Detailed Reviews
Upon arriving at reception was immediately greeted by very friendly and attentive staff. As it was late on when we arrived most places were closed for food. But the friendly staff helped us order food locally.
In the morning we had a wander around and was very very impressed pools everywhere, tennis courts, small football place, facilities were top class.
We used the pool near reception where food and drinks were available. Also spa and massage available.
Our flat was compact but spacious, very well maintained clean plenty clean towels.
Overall staying here I would highly recommend.
Albuferia was 5 minutes away and there was plenty 3 wheeled taxis (beep beeps) at only 10 euros seemed to be standard price, Albuferia was beautiful little town clean and plenty bars and restaurants of different varieties we visited one next to beach eating right next to the beach hearing the waves washing over the sand was beautiful experience

Positives
Apartments were immaculately clean, extremely well equipped with everything you could need including full cooker, kettle, coffee machine, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and toaster.
Utensils such as scissors and sharp knives and items such as an iron and ironing board.
Bins emptied regularly and bedding/towels changed more regularly than advertised.
Beds, including pull out bed were very comfortable. We all slept very well.
Good sized balconies.
The grounds were well maintained, beautiful and very clean.
The location, being next to the sea, was beautiful.
The variety of pools was fantastic. We used the one that overlooks the sea a couple of times as this was closer to our room, but we favoured the larger family pool where the slides and entertainment are, we enjoyed the busy nature, but even at its busiest there was always ample space to sit and to swim.
Able to use any inflatables, snorkel etc.
Kids enjoyed the slides.
No issues at all with sunbeds which was a big reason we chose this accommodation.
Fantastic singers providing entertainment at the restaurant on an evening. Lovely relaxed Mediterranean feel with fabulous sangria. Play area next to this was great to entertain the children.
Relaxed daily entertainment: our 11 year old son loved the water polo.
Negatives
Apartments were dated and would benefit from modernising the decor.
Our balcony was heavily overlooked due to the L shape of that part of the building.
The location was a bit far from the resort and with no shops or restaurants immediately outside the accommodation we relied heavily on ubers.
The food at the restaurant was poor: no meat on the chicken piri piri, cold pancakes etc.
Could do with a few more parasols around the pools.
The location of our particular apartment meant we got no sun at all which was a shame, although also a blessing at times.
We did get the sea view we paid extra for and loved watching people come and go from the beach.
We are a family with a 14 and 11 year old.

As I write this I'm still currently here on our last but 1 day. Its early Sept 2021 and the sun has been shining all 9 days.
The resort is absolutely beautiful, tranquil, yet entertaining at the same time. There are multiple pools on the complex with the main pool having the music etc.... staff were very friendly and attentive even in these troubled times. I would recommend anyone staying self catering to get a taxi to Aldi or Lidle as the on site shop is limited and expensive. We went to Lidle and stocked up and ate out in the old town of Albufeira. This was just 10 € in a taxi. The old town is absolutely stunning! Lots to see and do with soooooo many restaurants. We found an amazing Indian called Indian Spice and it was jist like home in the UK.
We done the X ride excursion for only 29€ each. This was a 2 and a half hour boat trip to see the stunning beaches, caves and Dolphins. YESSS we seen Dolphins 🐬 was absolutely beautiful as was the caves. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Apartment room was spacious, modern and clean with Air con in every room. Main bedroom with its own bathroom as well as a family bathroom.. balcony had table and 6 chairs, 2 sunbeds and a parasol. Everything we needed. Full equipped kitchen Inc, kettle, Toaster, microwave, coffe machine, fridge and cooker.
Couldn't fault this resort, bloody loved it!! Couldn't recommend enough 👌

I have visited Albufeira many times before, but this was my first stay at Alfagar Village. I couldn’t rate our stay highly enough. We had a very spacious 2 bed room apartment just for the two of us. Rooms were very well equipped and comfortable. The TV had all English channels, not that you go on holiday to watch TV, but handy maybe if you have young children and retire to the room early. The pools areas are very clean and none (of the many pools) ever seemed crowded or busy.
This hotel is very geared towards families, with great facilities, play areas and children’s pools, splash park etc.
All staff in the bars, restaurants, reception and cleaning were all very polite, friendly and helpful. We ate at the Buganvila bar twice and had a lovely meal on both occasions.
The hotel isn’t too far from Albufeira new town, and about 7 Euros by taxi to the Old Town. There are some restaurants and a supermarket close by.
Although this is predominantly a family hotel (we were travelling without children) I would definitely visit again. We had a wonderful time.
Top tip. Rooms in block 1 are close to the bar, and the entertainment and noise goes on past midnight. This didn’t bother us, but if you are early to bed or have young children, you would be best to request a room further away from this area.
Sea view rooms are definitely worth paying extra for. Lovely and quiet and the views are spectacular.

Stayed at alfagar village 15th Aug-22nd we'd previously stayed in the aparthotel a few years back and found it quite noisy so thought we'd try village our first room had people above us banging so asked to be moved and was swiftly moved the next day the apartment was a lot smaller than the first however as we was on the end and at the top we had no one above us or attached to us so noise was minimal but we could still hear the music from the bar (wasn't too much of an issue because once it had stopped we all got a good night sleep) and going in high season it's going to be busier, the apartment was well equipped with kitchen utensils, iron, hairdryer and towels, wardrobes could do with more hangers in them especially for a family of 4.
Reception staff are so lovely nothing is too much trouble also the staff down at Bougainvillea bar work really hard all in all we had a lovely stay
My only negative I really didn't like the cocktails at Bougainvillea they didn't taste of anything probably the worst pina colada I've ever tasted and for the price I did expect it to be a lot better so a tad disappointed.
Top tips for anyone who's like me a light sleeper
Sea view apartments are furthest away from any noise and I'd definitely book that type of room next time also the view is beautiful I'd also pay extra for a 2 bedroom rather than 1 we found it to be a little cramped with 4 of us in the room
I'd also book all inclusive next time most of our money was spent on food so lesson learned for next time.
We look forward to returning in the future!

We have always been pleased with the accommodation booked through RCI and Alfagar did not disappoint. It is a large resort with a range of accommodation and useful facilities. Our 2-bed apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable with a fantastic view of one of the three pool areas then out to the sea. Some reviews comment that the apartments are a little worn. We found our apartment in good condition and while the furnishings are reminiscent of Ikea, we were mindful that the Alfagar is only a 3 star resort. Other than the quality of the furnishings, it felt like a 4 star resort
As the resort was only a 15 minute walk from the edge of the main reset of Albufeira, we considered the location a to be fantastic. The resort was peaceful yet close to as many shops, restaurants and bars as you could ever want. The fact that the resort leads straight onto a beautiful beach is another definite plus.
If there is a downside, it’s a small one that might not bother most people. The entertainment was hosted outdoors meaning that we could clearly hear music (and terrible ‘singing’ on karaoke night) from within apartment. So, if you like an early night, bring your ear plugs.
We’re thinking of booking again at Christmas because the positives far outweighed the one little niggle for us.

So let me start by saying this is by no way a negative post,
We love this place and have been coming for a good few years, and I always recommend it,
It’s location is perfect close enough to albuferia strip if you want to go but in a quieter location.
The fact you can use facilities of any hotel in complex is a real bonus.
The staff are amazing so friendly and work so hard,
And the flights and transfers with jet2 were faultless.
But and unfortunately there is a but,
Few changes we noticed not nessarily for the better ,
We loved that there was never sunbed wars at ridiculous times in the morning,
Pool opended at 9 originally and no towels or people were allowed before then,
Not sure if they were short staffed and tbf it was always or mainly the blue pool to aparthotel.
They also use to remove towels in a morning that were left and not returned to in an hour,
Which is fair as I saw so many young families not able to get beds at kiddie pools bc someone had reserved 10 beds and then disappeared most of the day .
My kids are older now and we moved to other pools because the blue pool is now chaotic with banging music all day ,
I’m not adverse to loud music at all but it was repetitive.
We always book village as it’s more quaint and authentic which we like ,
And while they have always been a bit tired they were always spotless,
Not so much this time unfortunately,
House keeping came in twice in our 10 days and 1 was day before we left.
I had to keep grabbing them for loo roll and clean towels,
We brought loo roll in the end .
And for first time ever or view was not great and we got bitten to death especially my poor hubby,
Not sure if it’s because our terrace was in the bushes lol.
I did email before as I always do and they accommodated my first floor request,
I had a knee replacement last year and struggle with steps .
We were half board and as always the food was lovely but the oliveria restaurant is too small to accommodate all the hotels,
We could now use the one in alto colina but that was packed too.
Tbh I was the only one in my family to get up for breakfast anyway most days and my hubby on occasion but people were taking your sunbeds so we did it seperatly.
The public areas are pristine and the staff are always so polite ,
And work so hard, but I think covid still impacting them because they appeared very short staffed in the bars.
I’d still recommend it to families especially with younger children as it really is perfect for that bougainvillea has had a refurb and food in there is lovely and they always have live music.
We are trying their sister hotel in old town next year.

Just stayed here end of June 2022 and with my partner and four year old (so out of school holiday period) but have to say one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at. The hotel and apartments are spotless and so many areas to explore - so many pools to choose from and the food in the breakfast and buffet areas were delicious. I also have to say staff were attentive, friendly and very helpful. There were loads of activities and the kids pools were brilliant. It’s well worth walking over to the sister hotel (5 mins walk across the road) which has more pools, splash park, playground and another kids club. It had a lovely friendly feel and the landscaping/gardens are just stunning. We also used the Alfagar Transfer service which was well worth it. Also highly recommend the Cafeteria restaurant which we went to on our last night - the hot stone steak was outstanding. My only top tip if with small children is avoid being too close to Barvina (main entertainment bar) which has live music till midnight everyday. If your in block one - it’s very close and I’m a light sleeper so I would have preferred block 3 or 4.

Had an amazing family stay at the Alfagar village. From check in to check out we found the staff amazing and always very helpful. This was our little boys first ever holiday and he had a ball, so much for young children, so many pools and the beach was wonderful too. Quite a walk down some steps to the beach but amazing scenery and totally worth it, my 2 year old walked it himself. We spent most off our time round by the pool at the Alfagar apartments which was brilliant. We also spent a day at the sister complex the Colina which again looks a beautiful resort, loads for children.
Apartment.
We had a 2 bedroom apartment it also had 2 bathrooms which was very handy as my mother was with us so she had her own space, the apartment was cleaned daily, and throughly. Many people said they found the shop expensive we didn’t it was average based on anywhere else, we loved the shop for essentials and snacks. We really are looking forward to returning again.

We stayed at Alfagar Village twice previously and was so impressed with the complex that we booked again this year.
We were again highly delighted. We were a group of 5 ladies and this was taken into account without having to ask, we were all given an apartment that had 5 single beds.
The apartment was extremely clean and serviced every other day, it was spacious, well appointed and had all the necessary equipment & utensils should we have wanted to fully self cater.
The gardens, grounds and pools were all spotlessly clean and well cared for.
There are a good variety of places to eat and drink at within the complex that are very reasonably priced and the food was excellent in all.
There was also a good variety of entertainment that covers all age groups.
The staff without exception were professional, friendly and always extremely helpful.
On leaving the hotel one of our party had left their passport & some money in the hotel. Julie from reception was brilliant she rang us and helped us to arrange for a taxi to transfer the items to us at the airport. This is just one example of the wonderful customer experience and service that we received,
Would we return again - ABSOLUTELY we are already looking to book for next year.
Would I recommend to family and friends - certainly and have as the apart hotel caters extremely well for all ages.
