pool, with no privacy and limited views other than the pool and townhouses in front. Also the upgraded townhouse was specially modified to accommodate people with special needs, which fortunately i don’t need. Be aware of such type of “upgrade”, which i would have rejected if i had realised.
Anyway, i guess is a good option for families with small kids, not so great for families with adults only.

We recently visited Boa Vista, staying in the Bela Colina area of the complex. Staying as three families in three separate houses was absolutely fine (we’ve normally stayed in villas). As we socialised by the upper pool. They’ve two pool areas, both with 0.5m depth pools for small children and the lower pools have a shallower pool again. Also we had the patio areas at the rear of the houses which could allow us to be able to socialise and safely hear the children if needed. The resort as a whole was quiet throughout the stay which wasn’t a problem as the children loved having the pool to themselves. The bistro was well stocked and fairly quiet. Accommodating with the television so we could enjoy the FA cup final in there too. As golfers we enjoyed a round on the course, the round was a good speed and an enjoyable yet challenging course.

Staff don’t greet you with WELCOME upon arrival.
I had mis understood the Covid requirements nevertheless the receptionist wasn’t that welcoming or in any way happy to make my stay a happy one.
I booked with a good rate on Booking.com and have a two bedroom town house. I’d requested if possible could we have a house with a sunny terrace and most of which are indeed empty! We were put in the shaded side,
I’ve absolutely no idea why they would feel the need to do that except that they offered me to upgrade for €25.00 per night . That’s over 30% more than I paid with booking.com per night and the accommodation is no different except it has the winter sun.
Don’t try to upset your guests and the small things matter and they probably won’t return.

The accommodation itself is clean and comfortable. The bedrooms are one upstairs and one downstairs so perhaps not suitable for a family with small children as there as steps and various balconies. For us the inside has everything we need but I would prefer all living accommodation on one floor . Here the kitchen and dining area is downstairs with the lounge upstairs which is not that comfortable.

The pool is €6.00 if you’re staying here which again I think is unnecessary added cost.

I wouldn’t choose to stay here again as there are many far better resorts that are indeed 5* and make you feel valued.

Played Boa Vista on 6th October for first time. Really enjoyable layout with some very picturesque holes. Greens were in excellent condition, the best of the four courses we played that week (others being Palmares, Espiche and Vale da Pinta). Will definitely be returning to play Boa Vista.

Hi, sorry for the late answer. well we rented a car by -rent a car- starting on the airport of Faro. because the golfresort is higher situated than Lagos and by car ca. 10 min to the city and harbour. besides that the app.complex is ca. 1 km from the entrance. so I would recommend carhire.
