If you are travelling in Ireland and are taking in the Connemara area, this B and B is very central for the area. We have stayed here twice and Mary is a superb host. Breakfast is wonderful and we will be back.
We stayed here for one night while visiting our daughter at the Gaeltacht Colaiste Cholumba and we honestly couldn't fault it. Spotless, well equipped room with lovely large shower in the en suite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities and excellent free wifi and flat screen TV. A beautiful house with ample parking, and a breakfast the next morning that would more than set you up for the day. There was a variety of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereal and gorgeous and plentiful cooked full Irish breakfast with toast and delicious home made brown bread. Mary was a lovely accommodating host who made us feel very welcome, and had no objection whatsoever in letting us have our daughter stay in the room with us at the last minute. And so reasonably priced. We couldn't recommend this B&B highly enough. Beimid air ais arís.…
Rooms where spotless and beds comfortable. All you needed in room. Breakfast was fantastic, brown bread was beautiful, Mary was a great host. Enjoyed our stay. Close enough to walk into village. Adequate parking.
It's the second time I've stayed in Carraroe House and each time have found it terrific. It's spotlessly clean and comfortable as Mary makes sure everything is tip top all the time. The breakfast is lovely and I think she gets the prize for the best brown soda bread in the west of Ireland! Absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it as THE place to stay in the area. In my opinion, it's the best.
We were expecting the B&B to be much smaller than it was and were pleasantly surprised by the lovely home we were welcomed into. The room we were assigned was very spacious with a large ensuite bathroom. Everything was clean, in neat order and tastefully decorated. It overlooked a well landscaped back yard with splashes of color from primroses and promises of daffodils. Our Hostess, Mary was warm and welcoming allowing us to finish watching rugby in her large living room upon our arrival. She was helpful with providing us with local information about the town and surrounding area. The next morning's breakfast was replete with fresh fruit, a variety of hot and cold cereals, full Irish breakfast and plenty of hot tea and juice. We could not have asked for a more pleasant place to spend the night.I highly recommend visiting this lovely B&B if you are looking for a homey and welcoming place to spend the night.…
