During a 2 week vacation to Portugal, my partner and I drove down to Albufeira for a 4 night stay.
There was plenty of shaded parking which is easily accessible. We arrived slightly before 3pm but check in was an easy transaction and we were able to access our room.

The room was clean, it contained a fridge and AC. The bathroom was modern with reasonable water pressure in the shower and there was access to a balcony that overlooked the front of the hotel. There is a maid service whereby your towels, toiletries are replenished and beds are made.
The only criticism we have of the room is that the AC was loud and hard to sleep with (if you’re a heavy sleeper, you may not find this distracting) and the fridge could do with replacing as it hummed quite loudly periodically through the night. We couldn’t switch it off as we had water bottles inside. But as a whole, the room was good.

The beach is only a 10-15min walk away but we were disappointed with how much seaweed the water contained. Sunbeds are available to purchase, but most people laid out on their towels.

The pool area was pleasant. There is a main pool, indoor pool and a bar side pool. The outdoor pool was a nice temperature and cools you off during times of peak sunshine.

As this is an adults only hotel, the pool area is very quiet, which we thoroughly enjoyed as a means to escape the stresses of every day life.
If you are the British type that likes to party, drink from the moment you wake up and be boisterous and wear Nike Airmax round by the pool.. this is not the hotel for you my friend. There was one guest and his partner who fell into this category and ruined the ambiance for everyone else around the pool. Just be mindful when booking that this is a quiet relaxing hotel.

The food at the restaurant was great. We had breakfast and dinner included in our booking. Breakfast time was a selection of pastries, fruit, cereal and a plate of cooked breakfast (one per person). We were expecting more of a buffet choice for the breakfast but understandable as it is only a small hotel.
Dinner was a different selection every evening and there was always something for everyone to enjoy. Again, just be mindful that it is a small hotel so it won’t be like your standard all inclusive resorts. Drinks were fairly midrange in terms of price (€3.50 for water, €8 for a gin)

There were options from the bar to order for lunch. On one day we ordered a ham & cheese toastie with chips for €6 each, which we felt was reasonable.

Other guests I spoke with said that the town is only a short taxi ride away, but we didn’t use this service as we had a car with us.

On the whole we did enjoy our stay and would consider booking this hotel again if we were to ever visit Albufeira again.

I read some reviews, which kind of got me thinking. But, knowing we are all different I decided to forget what I'd read and take as I found! Got to the hotel at 8pm. The lady on reception was very welcoming and gave us the key card and WiFi access code. When we got to our room, we had a double bed....and considering I was with my 19 year old son, we asked to swap rooms. ( maybe I should have stipulated we were not a couple, given we share the same surname.
However, this was not an issue at all to the reception staff.and we soon settled into our new room with 2 singles! The room was cleaned daily, fresh towels and new bed linen if required. Cannot fault those ladies at all. They were hard workers, as were the restaurant staff. They were all so very kind to us, and understanding as my son has special needs, and can be a handful sometimes! We were in room 125 it was great, we could see the sea and gardens and plenty of lovely birds.

Paulo bless him was a lovely guy as were the rest of the team. Always helpful and thanked us for supporting them.
You do have to be prepared to walk. Two beaches one small one with a restaurant and a larger one again with a very busy restaurant, with half sunbeds and shades, the other for those happy with a towel and own sun shade. Both down a hill, but it wasn't a problem for us.

The place is so tranquil and relaxing in a beautiful location. We enjoyed the food, especially the soup, always perfect! Breakfast was good, loads of fruit and you can request sausage, bacon, scrambled egg etc at no extra cost. I didn't see a notice stipulating how many eggs you can have as stated in someone else's review. A visit to Margem Sol is a must! Beautiful food, and a stones throw from the hotel. Afew tips! We did a big shop the morning after we got there at Aldi for water, coffee etc for the room. Taxi was 7 euros. However after speaking to others at rhe hotel ordering a taxi via the uber app is at least 2 euros cheaper. Works perfectly as gives your exact location, make of car and reg, and drivers name.

We went to the Marina alot to eat, and tended to walk there, and taxi back. The old town is lovely, but in the evening it was packed, and tbh I was happy to get back to the hotel in it's peaceful location.
Ok parts of the hotel could do with a spruce up. But to me it's location, lovely staff and food made up from any superficial defects.

Would definitely return there, but not with my 19 year old, who is reluctant to walk anywhere!
Thankyou Hotel Maritur. Fiona and Finlay

We didn’t arrive until late, couldn’t fault the staff easy check in and even made us something to eat (out of meal hours). Breakfast could have been a bit better in terms of cooked options but there was plenty of variety.

Our room was absolutely fantastic, nice and spacious, as well as the bathroom. The cleanliness was spot on, not a bit of dust or grime. The facilities again are spot on, variety of pools inside and out.

The location for us was perfect, we could walk easily into the Old Town and to the marina, however this might not be ideal for everyone. A taxi into Old Town costs roughly €10 which in the current climate is alright. There are a couple of nearby restaurants and bars as well as a beach down the hill from the hotel.

I would definitely come back again!

The photos on the website doesn’t have nothing to do with the reality. Rooms are dirty, very bad smell from the rooms, the AC wasn’t working to heat the room, we went to front desk to get coins for the washing machine and next day the manager said we have to pay 2€ cause we use the washing machine. When we asked for change at the front desk nobody said nothing about that. After the breakfast was the poorest breakfast we ever had, shame on them. They bring this plate for two persons 😂
We booked for two days but we ask for refund!!

Dear Alin First of all let us clarify that the coins that you have asked to exchange at the reception was for the dryer. You should have told the staff that you have also used the washing machine as this is not a free service. We are sorry that the breakfast have not reached your expectations. Exceptionally we have agreed to refund the second night as we do not want to have unhappy guests in our Hotel. Take a look on the reviews and find out about how much guests love our hotel

Very quiet, relaxing hotel. Rooms kept very clean. I know that some people have mentioned that it needs an update, but I rather liked its retro look, with huge marble coated bathrooms, and carpeted edge around the bed over the parquet floor.
Bar makes a mean mojito and you can have your drink in the tiled, shallow pool, on a marble table in the water.
We just stayed bed and breakfast, and there was plenty of choice available from both hot and cold options.
Possibly the hotel could invest in a larger toaster? Honestly the two slice toaster is nowhere near big enough for 20 people in the room.
We went out for drinks and dinner in the evening. Uber to Old Town was 7 euros each way.
There is a kettle in the room, so pack/buy coffee/tea bags and powdered milk.
Small empty fridge in room which can be filled with wine/beer......or water :-)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I'm a little baffle by the amount of 4 and 5 star reviews this hotel gets. Is it in a great location? No! Has it got the most jaw dropping rooms you'll ever find in a hotel? No! Are all the staff going above and beyond to make your stay great? No! I just don't get it. The room was a good size bit other than the bed and the aircon and a coat of paint I suspect nothing has changed since the hotel opened in 2019. There was a friendly gentleman on reception and a nice waitress at the resteraunt but other than that most people struggled to say hello or smile. I knew the hotel was out of the way but didn't realise their is hardly anything around it and the 20+ minute walk to the marina had the total of 0 bars and shops in between. The hotel bar was expensive which considering its location you'd have thought they would have utilise this to keep people from straying out as a 4 euro Uber soon pays for itself with much cheaper and better views drinks at the marina. I think the hotel needs a refurb and if I was the owner I would probably make the rooms self catering units due to the location. We had a sea view room which was a nice view but sadly none of the Seaview rooms get sun on the balcony other than a tiny strip. The indoor pool and sauna always appeared to be closed. I could go on but I'm sure you get the drift. If you book this then just remember your choice on a night is either a 4 euro trip to marina a 7 euro trip to old town or 8 euro trip to New town. Certainly no wandering out and seeing where you end up.

Lovely family owned hotel, although when we arrived, they weren't the most welcoming, and just told us the room wasn't ready, didn't show us where anything was , like the indoor pool etc, we went for a drink whislt we were waiting only to be told the bar didn't open till 1pm, but we eventually were offered a very small glass of beer and softdrink.

Hotel was spotless, room was lovely with great balcony space overlooking the sea.
Great pool and spa facilities, we used the indoor pool as slightly warmer than the outdoor one.

Food choice was limited unless you liked pizza, but what we had was nice, although again , we went down for breakfast one our first morning and have to say the woman that served us was far from welcoming, she was so grumpy and unfriendly.

There was also another gent working there, on the first night, we had our drinks and dinner and automatically presumed the cost would be added to our bill (like our welcoming drinks were) but he didn't take our room number and didn't get us to sign for anything, (not our fault) he then pestered us the next day, to pay him personally as he had to pay for the bill to balance the till. He wouldn't accept credit card for the payment and then when we asked for a receipt, said that would be a problem as it was from the night before, but seeing how disgruntled we were, finally got us one

Handy for Albufeira and the marina, and the taxis weren't overly priced and very reliable. Also a lovely walk down to the beach, although very hilly, all down hill to the beach and all up hill on the way back.

They also had the same singer three nights of the week, i think it would be better to get a different act in more often as it was the same songs she sung everytime.

If you are staying there, do not use Tommy's supermarket which is situated close by, total rip off merchant, with no prices on the products and the till is never working and overcharge for everything. Best going to the spar by the marina and getting a taxi back, you will save a fortune.

All in all, a lovely quiet hotel with lovely outdoor pool and indoor pool, spa, gym, food okay ...but best going to the many food places down at the Marina and entertainment on most nights with them as well

Very handy base for exploring the surrounding area.

Just returned from 11 days at this hotel. We were happy with our room, it was clean and towels and linen were changed regularly, We found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. The included breakfast was good but I wouldn't particularly recommend the hotel restaurant for evening dinner and eating elsewhere decent requires a taxi unless you are young and fit enough to cope with the lengthy walks (uphill from any direction on any return journey) as there is no decent bus service. The Jet2 Holidays description was 80 metres to nearest bars and restaurant - that's more like 300/350 metres to just 1 bar and 2 restaurants! We found ourselves taking taxis to the Marina to eat quite often. Also we booked this hotel as it was supposed to be adults only but found that there was a Portugese family with a teenage boy there for most of our stay and another similar family arrived the day before we left. On a good note the building work we had been warned about was not too noisy on the first 3 days of our holiday and stopped completely on 30 June. We were told it will not restart until September.

Spacious, quiet and well equipped rooms, comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms.
The bedside lamps give more than enough light (a rarity in most hotels nowadays).
Excellent breakfast, eggs prepared to your taste, lots of fresh fruit, natural yoghurt.
Lunch bags (for on the golf course) were just right at modest cost. Very friendly service.

My husband and I have just returned from a week here. It was booked at short notice due to our holiday in Rhodes being cancelled.
The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful,. The ,(outdoor), pool was nice and the aqua bar a nice touch.. Our room was good, the marble bathroom was good, but a chrome showerhead would have looked better than plastic over the bath. Towels are changed when you put them on the bath tub.
There is a beautiful, small local beach and cove close by.
There was a kettle and two paper cups in the room but no milk, tea or coffee. We have never been to a hotel without this, as even a Travelodge supplies this,( and with ceramic cups too,). The mini market in the hotel was very expensive, €7.70 for 10 sachets of cappuccino.

We were half board. Breakfast was fine, a buffet and a set amount cooked breakfast , cooked to order.

The evening meal was basic, limited and poorly presented,( not the way you would expect a professional chef in a four star hotel to present it) , with items often unavailable; sliced bread used for garlic, cheese bread and often boiled rice and peas. Deserts were limited and unappetising.
I look forward to good food on holiday as it takes long enough to save up for.

If you just want bed and breakfast this is fine and we got the impression that it is geared towards this.
We used Uber taxis to go out as nowhere near anywhere.
A good trip to go on is a boat trip from the marina,( 20-25 mins away downhill). You can't guarantee to see dolphins,( but we did), do the boat trip for the stunning caves and coves.
You need to pay a cash deposit for pool towels, but they happily on request and the safe which you get back at the end.
If it had been possible to give a 2.5 rating I would have.
