This hotel is a very very pleasant one. It is charming. Beautiful. Very welcoming. The location is quite good, just next to very fantistic places. And the food is delicious. I loved it here. The room is spacious, with a terrace, a good bathroom, a nice bed. The pool seems wonderful (but not heated). The lobby/bar is quite nice, with a very kind cat as main guest. The breakfast is very complete with a lot of vegetarian options. A lot of portuguese specialities also. Very nice staff. Cet hotel est très très plaisant. Il est même charmant. Très joli et accueillant. L'emplacement est pas mal, juste à côté de pas mal de points fantastiques. Et la piscine semble très cool (mais non chauffée). Le bar/réception est plutôt sympa, avec un gentil chat en invité d'honneur. Le petit-déjeuner est très complet, avec beaucoup d'options végétariennes. We stayed at Dom Manuel for one week. The hotel was very clean and our room was very comfortable. We had a wonderful balcony looking out over the pool/garden. Despite reading the glowing reviews of the breakfast we were still blown away by the amazing, fresh and imaginative array of food. All the staff were so friendly but Oksana the receptionist deserves a special mention for her wonderful recommendations of places to eat. We had a most enjoyable stay and would certainly go back.

A lovely boutique hotel. We stayed in a Junior Suite situated above the breakfast room overlooking the pool. Large balcony. Comfortable, clean and well equipped room. Friendly staff. Awesome breakfast, the best I have ever tasted. Good location on the outskirts of the town.

We had a really fabulous short break at the DM and we would venture back in a heartbeat. Quaint, friendly, professional, helpful, ultra-clean and, of course, the crazily fantastic breakfasts were (quite literally) the icing on the cake!! We really enjoyed this hotel and only the thin walls/sometimes noisy as a result, and the somewhat uncomfortable bed stopped us giving top marks. For the cost, the hotel also represents excellent value. We can't praise the DM enough, a really excellent experience.

Second visit to the Dom Manuel, still fantastic. Staff are lovely, helpful and knowledgeable where to eat, smile on their faces, Breakfast is amazing, Katia has such a passion about the freshly, homemade food at breakfast, always a surprise in the morning, thank you all. Take a car- either rental or shuttle. Train is too slow and stops frequently as a local. We took a shuttle a little expensive but very convenient and we were going back to Lisbon for a few days so no rental car to return. Be aware there are no elevators at the hotel.
There was just a news channel in English. There is a good wifi signal and as far as I know there are showers in every room. They are very spacious and well designed shower rooms. You can specify when you book.
