Excellent and professional detox in this small villa with a very friendly and well qualified staff team. Situated 15 minutes walk from a stunning Sandy beach we enjoyed delicious juicing and light vegan meals between exercise yoga and spa treatments all in a most hospitable atmosphere. Highly recommend.

This was my first time at Vila Mimosa. I’ve been on detox retreats before, but this is by far my best experience. From the outset, you are made to feel totally welcome. In fact, every guest receives individual attention and a bespoke programme.
The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, but there are plenty of activities to occupy the day. I especially enjoyed the scenic walks (the coastline here is breathtaking) and the aqua jogging is great fun.
What I particularly like is the option to do mild fasting, so you are not just restricted to vegetable juices (tasty though these are), but can also eat beautifully prepared food made from fresh and healthy ingredients.
Above all, the staff are conscientious and enthusiastic. Living in London, I have come to expect a high level of service, and I wasn’t disappointed. I was really impressed with the treatments from Nicole, assessments by Marcio, the best colonic ever by Kirsten, Filipe’s injection of humour, and Joseph’s nightly stargazing sessions, which are truly out of this world.

A safe and friendly environment in which to detox, relax and have some self care time. The team are so dedicated to their cause. Lots of amazing walks, yoga and treatments and the mild fasting food if you choose to eat is exceptional.

This retreat covers all basis. The wonderful, caring staff look after everyone as individuals. You are able to juice or add delicious mild fasting for breakfast and lunch. The daily routine includes yoga, stretching, walking, aqua jogging, body shape and spa treatments that enhance detoxing.

After a long winter, it was a delight to spend a week detoxing and relaxing at Vila Mimosa. Guided through various exercises by very knowledgeable and charming staff, I feel invigorated and re-energised. A much needed break with a bit of me-time in the perfect setting by the beach.

I was taken to Vila Mimosa by a very dear and generous friend who failed to tell me that this wasn't just a 'Health Spa' but a Detox centre for mind, body and soul! Never would this have been my first choice for a holiday which has always involved sun, sea, sand and sangria but I am now a complete convert having never once felt hungry and surprising myself with the amount of voluntary exercise and early nights that all went to making me feel re-energised, slimmer, fitter and with several new friends of different nationalities. Karen and Kees are the delightful owners and have the most amazing ability to welcome everyone and take a special personal interest on a daily basis. Team Mimosa make every effort to encourage without dictating to bring out the best in everyone they instruct and become firm friends by the end of the stay. I will be back and have so far managed to put into practice some of the things I learnt not to mention staying in touch with other members of our group. It was as though we were one large family and the dynamic between all was brilliant. I absolutely and without hesitation would recommend this as a break to recharge either as a single traveller, or with friends, to relax and enjoy all that Vila Mimosa has to offer......you will not be disappointed!

It is like a wonderful family. The staff are so great, but even better than that the people who go are so much fun. It is the best holiday and you even loose weight. What's not to love!! Been twice and already booked for third time.

For surfing, at the beach closest to Vila Mimosa (10 min walking) you can have some basic surfing. But if you want big waves, I recommend visiting the west coast (40 min by car).
