#1 of 6 B&Bs / Inns in Bluefields

Luna Sea Inn is a small property with ten unique rooms, nine with full ocean views and either a deck or verandah furnished with Adirondack chairs. It is located off the beaten path in Belmont, Bluefields Jamaica, about midway between Negril and Treasure Beach. Positioned on a tiny peninsula the hotel is surrounded on three sides by the Carribean Sea. There is a small man made beach next to a public beach used by one local fisherman. Scattered throughout the property are chaise lounges, sunning beds and Adirondack chairs. The picturesque gazebo sits surrounded by water. Here you can catch a breeze, sip a dozen cocktail, meet new friends and watch the most incredible sunsets in Jamaica. Our chefs takes the freshest local ingredients to gourmet heights. His use of callaloo (a local green) is nothing short of amazing. Try his appetizer sticks or have a packet of them! The guava jerk sauce he created has international guest chefs shaking their heads as they try to decipher the exact ingredients. From local cuisine to international to the fusion of the two, the best food in Jamaica is at Luna Sea inn. The entire hotel was gutted and renovated in 2015-16. Furniture is handmade from local cedar. The mattresses are pillow top with your choice of pillow. Expect to see towel swans or perhaps a turtle on your bed along with fresh flowers. An eco-friendly hotel with solar hot water but still extra towels to reuse at your discretion. Make up mirrors and full length mirrors are in every room. Smart TV is wall mounted in room and bar plus a giant outdoor TV in the courtyard, visible from the pool.

I stayed at Luna Sea Inn for 4 days and every day was an adventure without having to leave the hotel. Situated on the ocean edge the views are immaculate. They have paddle boards and kayaks available to explore the coast or snorkel at the natural reef only a short kayak away. The staff was attentive and kind, the food was always delicious, and the owners local connections made booking excursions a breeze.

I passed Luna sea in going to Kingston and just so stunning the location and property had to return to experience it . My first experience, a freindly welcome followed by a complimentary delicious cocktail at bar restaurant which is surrounded by the bay . I also had the pleasure of meeting Linda the owner whom I became immediate friends . The food is incredible , the snapper couldn't have been fresher or better prepared. The staff are great Nev the Manger efficient kind and freindly , Brain chief ,.Sadine housekeeping lovely Moses bartender to name a few all excellent team . The grounds so beautiful with a added bonus of a gazebo that jets out in the ocean with comfortable seats in where u can just feel your part of the bay with breaktaking views and big fish to view .The rooms all face the water and listening to the waves anytime even whilst in bed towas bliss . My room even had a rock shower and. window that looked out to bay ! A great touch for me real blue mountain coffee served with my delicious breakfast whilst mesmerized by the beauty all around me . A added bonus was snorkeling since surrounded by reef .using kayaking to near by caves or paddle boarding all equipment for use included in price anytime then laying in deck chairs without a trouble in the world. I just couldn't recommend this unquie gem of a inn perched on the bay anymore and so coming back !

We went for lunch here last week with a local friend. Such a cute seaside inn, beautiful location right on the water. The food was wonderful! We had a great time visiting and hanging out for the afternoon. The staff was very friendly.

This is our 6th trip to Jamaica. We decided to switch up our stay due to some better airfare a day before our normal travel date. We decided to stay at Luna Sea for one night before heading to our travel destination. Luna Sea was recommended to us by another traveler we know who stayed here over a year ago. Upon arrival we waited in the Lobby for at least 15 mins before someone yelled to another worker that there was people "waiting". Once they were there, we weren't greeted with a hello or welcome and from what i could understand they couldn't find our reservation at first. Once they found it they said follow me. We followed them into the entry way of the "hotel" which was not a great impression (personally to me first impresstions are very important). The entry way to the rooms had a none working fridge randomly there (i think) amoung freezers and pots and pans scattered. There was tables there with mismatched stuff, broken chairs, and some dirty plates and garbage. Once to our room they had us put down our stuff and then asked us how we were going to pay. They even asked us if we paid in full through booking.com because they didn't know. Once paid we didn't see any of them the rest of the night. I know this resort is small but no one ever offered to give us a tour or even just point out where this and that was. Once in our room we realized our bathroom door didn't shut all the way, some of the blinds were broken, the area where the coffee was, was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned, and everything electronic was unplugged. These things aren't deal breakers but for what we paid for our room, i was a little taken back. We did eat at the resturant and i will say it was a fabulous meal even though the service was very slow. We know in Jamaica it is slower at times and i am okay with that. But i did notice while we were there that the owner must have been throwing a party of some sort to some guests she knew. Which is fine, however, when all those people that are suppose to be helping other guests are taken away for that, i find that a little rude. I know many of the people around us were waiting a long time for food as well as we saw plates and plates of food being delivered to the "party". It was disappointing to see us guests being overlooked by this event. We waited for two hours total for our food and like i said, the food was worth the wait, but to me why we waited so long was disappointing. There is a "pool" i think (like i said we weren't really given a tour) however, there would be no way id go in that pool if it was one. Looked very dirty and it was smaller. Which for us it didn't matter as we were staying only one night, but if guests were staying here a week, i am sure they would be disappointed. I will say the location was amazing, you are right next to the water which was a huge pro in my opinion. We left promplty in the morning to our other resort. It saddens me to write this review because i have never left a so-so bad review on Trip Advisor but i just want other guests to be aware and hoping from this review changes could be made. We were very much hoping that this could be our go to place for one night and then head to other resort every time we come to Jamaica. But unfortuantly i do not believe that will happen again. Also, as a side note we stayed in a two bed room because there was four of us sharing room- when it states FREE BREAKFAST for your room, that is only for two of the guests, which is kind of weird. Although we didn't take advantage of that, if i wouldn't have clarified that we woudln't have known that before hand.

I apologize for your experience. As you can see from our reviews, your experience was not what our guests normally have. I do not understand why the room or pool were not clean or why no one offered to show you around. The issue with the refrigerator and other things is that we had just had a new one delivered and we had to move those outside. We were awaiting a truck to dispose of them. If you want to give us another try, please email me at lchidester@lunaseainn.com. I would love to have you come again. I am glad you enjoyed your meal but again, i apologize for the wait. The breakfast that is free is limited to two guests per room and children under twelve. Thanks Linda
