The Santa Eulalia Suite Hotel & Spa garners praise for its cleanliness overall, though the spa pool and cleaning frequency occasionally fall short, according to some travelers. While the staff's friendliness is often highlighted, encounters with rudeness have been noted by others. The hotel's location is a hit for those seeking nearby nightlife and beaches, yet it remains a quiet retreat. Opinions on value are split, with guests appreciating the reasonable pricing but balking at unexpected fees and amenities that sometimes disappoint. The pool area is generally well-received, despite calls for updates and improved cleanliness. Rooms are recognized for their spaciousness, yet many guests would welcome more rigorous maintenance and modernization.

This hotel was a really great find The accommodation was tremendous value very comfortable and great for a self catering stay. Good facilities with pool and garden area to catch some lovely winter sunshine. A little disappointed with the spa pool very shallow and not very big especially if you wanted to swim but the sauna and steam room were good. The restaurant and snack options were really good value and if I'm honest the best food options locally. There was a least some choice not like the local vendors who seemed to cater only for the British breakfast or fast food crowd. To be honest have yet to stay in another hotel that was such good value for food and drink Large red wine only €2 a glass and very drinkable, Daily cocktail only €5.The staff in the bar and restaurant were really lovely and very helpful. One criticism only the

The in house cleaning whilst they did a very good job usually didn't turn up until 16:30/17:00 which frankly is just too late in the day, especially as you are running out of daylight and you can't be expected to spend all day out of the apartment in winter. It became a game of hit and miss with the cleaners which I found very annoying Frankly I would have rather have cleaned the apartment myself had there been somewhere to pick up clean towels and empty the rubbish.
However would definitely choose this venue if I were to stay in Albufeira again, if you can get used to the lateness of the cleaning its a great place

The hotel and our room was clean. Kitchen was clean and was small but just what was needed, Staff were pleasant, helpful. Location was good, old town was easy to get to by either bus, tuk tuk or taxi. The walk was a bit to far for us coming back.

Things I was disappointed in were; that the maid service is very late in the day, about the time most people have a little relax in their rooms. One maid pulled a face when we wanted 5 minutes to get our belongings together and leave the room at 5pm. Bathroom was a bit old and it was smelly. We had to remember to keep the plugs in to stop a drain / eggy smell. I also had booked the hotel in part because of the indoor pool as it was December but this is expensive if you just want a quick swim in the small pool as you have to pay a daily full spa price and also buy swimming hats. Children have to pay a daily price to swim as well.

Dear Alison, Thank you for taking the time to share your great review of your recent stay at Santa Eulalia Hotel & SPA We are thankful to read that our team took care of your every need during your stay with us and delighted to read you also enjoyed our Suites as well as the hotel facilities. Regarding You’re not so good comments, As a manager i would like to know the apartment number in which you were with us. For that i kindly ask you to send me an email to g.campos.sa@conforhoteis.pt. it is very important for us to get to know these less so good examples. Regarding the maid service, first and foremost they start their working day by preparing all arrivals for clients arriving until early afternoon. As explained upon check-In Process, if any client has a special need, regarding the daily cleaning timetable, we must be informed in the reception accordingly to act upon our client’s needs. Regarding the SPA (where the interior heated pool is located), yes the access is payed. It is a symbolic price (daily price - meaning that clients can enter and leave daily, as many times as they want). Yes, children pay also, as using guest, but only half price. If these services would not be charged, It would not be comfortable for guest as our pool has 4 metres by 8 meters. We look forward to welcoming back soon. Kind Regards Dear Guest,

Just had a long weekend break at this fantastic hotel. The rooms were lovely, the staff very friendly and the food we had for breakfast and our evening meal was excellent. We spent the morning in the hotel's spa as it was raining, it was well worth the €17 for two people including a swim cap that we had to purchase to use the pool. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to the lively strip area, most of the bars etc are shut at this time of year, and about a 45 minute walk into Albufeira. There is a lovely beach that is around 10 minutes away with a lovely beach bar there. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate in returning in the future.

Stayed for 4 nights over New Year.

Was very impressed with the hotel. All public areas are very clean and modern. All the staff we encountered were very friendly.

Our apartment wasn’t ready when we arrived about 2 so we had a short wait in the bar area. Bought 2 drinks which were reasonably priced and had a slice of complimentary cake.

Our apartment was huge with nice furniture. Plenty of cupboards and drawers for storage. Comfy beds and bedding. 2 single beds pushed together rather than a double which seems the norm in Europe. Large bathroom with good shower over bath. Large living area with 2 sofas and dining table. Kitchenette with microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge. Crockery and cutlery. 2 balconies - 1 from living room and 1 from bedroom.

Very nice breakfast buffet in the morning with plenty of choice. We are both vegetarian and had plenty to eat. The food was warm and replenished as soon as it ran out. The restaurant is on the lower ground floor with the spa so smells nice.

The only criticism I have is with the times that the cleaning is done. It wasn’t done usually until 5.00-6.00 pm when we wanted to go back for a rest. The only time the cleaners arrived in the morning was on New Years Day when we wanted a lie in! It wasn’t a problem as they came back later. I have seen since on here that you can request an earlier clean but we weren’t told about this. I can see this would be a problem in the summer if you had been using the pool during the day as 5.00-6.00 would probably be the time you wanted to shower. We didn’t feel that we could miss having our room cleaned either due to not being able to flush toilet paper in the toilet and having to use a bin instead. The bin really needs to be emptied every day.

I would still recommend this hotel though as it’s good points certainly outweighed the not so good

We have just got home from here. Reception is absolutely beautiful and smells amazing!

Pool area very clean.

If you want a relaxing holiday this is the place for you.

We stayed 10 nights and though we had a few stags and general rowdy girls/lads holidays over the first weekend, during the second week it died down.

Maid service is always later on in the day which is very annoying as your u get back to your rooms and want to start getting ready and you get a knock on the door. Balcony was only cleaned once or twice whilst we was here and so small due to AC unit, beds always made and fresh towels but apart from that, nothing else is really done, literally spend 2/3 mins in here, so if you go to the beach and end up with sand on the floor, expect to live with it for the remainder of your stay! Kitchen very basic but room does meet all needs. The bathroom is ok but mould in grout. We had a rubbish view of car park at back of the hotel.

We went half board and May aswell have been self catering, we tried breakfast 3 times and only liked the pastry and fruit section, cooked breakfast was not nice at all, especially the bacon and sausage.

Evening meal was definitely not acceptable for a 4 star hotel, very minimal choice and not very nice food at all, we regret spending the extra money and would definitely recommend to be self catering here. We had tea here 1 night, the 2nd time we tried we looked at the food and walked straight back out.

No entertainment or music around the pool, pool bar isn’t very ideal, sunbeds very cheap and flimsy and the way the hotel is built you need to be very choosy where you get a sunbed, you either stay in the shade or stay in the sun, no inbetween as you don’t have individual umberellas just a few fixed ones around the pool.

Great location 10 mins from strip, 2-5 mins from local closer bars and super markets.

Overall I would come here again, for a shorter stay and definitely self catering, the evening food and overall entertainment really lets the hotel down in my opinion

We found a really nice small quiet beach whilst here called ‘Praia dos Aveiros’ definitely recommend beautiful place just 20 mins walk from hotel down the road from Kiss Nightclub, The beach down the road from hotel was awful smelt really bad and toilet roll washing up on the beach! Beach at bottom of strip very nice and busy with lots of water sports too!

We have just returned from a week staying at the Santa Eulalia .We had a suite with pool view on the ground floor, and were self catering. Our suite was lovely, of a high standard of cleanliness and decor.Lots of storage space .
There is a sitting room, bedroom with twin beds together to make a double, bathroom with bath and shower, a kitchen area with all you need, and a small balcony with table & 2 chairs.
The cleaners come every day, later in the day, which suited us as we like to have leisurely mornings and not have to be disturbed too early. We did have to ask for clean towels after 4 days, as they hadn’t been changed. They were brought straight away.
The hotel is lovely, with a spacious , well presented reception area, bar and sitting areas. It smells so nice and fresh. The staff were all very helpful and professional, couldn’t do enough for you.
I didn’t use the pool area, it’s just not my thing as I prefer the beach, which is fantastic and only a 10 minute walk away.I did use a sun lounger in the garden area one afternoon, but was bothered by flies ! I was amused each morning by watching the stampede to the sun loungers ! The pool area is opened at 9 am, with a queue forming before that, then a rush to claim your bed. There may have been less loungers available due to Covid 19 , there didn’t seem to be sufficient for the number of guests.
The beds were thoroughly disinfected each day.
The measures put in place for safety due to the Coronavirus were reassuring.Masks always worn, plenty of hand sanitizer stations and social distancing. We felt very safe.
The area itself is nice enough.Teasers restaurant, next to the hotel is lovely .There are lots of bars, restaurants and shops close by, with a larger supermarket only minutes away.
The old town is best visited by taxi.Hotel reception ordered us a taxi, and we spent a day in the lovely old town. The hotel also sells tickets for the Hop on Hop off bus tours, which we like as you get a good view of all the town.
We booked a trip to the gipsy market at Quarteria from the excursion place not far from the hotel.Worth a visit if you enjoy markets and bartering.
On the whole, we enjoyed this hotel very much, and would definitely recommend it.We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food.We would certainly return.

we stayed here for 10days in June22 and our room was 222. The hotel staff were friendly and the rooms where clean and couldn't fault pool/bar area. We had a 1 bedroom apart and our first issue was the fact both balconies were extremely small and had both aircon units on the balconies too therefore even if we wanted to sit out it wouldn't of been possible. Second issue we had was the maid service we were with our four year old who like most children wanted to nap after being down at the pool all day and maids service thought it was okay to knock on the door at 5/5:30pm every-night which was not ideal as our child was still asleep most of the time and we were trying to get ready for the night ahead so after 7days of having to turn away maids we had enough and complained to the reception, who were very apologetic and the for the remaining three days our rooms were clean around 10am. Thirdly the doors to apart were very thin so anyone coming home late etc to the hotel u could hear them speaking or drunk singing from your room but no noise necessarily after they had entered their own rooms which was ok and manageable. There was two stags and a hen at the hotel which it clearly states not allowed but only one group of stags were inappropriate with dissolving swim shorts where he then exposed the children to his private region. The stag did mention the hotel were not happy with them.

On a positive note, the hotel was clean, staff was friendly, food and drink was reasonable and our Aircon was fabulous so much so we had to turn it off sometimes as we were too cold! we were self-catering and our kitchenette was perfect and fridge was really cold so no need to worry about food going bad. We did have to buy washing up liquid but can get it from a supermarket round the corner for 2euro. Hotel has great WIFI throughout and some nights there is local entertainment which you cant hear from your room if you wanted an early night. Good location for the hotel as it was a 10minute walk to the strip which I don't recommend if you have a family as its too rowdy. less than 5minute walk to a supermarket. Never used the SPA except for their towels which we were able to get fresh ones everyday and they did the trick instead of having to pack some. The pool area was great it wasn't a free for all with sunbeds and relatively small hotel which suited us perfectly as it wasn't too busy.

I would return to this hotel under the condition of a bigger balcony.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback on Trip Advisor following your recent stay at Santa Eulália Hotel & Spa. We value each and every Guests review and appreciate the time you take out to write them. It has been writen in a very extensive maner and we apreciate all the inputs as well as apointments of what has ot be improved, under your opinion. Unfortunately we have to highlight the Hen & Stag comments. It is true that we do not allow those types of celebrations to come into our houtels, altough each day more, they are coming as indivdual guests and individual reservations. Only after arrival, we understand that, in fact, they all know each other. We here at Santa Eulália we aim to please and satisfy our guests and truly excel to provide an unforgettable and memorable Holiday Experience. We were very happy to have it acomplished with you. We will be waiting your return in Sunny Albufeira, Best regards,

We stayed in the hotel for a week in May. Our expectations were high for a 4 star hotel and spa.
The only spotless area was the lobby, it gives an amazing impression as you walk in.
Our room was 305, there was daily cleaning(the cleaning ladies were lovely) but only beds changes, fresh towels and nothing else done, at least we couldn’t tell. Mould in the bathroom just a bit outdated room with smears on the walls. The kitchenette ok for a cup of tea or coffee or a piece of toast but not really enough room for doing anything else. Could do with some washing up liquid, sponge and a tea towel. Bring your own tea/coffee/sugar as there is only 2 sashes of each at the start and not being refilled.
Not much of entertainment, only one night there was a singer. The bar area was very quiet, the barman and bar lady didn’t speak much English. During lunch Miguel was the only one and smiling all the time, very welcoming that’s what you want on your holiday.
One day when sunbathing a couple couldn’t find free sun loungers so had to wait.
If you’re like me a light sleeper, you’ll be able to hear everything like chairs being moved, people coming back from clubs inside and outside of a hotel.
We were going to use the spa facilities €12 for a couple, but they asked us to wear swimming cups and we couldn’t be bothered to pay another €6 or €8 for them.

Ok the positives, all of all we had a pleasant stay. The location is good, close to the strip ( party street) and not far from the beautiful Old Town( about 40min walk ) . The pool was clean, the lunch menu had a good choice of wraps, salads, pastas. We had a nice view (partly sea view) from the balcony. We’ve been going out most days to restaurants, pubs, stayed in the strip one night which was fun but it does get wild. Been to Albufeira for the first time and we do prefer Lagos to be honest. Love Portugal for the slower life and less humid climate, would definitely visit again but different part.
Would recommend the dolphin search trip, we booked it with Zebra Safari Tours. We had half a day in a jeep visiting a castle, windmill, churches etc and other half on the boat ( dolphins and caves). Really hot in the jeep and it gets a little bit boring after a while but the second part was amazing, we’ve seen lots of dolphins!!

Me and my partner stayed here a week before Christmas. Beautiful hotel and decor throughout the entire building. Rooms are modern and comfortable, especially the fact we only opted for a studio room. We were very impressed!

We went half board (they don't do all inclusive) as a lot of restaurants in the area would have been closed for the holidays. The breakfast is "OK", standard egg, bacon, sausages, fruit and variety of cakes/pastries/bread. The scrambled egg is very runny and was the whole stay, bacon was sweetcured and wasn't tasty, beans were economy quality you could tell from the taste and the pastries and bread were not fresh so tasted off. Selection is also very small and the food is rarely hot, no matter what time you go.

That was bad enough, but then we went for dinner.. You get a set menu which you can choose options from a menu, but beware the options are minimal and the menu is very basic. Even though we paid for half board, drinks were not included so you have to pay for those. You get bread before the meal but again, it's not fresh so barely edible. I got a mixed grill but really all it was is 2 pork chops and 2 chicken breasts with some chorizo. The pork was uncooked, the chicken breast was not seasoned and looked old and the chorizo was burnt black to a crisp. I was surprised they even took it out the kitchen. As the days went on the food got worse. One day was fish which was not fully cooked throughout and another day spag bol which was very salty and clearly pork. After day 3, we gave up and began to eat out.

All in all, beautiful place to stay but please avoid the food at least until they fire the chefs.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel before Covid. It is by no means a luxury hotel, but it is still lovely. It is worth the money and in a great location.

The rooms were the best part about this hotel, and we had a huge room, with a lounge, kitchen facilities and large bedroom.

The breakfast that was included had a wide variety and accommodated to vegetarians, plus it was very good!

The strip is only about 5 mins walk away, and the local beach was about 5 mins walk too.

There are many bus stops nearby, and it is easy to travel around.

The only bad thing about this hotel was the pool. The hotel wraps around the pool like a donut and it feels extremely claustrophobic and closed in. I wouldn't stay here for luxury, but for a cheap getaway that is close to amenities, you cannot go wrong!
