Detailed Reviews
We have been to this hotel for the past 10 years and on each occasion have had a lovely time.. All the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel is situated about 10 minutes walk from the old town, local shops are about 10/15 minutes away, there is direct access to the beach and from the terrace there are stunning sea views.
Rooms are comfortable, there's storage space aplenty and facilities are of a high standard. Breakfast is buffet & continental style and choices are plentiful ~ one thing that never ceases to amaze me is that some guests make sure that they sample every type of food available and more !! Arrangements for the COVID situation were extremely good, temperature checks each morning, staff ensured that there was face mask compliance and provision of gloves to collect food items etc. There were one way systems for guest traffic together with a plentiful supply of hand sanitisers.
I would highly recommend this hotel, the staff make you feel so welcome and the owners, who regularly walk around and talk to guests, really care about the customer and nothing is a problem. The number of people who return every year is a clear indication that the appeal of the hotel is world wide. We are returning next year and can hardly wait

Managed to get away for a week at Alisos Hotel in Albufeira.
Loved it.
The views from our balcony were gorgeous, listening to the waves while we slept was lovely. The breakfast was outstanding, the choice was mind boggling and yet they are happy to cook any request.
The rooms felt modern and a step above what you'd expect at similar resorts along this coast.
Location was great, short walk to old town where there restaurants and bars to cater for all tastes. We found some small authentic restaurants and enjoyed every meal, the prices are not bad at all too.
The beach is easily accessed from the hotel but it's not private, maybe privately owned, it access is for all, still it is a quiet part of the beach with lifeguards in attendance.
But, for all the points mentioned above, it counts for little if the right team aren't in place and I have to say that the team at the hotel are friendly, professional and helpful. There was one member of staff who warrants particular praise and that is Ruben. Ruben goes above and beyond, connects well with the clientele and really made the holiday for us with his smiles, helpfulness and the ease with which he'd take a moment to share a story or listen to what you've been up to.
Well worth a visit.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. What makes this hotel stand out from others is the fantastic way that the staff treat you and the ability they have to make you feel like you’re the most special guest.
Absolutely nothing is too much trouble whether you are in reception, bar or dining their customer service and warmth is brilliantly executed.
There has to be a special mention for the lovely Fernando who keeps you entertained with stories of his travels!
The food and alcohol are extremely great value for money, good menu choice with delicious food of a very high standard.
The rooms are modern and cleaned to a high standard every day.
There is a delightful sunbathing terrace with plenty of modern comfortable sun loungers free of charge. A private access takes you to the beach but this is not a private beach do there is a charge of 15 euros for sun loungers there.
It is only a short 5- 10 minute walk into the old town for the bars and restaurants.
I can see why other reviewers return year on year - and so will we can’t wait to see you all again.

The Alisios is a lovely hotel on the edge of the sea but has limited sea view rooms and to be honest a number of rooms which are looked into too closely. We had a room facing the main road with an open outlook but would certainly have preferred a high floor sea view.
I say this because of the traffic noise as traffic went by and bumped over all the speed bump lines at night. It kept us awake a lot of the time.
It has an indoor pool but you need a bathing cap to use it and the hotel can sell one for 5 euros. The sun terrace is great and the staff throughout the hotel are very good.
We were B & B only and the breakfast was fine with a good selection.
The hotel is far enough away from the Albufeira town in one direction and the strip in the other direction to ensure you do not get the rediculous noise from the bars in the evening till late . Albufeira has become the stag and hen party capital it seems and drunken British and Irish make it unbearable to enjoy the main square.
Not the fault of the Alisios but so many of the locals are fed up with the drunken behaviour.
We liked the hotel but can never go back to Albufeira.

The typical guest here is a couple, late 50s in age, and either British or German. I saw maybe one kid. Based on some interactions I witnessed, I think there are a lot of returning guests which says a lot. There are some even older guests that you spot at breakfast. I have no idea where they disappear to in the daytime but I didn’t see them at any other time other than at breakfast. each room has at least two SOS signals (one by the bed, the other in the shower) so clearly the hotel caters to the older crowd. Sooo… this is not a fun or chic hotel. The rooms and common spaces are clean and in good condition but no frills. By my standards, it’s a three star not a four star. However, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast and lunch/bar areas are airy and nice. I think every room has a balcony. The service is good. It’s quiet and relaxing. It’s directly on the beach but lounge chairs and umbrellas are provided by a third party service for a fee (10 to 15 euros for two chairs and an umbrella). It’s walking distance to old town, and to various beach clubs and eateries along the beach. So if you want music or more of a scene while you work on your tan, it’s a short walk away. Anything further is a relatively cheap Uber ride away. Plenty of lounge chairs on the sun deck, never had to struggle to find one. The pool is indoors and you have to wear a swim cap so I didn’t even check it out.
The breakfast spread is pretty big but the cheeses are not tasty and the scrambled eggs are nearly inedible. you can order eggs in any style you wish but the waiters are nearly impossible to flag down. You have to pay to use the safe in your room. I’ve never come across this before in all my travels. Bathrobe provided, but no slippers and just a single towel set. Ok toiletries, no tissue box. Pretty small tv and hardly any English language channels, just the news. Surprisingly (given all the British tourists) not every waiter or staff member speaks English. Shower water temperature and pressure not great. AC broke for part of my stay and it was quite uncomfortable.
Bottom line, I’m not their desired guest (I’m 40, American, solo traveler) and that’s my mistake. It would be a nice hotel for couples of older generations.

+1
We just love this hotel, we have returned for a second year. The staff throughout the hotel are the most friendliest and efficient we have come across, from front desk, to breakfast staff, to dinner staff to cleaning staff, all are exceptional, the hotel should be proud of them.
The room is fine, no tea/coffee facilities, but who needs this, we are on holiday, the shower is superb, the rooms quiet and exceptionally clean, there is a safe, small charge, beach towels can be hired from reception, €20, swapped throughout the week if needed, and deposit returned 100% at end of stay- this saved us having to pack swimming, or subbed towels.
The breakfast is excellent, so much choice and very relaxed buffet style, juices, coffee, hot food, pastries, cheeses and meats, loads of fruit, cakes and specials can be requested, eg fried or boiled eggs, espressos etc. Lovely environment with the large sliding doors open and staff again super friendly.
Evening meal follows a menu, with plenty of options - we had starters, main and desserts, Prawn cocktail, wild mushrooms, goats cheese, Big salad, soups etc.
Main meals include, Steak, Turkey, Pork, Salmon, Chicken, various fish dishes, pasta dishes and more- we tried about 6 different mains and all were excellent. Desserts were scrumptious, loved the Red Velvet cake, the fresh fruit, the almond parfait…..missing it already. Staff and the location were perfect, very friendly and professional, evening meal is on the 3rd floor overlooking the beach, it really is so lovely.
There is no swimming pool, but plenty of sun beds on the terrace, no reserving beds, so many to pick from, there is a lovely indoor pool.
If you have booked this hotel, you will not be disappointed, we are about to leave and could easily stay another week.
The hotel is about 10 mins stroll along the front to the Old town which has supermarkets, shops, market stalls, plenty of restaurants and bars, there are escalators that lead from the promenade to the old town, it is busy but in a nice way.
Beach is not too busy, clean and very infant friendly, the beach is accessible from the hotel via a carded gate within the hotel so is very easy to access from the grounds of the hotel, a small boarded pathway of about 30 metres from the hotel and you are on the main beach. You use your room card to get to and from the beach.

My partner and I picked out a last minute January trip to Hotel Alisios in Albufeira in our local Tui store. The price was really good and I wanted some sunshine after the New Year break.
The hotel had lots of great reviews and pictures which really helped our decision, it's about 40 minutes away from the airport in a private taxi. The route in is mainly motorway as well and the scenery is lovely. The Algarve is such a pretty place!
Albufeira is quite a hilly location right on the sea front and the hotel sits on a slope, but overlooking a lovely golden beach and the sea. A warm welcome from Carlos at the desk, lots of information on the hotel, area and breakfast that we had booked, as well as some recommendations for evening meals in traditional portugese restaurants.
The old town is a short 10 minute from the hotel and we spent most of our stay down in this area. It was just after new year so much quieter than normal with a lot of places closed, but many were still open and there were lots of people around enjoying the sun. The small alleys and stunning architecture were a delight and the sun over the sea was just stunning! A really beautiful place.
The hotel had an indoor swimming pool which was very nice, but definitely colder than we would have liked. Breakfast was in the downstairs room, which was a shame it wasn't in the main upper restaurant, but served the purpose. The only real downside were the breakfast staff, who were pretty miserable and even opened it up late on checkout day. (should have been 7.30 and it was more like 7.40). The hotel has lovely rooms, a hidden garden area from the bottom floor which can take you down to a private path and steps to the beach, and a lovely restaurant which is in a separate building you walk down to from the third floor and this overlooks the sea! This building has a stunning veranda and area with loungers, which in the summer is probably super busy, but for us became a place to visit straight after breakfast and take in the views up the coast.
Highly recommend a visit to Casa de Fonte restaurant for amazing portugese food, wonderful staff and an amazing building too!
Overall this is a lovely hotel. It was perfect for our stay, it's far enough out that it's not directly in a busy or noisy area, the bed was comfortable and the room modern and clean. Staff were fantastic and a lovely touch to get a welcome and goodbye from the owner as well.

We visited the Alisios at Easter 2022 for a week. Apart from the queues at the airport, we made it and had a lovely greeting at reception, we were there early and our room was ready.
The room was very comfortable, with a walk in wardrobe and a safe, the shower was good, the hairdryer was not powerful enougth for me, the beds were very comfy, the only thing that was missing was tea /coffee making facilities, we overlooked the carpark but had a side view of the sea. Tip take a extension lead as not many sockets.
Food was good and tasty but not a great choice for us so glad we didn't go half board. But the breakfast was great lots of choice hot/cold and yummy cakes.
The hotel had plenty of sunbeds, a indoor pool and the sea on your doorstep, very quiet in the evening in the bar not much atmosphere and drinks expensive.
It is classed as a adult only hotel but there was a handful of young kids there, didnt bother us.
Mixed nationalities which was nice, all in all lovely hotel in a fab position, not far from the old town and a fair way from the strip so quiet in the evening.
Go of the beaten track in the old town and a great walk from the hotel to the left of the beach when looking at the sea up the stairs to the cactus and views.
It was my birthday when I was there, I got a cake a t-shirt at breakfast where they sang happy birthday to me and a bottle of wine was left in the room, I was really touched by this so would like to say thankyou.
Would definitely recommend this hotel, great base to explore the resort and staff was so friendly and nothing to much trouble for them.
You will not be disappointed if you go.

This was our 5th stay at the Alisios over the past 8 years and once again we were amazed by the professionalism and friendliness of all the staff. Subtle touches, like the bottle of red wine and greeting card in our room, made you feel at home. The location of this hotel is fantastic, the views overlooking the beach and sea amazing and the breakfast buffet spot on. A big thank you to the lovely cleaning staff who kept our room so immaculately clean throughout our stay. We will hopefully be returning next year.

Room is lovely albeit rather small.. But lovely. Walk in wardrobe, safe and a fridge. No kettle unfortunetly...:((((
So you cant make yourself a coffee. We missed this ALOT. We have stayed here often. Reception Staff are highly efficient and helpful. Indoor swimming pool is a great asset. Steps to the beach. Lovely. Breakfast is amazing. Waiters are so friendly. They remembered my name from last time! ha ha! You can smoke on the terrace or your balcony. The Sun Terrace does lovely snacks during the day. They have an evening menu ,but we like to get out in the evening. The local restaurants are a short walk and you take the outdoor escalator down to the town. Lots of restaurants. The hill up to the hotel is steep but only costs a fiver (including tip), euro, to get yourself up back to the hotel!

Yes, to both questions.
There are some steep steps inside the hotel down to some more steps down to the beach. My wife is not good on her feet, so we would come out of the front of the hotel, turn left, and there is a path with a rail to hold on to, and then we turned left just after a house next to the hotel, and just a few steps, and then on to the beach. We found this far more easier. Hope that helps.
No, we didn't see any.
Hi Carmel to be honest I am not sure. Their website shows they do a laundry service so it is possible.
