I have stayed in the Peace Village hostel a few times this year. It's a great place. Clean, tidy. efficient, with good food and excellent staff. It's a great location for a base when touring the battlefields and Messines/Mesen is much less busy than Ypres/Ieper. Simon who runs the place is incredibly helpful and is a highly knowledgable battlefield guide.

Located in the small town of Messines which was the site of heavy fighting in the First World War, the Peace Village is a great place to stay if you`re not too worried about staying in a facility which is essentially a youth hostel. Basic but clean facilities, the PV is a perfect place to use as a base whilst... More

I have used the PV on many occasions for school groups and always leave with a very positive impression of the hostel. Clean, friendly and accommodating. The rooms are large and spacious, clean and modern all with en-suites. It's not a hotel but probably as close to one as you can get with a hostel. Bring a towel and toiletries,... More

For its price, the accommodation at Peace Village is phenomenal. Roomy both in the rooms and around the grounds; good food; free wifi; pleasant and friendly staff; good security. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when in this part of Belgium!

Was part of a group of 44 people travelling for a Royal British Legion tour of the Historical WW1 areas. Our group covered all ages with the youngest being 2 & the oldest 76. 44 of us have recently returned from Ypres. We stayed 3 nights in the Peace Village. The accommodation was as we expected, basic but we were only there in the evenings (so we didn't want nor expect 5*). We had 2 evening meals, both of which were filling and enjoyable. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice and eat... More

We took 50 Y8 students on a trip to the Battlefields around the Ypres Salient and stayed here on our second night. Having spent the first and final nights in a ferry, we were all very grateful to have a base with more freedom and more space and this is exactly what the Peace Village offers to school groups without...
