Recently had a 10 night stay at these apartments. On checking in there was basic communication with member of staff. In general reception staff not friendly bar the tall fella who was very helpful at all times. Please be aware that the apartments are about a 15 minute walk from the Old Town and on the way back up it is all uphill. About 6 or 7 euro in taxi. Small shop on site sells basic stuff obviously more expensive. Small bar that we went to once, not many about but we were there slightly early in the season. Great pool bar and pool area though didn't see pool cleaned once during our stay. Pool cold though to be honest we didn't see many people in or around pool while we were there. Indoor pool quite cool, jacuzzi could defo do with some kind of hand rail to access. Pool bar really lovely but again very expensive at 2.50 euro for a can of coke/diet coke. Food was okay but again expensive. Apartments basic but very roomy. Think cleaning needs to be reviewed as even after our bathroom was cleaned there was still soap/toothpaste on sink from slightly earlier in the morning!!!! Again a handle of some sort would be good for getting in and out of shower to ease access especially for any with mobility issues. When you come out of hotel and down the hill you will find two wee cafes both very reasonable and affordable. Georges wee cafe is on the right hand side when you come down hill and the other one is on your left. Also a small supermarket beside this one also. Big Lidl and Aldi close by and if you plan to do self catering defo worth a trip there and taxi back we just didn't fancy any cooking in the kitchen!!!!! We had requested a ground floor room however were allocated a second floor room which is understandable if busy however most ground floor apartments in our block appeared to be vacant!!!

We stayed here as a family for 14 nights. We flew out the first week foreign travel was allowed from the UK, we booked through TUI. The Pateo village apartments are very basic to say the least, the bathroom was quite shabby and the rest of the decor and furniture was very dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. Room cleaning was not being carried out due to Covid restrictions still in place, however we were given a sweeping brush/mop to do this ourselves so at least we could keep the place clean. Clean towels, bedding and toilet paper was available on request. The apartments were large with air conditioning.

The apartments are located at the top of a hill approximately 15 minutes from the old town and beach, no problem walking for us, in fact it’s very much needed with all the extra calories consumed! Aldi and Lidl are about a 20 minute walk away but we did get a taxi back.

The pool area was clean and spacious, there is also an indoor pool, again some TLC needed...lots of sun beds available , but always covered in bird muck, I acquired 2 for our ground floor terrace, disinfected them and kept them for our entire stay not only for this reason but also the Covid situation.

We don’t go on holiday to stay in at night and why would you when there’s So many fantastic places to eat and with some stunning views.

Our third time at the Pateo village apartments and things have changed a bit in the 5 years since we where last here.
Most things have changed for the better, but some for the worse. The bits that have got better include A/C in every room, but not just cooling a/c, these ones heat as well,a god send in the 7 degrees of winter. Another plus is that the apartments all have microwave ovens. The overall quality of the place has gone up a notch, the onsite shop is bigger, the buildings look better maintained. The only minus this time is that the indoor pool that was once heated is not longer heated, meaning it is nearly as freezing as the outdoor pools, and they are frosty. Money saving or more environmentally friendly, who knows, but at least the jacuzzi is still heated. So you can chill out,but defo cannot go for a swim in winter.

We stayed in apartment 118 from 14th to 28th Dec 2019 and we had a perfect peaceful winter holiday.
The apartment was spotless and the housekeepers came every day with loads of clean towels, toilet rolls and tea towels. They emptied the bins and cleaned the rooms daily and changed the beds regularly.
The apartment itself was very big. We paid the few pounds extra to have the use of the bedroom and we recommend this for everyone as it’s worth it. Otherwise you’ll be sleeping on the sofa beds, which there’s nothing wrong with but they’ll need making up every night so treat yourselves and have the proper beds in the bedroom, you’ll be glad you did, they’re really comfortable.
Also the bedroom has its own patio with sliding door so wherever the sun is you’ll be able to enjoy it. The full size wardrobe and dressing table are in the bedroom too. There was an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe.
The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could want to self-cater. There’s a full size cooker with an oven, a toaster, a microwave, fridge, kettle plus plenty of pans, utensils, cutlery and crockery for 4 people.
There is a tv with English channels and a safe in the lounge/kitchen area. You pay a deposit for the safe but this is refunded when you return the key at the end of your stay.
The lounge and the bedroom both had air con units which could be used as heaters if you have a winter stay as we did and they were very welcome.
Even though it was too cold to use the outdoor swimming pools in December it was really nice to just look out of your patio doors or sit on the huge balcony and have the view of the pools outside your door. There is an indoor pool and a jaccuzi which was good.
The coffee shop and breakfast facilities weren’t available when we stayed but we saw the staff preparing them ready for the New Year’s Eve clients that had come to stay towards the end of our holiday.
The staff on the reception were really lovely. They were friendly and extremely helpful, a pleasure to deal with.
The old town of Albufeira is about a 15 minute walk downhill and is easy to find. The gorgeous sandy beach is there, which is very long. Remember that it’s all uphill coming back though so it’s harder to do if you have young children and beach equipment etc. There are plenty of taxis if you can’t manage the walk back.
If you’d prefer to have a poolside holiday you’ll be in your element at Pateo Village. There are two outdoor pools with plenty of sunbeds and grass verges.
We would recommend Pateo Village to anyone looking for a place to stay that is spotlessly clean, well equipped and very very good quality with lovely staff. We would definitely stay there again.

We have just returned home and this was exactly the break we needed.
What you need to know , the complex is set in a hill (very very steep) so ideally you need a car or to use taxis factor this in to your holiday cost was around €14 a day if you want to go to town and back.
It’s worth a trip to a big supermarket to get everything you need we went to continente modello which was brilliant
The beds in the apartment are not the best but saying that we’ve all relaxed and managed to sleep well.
I recommend ground floor apartment as you can sunbathe outside your room and just pop in and out for drinks etc
Pools are a little cold but there is a fantastic indoor pool, this was so great for families and all children staying here just hung out together and played as a group (makes for very relaxed parents)
It feels really safe , staff were all lovely and the little coffee shop does a decent selection of food great for breakfast and lunch.
We were lucky to be here when there is a curfew in town so no one came back to their room after 10.30, made for a very quiet stay . You are not permitted to play music around the pool , wear your headphones again making for quiet relaxation.
You can sunbathe till 8/8.30pm as it remains warm , not experienced this before - sitting on your patio with a drink on an evening was just bliss
Finally download and use Uber eat app before you go, it works brilliantly in Portugal with a great range of deliveries available, great for the odd night in
Huge thank you to the manager at the Ouratlantico apartments who couldn’t accommodate us and sent us here , best holiday we’ve had in a long time x

If you do go there are 2 lovely black cats (one very very friendly ) it would be lovely just to give them some food while you are visiting

Went with my partner of nine years for a two week break. Staff were lovely. Place spotless but only issue I had was the fact they didn't accommodate people with gluten or dairy allergies. I emailed well ahead of our arrival explaining I can't eat gluten or dairy. We paid for bed and breakfast so that was a waste of money as for breakfast all we got was toast, croissant, ham, cheese, and scrambled egg. Which all of the above I could not eat. If I wanted other food not containing gluten or dairy I had to pay. It was a joke. I found it even very difficult to source gluten free and dairy free alternatives while in Portugal. So if you have any allergies bring your own food.

Ignore the reviews from the 50 year old group of Karens below, this place is lovely.
We travelled Sept 2024 as a family of 4 and arrived at 9pm. Check-in was quick and easy, with no-one asking for any deposit, (we had bought it just in case). We were given the key to our apartment and directions. The apartment was spotless, overlooking the pool and garden, the aircon was ice cold and free all day every day. Two aircon units in each apartment. The apartments are very big, easily enough to accommodate us. The pool area and gardens are spotless as is the indoor pool and jacuzzi, there is a 24 hour shop on site also if you need an emergency bottle of wine at 3am!
We didn't try the cafe on site but used the one about 100 yards away, which do a good full english for 6 euros. There is a supermarket next door too and Aldi is a 4 euro taxi ride away.
The walk into the old town is all downhill and takes around 15 mins, but there are bars to stop in on the way if you want to. I highly recommend downloading a taxi app called Bolt to get back. The taxis when booked through the app are dirt cheap and reliable, plus there is no need to tip the driver. Return from the old town is 4 euros.
All in all, a lovely, peaceful place to stay, with the bars and shops of the Old Town only a 15 minute stroll away.
The only thing I would say as a minor negative is the outdoor pool is cold, but you soon get used to it. Highly recommended.

We visited beginning of Dec for a 5 night stay. Check in was quick and easy, lady on reception told us everything we needed to know about the facilities and where they were. We did not have to pay any kind of deposit upon check in as mentioned in a previous review.
We stayed in apartment 220, and were very surprised with the size of the apartment and very happy with the kitchen facilities. Our view was of the pool area, which we didn’t use with it being Dec and a bit cooler. But they looked great, clean and plenty of sunbeds etc.
The apartment was very clean, two very small cons, the beds were single beds pushed together, i don’t like this in any hotel when it’s a couple booking. And the shower would only run hot for a certain amount of time, which was a little annoying for someone who likes a nice long hot shower.
As it was out of season there was a lot of maintenance work being carried out around the grounds, pool maintenance and painting the exterior of the apartments so I imagine the place will be looking nice and fresh for Summer 😀
The location is in more of a residential area, a short uber ride to the strip, old town or marina.
WiFi worked well.
For the price we paid we were more than happy with our stay at Patel Village and we would return.

Can't fault the place, it was very cheap and we weren't expecting much. The apartments are a little dated but spotlessly clean and they have everything you need. The pool area is clean and tidy and the girl on reception went above and beyond to help us when we arrived very early. We got there well before we should've due to our flight times and she made sure we had our keys within 10 minutes of getting there. Very much appreciated after a long day travelling. The location is a little out of the way and my biggest tip would be to download and use uber, 4 euro to either the old town or the strip and very easy to use. It will change your experience. If you are coming here expecting 5* luxury for 1* price, that says more about you than it does about Pateo Village. Embrace what you find and you will have a great time.

On arrival we were not asked for any deposit which had been mentioned on our booking. It was €20 for the safe key, which was refundable at the end of our stay. As it was late evening when we arrived and we hadn't got our bearings yet the receptionist kindly rang a taxi for us to go down to old town to get food.
We had a top story apartment, which was lovely, clean and spacious with a large rooftop balcony overlooking the pools and beautiful well kept grounds.
The apartment had everything we needed including kettle, toaster, microwave, cooker, hair dryer, TV, WiFi and air conditioning. The bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping came every second day and replaced all used towels/tea towels.
There is a small shop on site for basics to get you started. A coffee shop where you could get a small selection of drinks and different foods including a full English breakfast which was very good.
Very clean pool area which includes 2 outdoor swimming pools (1 kids pool) and an indoor heated pool plus a jacuzzi. Plenty of sunbeds and sun shades for anyone who needed them.
It is in a quite residential area of the Algarve. A little out of town on a hill with a 20/25 minute walk down to old town but taxis are only about €4 each way for anyone who would prefer not to walk.
We would not hesitate in staying in Pateo village if we go back to the Algarve in the future.
