I can say, that I was clearly robbed by this hotel. I booked 2 rooms via Booking.com. 1 standard room with 2 beds and 1 studio with 2 bedrooms, each 1 single bed + 1 family bed. When we came, in studio it was only 1 room and 2 beds. Than hotel offered me another standard room. It did not make me happy, but accepted it. Than during check-out I was asked to pay extra room. Reception did not accepted, that I did not get the studio what I asked. Finally I paid twice more for less beds, than was Booking.com reservation. Absolutely crazy. Do not stay here, their policy is just to rob their clients.
Came to Tahiti for work and arrived around 9pm to check in. No receptionist on duty, just a night Porter. Opened my room door to the disgusting smell of stale cigarettes, supposedly a non smoking room! No hot water, had to boil a kettle to have a shave! Broken fittings, bathroom had mould all around the bath, the wooden toilet seat had swollen with urine splashes. Taps broken in the bath. The patio was a broken ankle waiting to happen with tiles missing. The best thing was being woken up at 1am, 3am and 5 am with cockerels crowing outside my room! This hotel is very, very tired and in need of a serious renovation. It was that bad I checked out the very next day and moved to another hotel. If you booked to stay here, I’d cancel while you still can!
When we arrived it was very dark. Very little lighting. They have a restaurant but only served food 3 days of the week. When we contacted them they told us the restaurant was serving food. Felt very uncomfortable only 2 men there no wifi in rooms. Desk closed at 9 had to call them to make a local call from our room. Felt very unsafe there so contacted another hotel to get us out of there. Still fighting to get a refund for that night and night we did not use
My husband and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago and found it delightful. The staff in the hotel were very helpful and extremely kind when our checked in luggage was delayed at the airport. I read the reviews prior to staying here and one or two stated that the decor in the rooms is dated. I really have to disagree - this gives the impression that it looks tired, but the furniture and decor is all in extremely good condition and spotlessly clean. The bed is the most comfortable we have ever slept in! We enjoyed some delicious meals in the restaurant which appeared to be very popular with local people for a special evening out. We particularly loved the grounds of the hotel - they are beautiful with lush vegetation and are very well maintained. If you do not like the black sand on the beach, then the hotel's swimming pool is the perfect alternative. I would thoroughly recommmend this hotel and the lovely people who work to make it a special place.…
When we told the taxi driver that we wanted to go to the Royal Tahitien he noted that it is a hotel that still reflects the old hotels. We were not sure what he meant. The hotel is not close to anything and beyond the local restaurant one can get provisions by walking a couple of minutes to a gas station. The grounds seem to be well maintained and during our stay they were used for a community party with lots of inflatable rides strewn everywhere. It did not seem to us that the hotel was full, yet we were placed in a room in a corner of one of the buildings. Most surprisingly, we learned that the reception is not open 24hrs and as we are leaving very early in the morning we had to close the account the night before and leave the keys in the room.
