Eden Villas & Apartments is often celebrated for its exceptional service, with staff members who are noted for their friendliness and helpfulness. Although guests love the spacious and clean rooms, some have raised concerns regarding maintenance and comfort. Despite its tranquil location near the old town, visitors have criticized the value, pointing out costly extras and limited facilities. The resort's cleanliness and family-friendly atmosphere with lively entertainment are well-regarded, yet noise levels and the need for refurbishments have been mentioned as downsides.

Just returned from a great week at Eden with my wife and 3 yr old daughter. The resort is spotless and the grounds are manicured to perfection. There is a feeling of spaciousness and everywhere has a very modern feel. 3 great pool areas with my only criticism being they are cold even in August which bothered the adults much more than the kids. The highlight is the accommodation. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment which was very large, had modern and comfortable furniture and a very well equipped kitchen. Wifi is excellent both in the room and around the resort and it is free of charge. It is a 10 min walk down a very steep hill to a very good supermarket and a 25 minute walk downhill to the old town. Taxis back ranged from 4-6 euros and are very easy to access. Covid measures were adhered to with all guests wearing masks indoors and whilst being served at the pool bar. Staff could be seen sanitising continually throughout the day. Not everything was open and there was no entertainment which is a result of the C19 situation. I would return but with a car so i could explore the wider area instead of needing a taxi. There was a mix of English and Portuguese guests which made for a very nice atmosphere. I think this place is ideal for families or couples wanting a relaxing break away from the centre of the resort but with easy access to Albufeira.

Just back from our 3rd stay at the Eden Resort, yet again we enjoyed it. The staff are all so helpful, cheerful and efficient, all of them deserve fantastic praise.
Having first been here 2 years ago we had 2 holidays cancelled during lockdown and the reception staff were fantastic in making the changes stress free. Our last 2 stays came in quick succession, one with friends followed by one with partners, the reception staff even looked after some of our things for us between visits and saw that we went back in to the same villa for the second visit.
During these worrying time we always felt safe there. The amount of cleaning that goes on in all areas is incredible, the dining room has hand gel and plastic gloves available to everyone and tables, chairs etc are continually wiped down.
Food and drink is excellent, the quality of the food is amazing. It is always fresh, hot and there is plenty of choice. Staff in the dining room are very helpful, one of our party wanted gluten free and was escorted round at each meal time to explain what she could have, or was cooked separate food. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
The pools are great, one especially for smaller children with great facilities. Another, used by the majority of adults and children with great entertainment from a fantastic group of talented people. There is also a lovely big adults only pool which is quiet and relaxing. There is never a need to fight for sun beds- there are plenty available all day every day.
My one complaint is that all areas for drinks in the evening are taken over by families with young children. They have a great time and really enjoy the entertainment which is great for them. An adult only bar would be very nice for older couples who cannot go anywhere for a quiet drink other than back to their accommodation. There used to be a bar upstairs but this has been made into a paying restaurant- which I saw 1 couple go to in 10 days and most days it was closed. I feel the place may lose its ‘couples’ clientele if this continues.
Accommodation was brilliant, we had a 2 bedroom villa that had loads of space, big clean bedrooms, lovely seating area both inside and outside. WiFi throughout the complex is excellent and readily available free. All the grounds are well kept but it can be a little dark at night,
We were all inclusive, it was excellent value for money - would recommend it to anyone. For the villa food and drink it was about £1200 for us all for a week. Brilliant 🤩

We've visited Eden Resort before and since then a few changes have been made. The smaller of the 2 pools has been made into a "Kids zone" which is great for under 10's. There are no sun loungers here now (just chairs) so it makes the main pool a lot busier. After 10am you'd struggle to get more than 2 beds together.

The restaurant and reception area's have had a face lift, the rooms however could do with a bit of maintenance. Noticeable chips, scuffs, marks and signs of constant use - especially the bathrooms which really are not 4star.

The staff are really what make this resort special though and specific praise for Andreala on reception and John & Jacob in the restaurant. All of whom are a credit to the resort, went above and beyond expectations. The entertainment team are also fantastic and very talented. Pretty much completely all new staff since our last visit, and now mainly Portuguese rather than English entertainers but its certainly not a problem as they are all very good with multiple languages and very approachable.

A few niggles, the cleaning standard wasn't the best. Specifically in the bathrooms. They are in need of a refurb. Simple things like filling handwash and shampoo wasn't done, they were all empty on arrival and we needed to ask, this should be a basic check and task. We also had several ants, both alive and dead that were never cleaned throughout the apartment, in fact by the end we had piles of dead ants outside the entrance points that were never swept away or removed.

The apple bar has now been closed and replaced by an a la carte restaurant. The previous a la carte offering was far better, both in the location (Eden cafe) and food offerings. They now also charge for children, basically paying for the same food the kids can get from the downstairs buffet. It is a nice touch though and breaks up the routine of eating in the same environment. The problem this causes is that the evening bar can be completely over run. The position of the bar has been moved, and there is a separate one in the refurbed reception area but that bar never seemed to be used. It could take quite a while to wait for drinks, especially if multiple cocktails where being made in front of you, it also seemed quite random as to who got severed between the indoor queue and the outside serving hatch.

Having said all that, its a fab place to go. Location is only 25 min walk from the old town, a bit hilly on the way back but nice to get out and stretch your legs after all the fantastic food and drink that is available.

We spent 2 weeks at Eden Resort. We found the animation and entertainment team worked really hard and were full of enthusiasm. Our children enjoyed most activities they attended - cookie making, pyjama parties, face painting, treasure hunts etc. The animation team really deserve this acknowledgment - they work so so hard. They remember children’s names and they really do their best to make sure the children have a great time every day.
The shuttle bus driver was also really pleasant and as Eden Resort is in a remote location this service was very useful (but limited to morning and late afternoon and not available past 6.15pm).
Accommodation is really spacious but in need of repairs and cleaning. The accommodation was not properly cleaned by the cleaners who attended most days eg dirty towels left on the floor (as the signage tells you to leave them on the floor if you wish them to be replaced) were folded and put back on shelves as if to suggest clean towels had been provided. Bath mat in one bathroom was removed and never replaced so we had to use a hand towel as a bath mat in this bathroom. Soap dispensers not refilled. Broken toilet seat. Overflowing bins were sometimes not emptied and while the floor was usually mopped dust was always not first swept up. The photos attached will show examples of the disrepair. Bugs (some were ants, some were ants with wings) in all rooms and on and in beds every night. You lie in bed and can feel them crawling on you and landing on you. You wake up to find the ones you have killed during the night in the bed with you. It is important to say we never had any food or drinks in the bedrooms so there was nothing we did to attract insects.
The pool area is unclean also - tiles around the pool not regularly swept and washed. The same can be said of the terrace outside of the accommodation for example cigarette butts (presumably left behind by a previous guest were there on our arrival and remained there for our whole stay.)

We stayed at the resort as a family (2 adults and 4 children, age 2, 8, 10 and 12) and had a truly great stay. The resort were very COVID aware but didn’t make it so noticeable around the resort and were discreet when spraying bin handles etc, which was good.
The staff that we dealt with were all extremely polite and professional and nothing was too much trouble, and the staff that we didn’t deal with were all happy and polite and said hello with smiles on their faces (under their masks!).
The pool area and pool bar/cafe was great, the kids loved the pool and the kids pool also, playing on the slides and the bouncy inflatable. The food was great and not overly expensive.
The villa was just brilliant, very big and spacious, two big bedrooms with en-suites and a third room downstairs with a double sofa bed. The kitchen had everything that you could want on a self catering holiday, the lounge was very comfortable (although didn’t spend too much time there) and the outside space was perfect.
The resort is a 10 mins walk to the Old Town so we went there every evening for a meal, a couple of drinks and a walk around the shops. It is not as busy as normal for this time of year but busy enough and the majority of bars/restaurants/shops were open.
Overall it was a fantastic break, would definitely recommend the resort and will 100% be going back.

Just back from a week at the Eden Resort. 2 adults and 2 children ages 11 and 15. We had a 2 bed villa and was absolutely lovely. Really good furnishings, comfortable beds and really spacious. We were on an all inclusive stay and really enjoyed the breakfast lunch and dinner. Yes as it says in previous reviews there is not a huge choice but the quality of food was excellent and there was something for everyone every day. I don’t go on holiday to eat British food so I thought the food was great. The drinks were good including the cocktails but I was disappointed that there were no mojitos on the drinks list. Waiting staff in the restaurant were very attentive and were quick in asking you for your drinks order and cleaning all the tables etc. Do be warned that the restaurant does resemble a school dinner hall at times. When we were there there was lots of families with young children which did make dinner times very noisy. There was an outside eating area which was a lot quieter but obviously is only suitable in warmer weather. We did use the tennis court one day for something else to do which was good, the courts could do with a bit of a spruce up as are looking a bit tired. It would have been helpful if the staff had give out information regarding what facilities were available and what was and wasn’t included in the all inclusive. There appeared to be an upstairs restaurant of which we weren’t told about. Some information could have been put up on a notice board or something to help guests. My biggest gripe was probably the lack of mask wearing by guests in the restaurant. We always wore ours in and out of the restaurant and during our food selection. Unfortunately most never wore one at all despite the signs asking people to wear them. Children were allowed to select their food without adults which led to some instances of coughing over food and touching of food without the utensils. Eden resort staff need to challenge guests on mask wearing, Outside the hotel mask wearing is mandatory so more definitely needs to be done. All in all a nice stay and would return.

As of the 1st of October the use of masks is no longer mandatory in Portugal, and, therefore, we cannot enforce this. It has to be by personal choice. Only our workers are still obliged to use their masks in the Resort, when indoors. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Visited Eden resort in May this year with 2 children (6&4) and we had an extremely positive experience. Check in staff were excellent very helpful and accommodating. The 2 bed villa we stayed in was spotlessly clean, very well proportioned, stair gates top and bottom added an extra layer of safety and A/C in every room made for a very relaxing base. Main pool and kids pool were very well maintained, water temperature was a little cold but it was May and we’d expect that, pool bar with snacks and drinks was great and not too busy which was great. Buffet food at breakfast lunch and dinner was really good, lots of options with different theme’s but always had the simple food for fussy eaters like our kids! Restaurant staff were very nice and the hotel mascot (Eddie) evens makes an appearance at breakfast which the kids loved. Indoor pool and spa was excellent, very friendly staff and again excellent service even had a WhatsApp chat function for questions and bookings which was really efficient. Kids entertainment during the day was a nice bonus, staff were nice and the mini disco each evening was a hit. Evening shows like birds of prey, reptiles, fire show etc were fantastic and the entertainment team who put on most of the shows themselves were extremely talented. The resort location was close to the town we used Uber as we had small children with us costing only €4 which was extremely efficient for getting around. Overall we’ve no negative comments about the resort we’d a very enjoyable stay, would most definitely stay again and would recommend the resort for those with smaller children.

Our family had 6 days of relaxation and enjoyed the size of our accommodation There was a large kitchen well equipped with microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, oven and hob. My electric kettle wasn't working properly and it was replaced immediately. Would have liked a small amount of washing up liquid and dishcloth to get us going but we did get two tea towels. There was a large front room with dining table for 6 and two settees:sofa beds with tv.
The TV has to be kept on for the internet to work but it was a good signal. Outside was another table and chairs and two sun beds on a nice patio leading to pool area which was very spacious and has 2 large pool and 2 child pool and one adult pool
Up a large staircase there was two bedrooms one double and one twin room both with en-suite
The rooms were very large and beds comfy with extra bedding if needed they both had baths with shower over but I would have preferred one walk in shower. We were surprised that we also had a maid service. You can also order fresh bread to be delivered to your door and at the time you want it
We enjoyed the indoor pool sauna and steam room
There was a free bus to the beach and town about 5 mins away on the hour
The whole site is spacious and painted in pastel colours so pleasing to eye
They have a mini market, cafe and restaurant but this was shut as we were out of season
They are now shut for refurbishment till April but we will go again for sure

Stayed here as a family of 5 (kids 9,12,15) for 10 days 7-17th Aug. Having stayed back in 2017 we knew it would be a safe bet to return. Hotel is lovely and the grounds beautiful. Having your own space in a villa is perfect especially for a family of 5. The resort is small and more personal than big hotels. Very clean and friendly with nice guests. We found it actually an improvement over '17.
We were not happy with our room location at first. So I promptly complained on the hotel what's app, they were understanding and we were put on a list to move. I kept in contact with the staff and finally we moved 2 days after arriving to a great location that looked out onto a carp pond. Room 123, fully recommend asking for it (ahead of arrival). Staff were very helpful!
Food was nice, hot and plenty of local choice. Dining area and food serving was spotless at all times. Even at busy times it was ok to navigate.
All in all I fully recommend this hotel for kids under 12. I think kids over that age it is not as geared up for. Entertainment staff were so happy, one even spent her day whizzing round on a unicycle 😊.
Bits I would change - they need a quiet pool for families who do not want pool speakers playing all the time. The adult pool is quiet and lush but no good for kids... The splash pool is great for toddlers/young kids. But this used to be the quiet family pool. So I think they have lost that aspect over our last visit.
They were good at removing towels. But large groups still dominate beds. Basically they bucked the system if towels left got a note, they would just remove a note. This was unfortunate as a large group (we nicknamed Essex row) would reserve about 20 of the best beds each morning at stupid o'clock. You would then see members turn up about 11/12 o'clock without a regard for other guests. But, generally towel wars were not too bad at this hotel. The staff were more active than most places.
Lastly, two other things I would change: better approach to the hotel, plant some grass and gardens out the front for more wow factor upon arrival. The other would be more indoor seating areas for the cool evenings, there was not enough room to sit.
Other than that, excellent place, so book with confidence!

I never write hotel reviews but I felt like the resort and staff at Eden Resort were so incredible I needed to write one. We stayed as a family of 4 including a 12 month old and 3 year old in a two bedroom villa. For those who are looking for an effortless family holiday then this resort is really tailored to families of young children. The rooms had blackout curtains, cots and high chairs as a standard and stair gates on the stairs, the children's splash park was perfect to keep young children entertained and a splash area where my son could crawl around without getting his feet/knees burned. The hotel provides a shuttle service to the old town which comes complete with baby and booster seats for children and these run every couple of hours which was perfect for us. There is also filtered water stations throughout the hotel which is great for kids who constantly wanted a drink but also reduced the carbon impact of plastic bottles which was a nice touch.

We stayed self catering and the kitchen was incredibly well equipped to enable us to make simple meals throughout the 2 weeks we stayed. Next time we return we will 100% stay all inclusive as everyone was saying that the food was lovely and fresh but couldn’t comment ourselves.

The staff couldn’t have done more to help make our stay as comfortable as possible, we were badly let down by our transfer company on the way to the airport and the reception staff were able to arrange a quick replacement within 5 minutes of our transfer being cancelled so we made it on time for our very early morning flight.

Overall well worth a 5 star review and we can’t wait to return next year!

From the website.. During the high season there is a daily and evening entertainment programme for adults and children (April - October). In the low season, the adult entertainment programme runs 3 days a week (November - March) and the children's entertainment programme (Kids Club) is available 5 days a week with a variety of activities.

It is roughly 20 min walk to the Old Town where you will find bars & restaurants. It's all downhill, therefore quite a yomp back home! Ubers take around 5 mins and roughly 5Euro.

All the info you require is on the website….. “ Aqua Fun Park's guaranteed opening dates are from May to September, in April and October it depends on the weather and in the months between November and March inclusive it is closed.” The indoor pool is heated from September until May, with restricted hours for children.
