This is a great little hotel for the budget traveller. Spotlessly clean, decent size rooms and an aircon unit that pumps out heat as well. In the bathroom there is a hairdryer, shower gel, soap and shampoo which are replaced daily. You can ask at reception for a kettle. The reception staff are so helpful and polite. Special mention must be made of the afternoon receptionist from Moldovia, what a charming lady. We hope you have a beautiful wedding, in the summer!! We found the area very safe even though it looks run down. We are two old ladies and were quiet comfortable walking at night. The main town is about 10minutes walk and the train and bus station are on your doorstep! The breakfast has plenty of choice. Fresh fruit, many cereals, biscuits and breads. There are pastries, cheeses, cold meats and tea and coffee. Don't hesitate to book rooms at this great little hotel.

Stayed here 15/07/19 - 21/07/19 typical 2 star Portuguese hotel with aircon, tv and onsuite. No frills but best value in town on this very exspensive festival week. If you book here get a double room and book early for a good price, free cancellation on booking. Com

Would not recommend booking here. I only give it two stars because the staff was friendly and helpful and the location is convenient for the train, otherwise this was not an enjoyable place to stay. The major issue I had with it is that in the night while we were sleeping a heavy lampshade fell off the wall above the bed, hit the bed then broke on the floor. Thankfully I had moved the bed a few days earlier since I’m travelling with my mum and we appreciated having a couple feet between our beds instead of them being pushed together as they were when we arrived. If I hadn’t moved the bed the lampshade would have landed very close to my head. The gentleman in the lobby was helpful to come upstairs and clean it up, but it shouldn’t have happened. The shower head does not stay up in the holder without water pressure. When the water gets turned off, it falls down and not knowing that, hit my mum in the shoulder. Then there was the issue of parking, it was hard to find parking some evenings and we had a pretty small car. If you have a bigger car I imagine it’d be even more difficult. There is also no mini fridge and the blow drier didn’t work. The towel rack for the shower towels was located within the shower area, which I found a bit odd and had to move them so they didn’t get wet. I booked this hotel because we were arriving late and leaving early by train so it’s a convenient location for that and was a decent price. But with everything, I should have booked somewhere else.

Warm welcome at a very late book in. Very good room, comfortable bed...clean bedding and towels every day. Good choice for breakfast. Situated within walking distance of all the attractions and restaurants. Some traffic noise in front rooms. Very well priced, we will be back.

We stayed here for one night which is a good thing as this is a poor quality place. We checked in, the person on the desk wasn't the most happy person but was helpful enough. We were on the first floor and had a room at the front which we didn't bother to open the shutters because the view of the abandoned building opposite was the only view. The balcony door didn't shut properly which made the noise from the road outside quite loud which was still going through the night. The room was very basic, a small shelf desk and chair with not much room to get around the side of the bed. There was a old style TV in the room which was poor, there was air conditioning which was ok. The bed was ok, reasonably comfy. As for the bathroom it didn't get better, the facilities weren't the best and not in the best condition. The room was quite small and just about enough room for two small suitcases (plane carry on size) if positioned in certain places. The door lock had to be pushed in before closing the door to lock the door when you are leaving the room which we had to ask as the normal way of using the key to lock the door didn't work. Didn't feel like the most secure place. We had breakfast included which was ok, it was continental and not that much choice other than toast/cereal/cheese etc, tea/coffee. It wasn't very inspiring or overly appetizing. Overall the location is really good as it is few minutes walk into the centre and also it is just next to the train station. The rooms are low quality and well used. It doesn't seem to be the most secure but we didn't see or experience any issues. There are quite a few abandoned buildings surrounding which doesn't help make the area attractive. The noise from the road can be bad especially if you have a room at the front of the building. The staff seemed to be ok. The whole place needs to be renovated really. If you need to get a train in the morning this place is worth staying at for one night wouldn't recommend any longer really.
