What a fabulous little older style establishment. All the staff are so friendly and helpful and the rooms are kept spotlessly clean. Situated right by the bridge to the 'mainland' a few steps from the fabulous expanse of beach and close to plenty of places to eat.
The airport is five minutes away in a taxi so very handy if you just want somewhere to stay before an early flight.
You will love Praia de Faro and this is the perfect base to explore it!

We have been going to this hotel since 2004, and have never been disappointed, or had cause to complain. In our opinion, this hotel is perfectly located: get off the plane, onto a bus or in a taxi, and head for the beach. 5 minutes later, you are at the hotel. The taxi costs approximately 10 euros.
It's also a short walk to the ferry, which takes you across the rio formosa to the town centre. The ferry runs approximately every 30 minutes and a return fare is 3.75 euros.
The hotel itself is clean, friendly, excellent value and the food is extremely good, although I found the dessert portion to be too large for me.
The only issue on this visit was that there was building work taking place on the bridge near the hotel. Had we known about this, we would have packed earplugs. Not the fault of the hotel though, and we will definitely be back.

I stayed one night at Hotel Aeromar after spending the week in Lagos. I decided to spend an extra day in Faro before flying out and I’m so glad I did! Carlos greeted and checked me into the hotel. He noticed I had reserved for 2 people and reimbursed me for the additional breakfast I pre purchased. Very honest as I didn’t notice. He was kind to carry my luggage up to my room. The rooms are simple and clean. My room had a fantastic view of the ocean - I slept with the patio door slightly ajar to hear the ocean waves all night.
Shortly after checking in a huge storm blew through. I felt cozy in my room and watched the wind, sideways rain and gigantic ocean waves from my balcony. After the storm passed the sun came out and I ventured out to walk along the beach. Absolute heaven (besides the wind).
After getting a snack on the beach. I returned to the hotel for dinner. Bruno waited on me. He was funny and very kind to me, even teasing me a bit making me laugh. Totally made my night! My main course was so delicious - traditional seafood cataplana. I found myself thinking about it the following morning, dreaming of the flavors. There were 2 couples and a few other singletons that evening. We all ended up chatting - human connection over food and wine at our separate tables. I felt grateful they all spoke English. The couple from Germany stays here every year they love the hotel and this special area so much. Beautiful beach and amazing nature preserve.
Joao greeted me for breakfast, whipping up a delightful cappuccino as I helped myself to the buffet. He left me with his warm genuine smile.
I highly recommend this hotel of simple goodness.
I look forward to return someday. ❤️

The room was terribly old and dirty. When we stepped in we found hair on the bed and floor, an used pad on the toilet tray, toothpaste stains in the glasses, dead fly caught in a spider web. In the whole room there was only one socket. When we reported the problem, they couldn’t change our room as they were fully booked, but they gave us an extension lead and they offered us to change the linen on the bed (even though they came late in the afternoon, because the staff had to have their break first). They also offered us free breakfast, which no one wouldn’t ever pay for; lack of food and the coffee was dispensed by a machine. The staff was polite. The location is good as it is in front of the beach and close by restaurants and airport. We had dinner once in the restaurant of the hotel, it’s cheap but the taste of the food wasn’t great. When we checked out we left a review on Booking.com, where we booked, and contacted the customer service to report the inconvenience we had but nothing was done. Actually they offered me €50 to remove the review.
We definitely won’t come back here

Hotel Aeromar is located 2 minutes from one of Faro’s best beaches - it makes sense to book a room here if you want to do some tanning in the golden sands.
Rooms are VERY basic - like an American motel from the 50’s. Don’t expect any luxury or fancy stuff. On the other hand, rates are reasonable, so it’s good value.
Free wifi, free parking, breakfast buffet €7.

had several meals overlooking the sea . George and son Hugo were most helpful and spoke English so advised us on the menu selection. Fabulous seafood Portuguese style and lovely house wine. Manager/owner most helpful and met all our needs. Live music provided nice and quiet at restaurant.

Spent 3 nights here, we booked a superior twin room. Very pleasant receptionist, she let us check in early. We were given the remote for the air con. I know the rooms are dated, but they were very clean. Friendly cleaning staff. There is no safe in the room or a fridge. Beds and pillows were very comfy, aircon very good. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, we went further up the beach for a bacon and egg sandwich. We had 2 meals there in the evening, a monkfish cataplana with a bottle of wine, bread and olives and the next night mixed fish. Both were reasonably priced. We had the pudim flan and chocolate mousse which was lovely. Had 3 good nights sleep, nice view in the morning across the beach. We were lucky to have great weather, hotel supplied beach towels for us. Hot water in the shower a bit intermittent. There was a kettle in the room with tea and coffee. The TV appeared to have a jumble of cables, probably would be better without it and the sofa. Enjoyed our stay here.

This was our 3rd visit, and it has become our "special place" The staff are wonderful, & there is a great restaurant and snack bar. Although there is a regular bus service, we can walk to the hotel in 40 minutes from the airport (we only travel light with a backpack), & the area has a fantastic beach, with a beautful lagoon on the other side of the strip which extends for miles, but is only about 100m wide. See you again next year Aeromar, and thank you for making us so welcome yet again.

WOW! What a gem of a place! Booked a 5 day trip to Faro as we got a great deal in this Hotel.
5 min from airport. On arrival it looks a bit run down but when you step inside it's like a classic Portuguese dream! I loved it. Beautiful old fashioned Portuguese artifacts everywhere. We had the superior room with sea facing balcony. Beautiful immaculate clean large spacious room. Lots of lovely extras like fresh fruit, toiletries ect. Very charming.
1 minute walk to the most enormous stunning Golden beach ( which was empty!). 2 little beach restaurants which were both busy but not overly.
We ate dinner I'm hotel which was fabulous. Lamb chops and steak were fabulous.
Unfortunately on our 3rd day a storm hit! Was really exciting to watch the size of the waves become enormous. Because this is a small beach resort there is nothing to do apart from go to beach we decided to move into the city to a hotel with an indoor spa just to make the most of our r@r. Had it been good weather I would have spent all week here.
Very reasonable priced and lovely professional staff.
Thank you for our stay!
