Not an old hotel but it hasn't moved on enough. Convenient for much of the University but not too much in the immediate location regarding restaurants and bars. The restaurant and bar has no ambience and the food is passable. Rooms are also passable but certainly nothing special. Quiet guests are fine, but sound deadening is useless so noisy guests...

Hotel has nice grounds with pretty garden, interior of lobby is interesting. Rooms are of standard size, furniture is not new. Bathroom was very small. For some reason we received one set of towels for double bedroom. We asked receptionist to make for us reservation in hotel restaurant , he agreed and it turned up that it was closed that...

Only fifteen minutes from the "Grote Mark" , this is the ideal place for visiting the center of the oldest University of Europe. The place is amazingly quiet and the reception is highly professional. Rooms are large and well equipped, even a coffee machine is at your disposal with cups.

Stayed one night, hotel is very clean and well appointed. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Prices reasonable. Decent wifi speeds. Did not try dinner or bar but has both and onsite parking. Breakfast was good quality, but only scrambled eggs, very salty bacon available for hot food. Good selection of continental choices. Good coffee also. Building is very...

The hotel is beautifully located near the Begijnhof, one of the main attractions of Leuven. The rooms are clean and we were allowed to check in early, thanks to the kindness and flexibility of the receptionist. I find it a bit unnecessary though to pay € 20 for the sauna. Parking on site costs € 12 and again I'm not...

This hotel doesn't deserve any 4 stars at all. The furniture and equipment are from the 70s or maybe 80s. From the time where people used to smoke a lot. That's why everything stinks and smells smoky. The hotel restaurant is too expensive and doesn't have much to offer. Please refurbish your hotel

Very friendly reception - always available for you. The river is visible from hotel. A nice old church is next to the hotel that has and big and tidy room. You can reach all things in the city without a car.

I stay here because I can walk into Leuven very easily. I can also get here by car without having to navigate the bicycle filled streets of the central city. The rooms are clean and adequate. Reception staff are helpful and efficient. Breakfast is well done with lots of fresh items (pastries, breads, cheeses). Overall, a very adequate place when...

This hotel was booked for a work trip and was not the usual one that we stay at however this was a nice hotel. This hotel is on the other side Leuven to the main train station and although it is walkable it is a bit of a hike with bags. I know this as when I arrived there was...

Spent 3 days here on a bussiness trip. Hotel is well placed. Near exit of city and about 10 mins walk from old centre. Hotel staff were ok. Room clean. Interior ok but bit outdated. Shower clean and good flow of water. Bar closes earLy. Breakfast standard but ok. Not a special hotel but ok for this price.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Finding that unique location is challenging, but in the Begijnhof Hotel you enjoy the best of both worlds. Situated at the edge of the city of Leuven you are in the city centre as easily as in nature. In addition it's nice to know that we are situated in a recognised quiet area in the middle of UNESCO world heritage. Easy to say that the Begijnhof Hotel is all but average. The atmosphere exudes tradition, but with a modern feel. The hotel is very well situated and offers a car park with CCTV, but also a quiet green environment, with a view of the 13th Century Spanish Quarter. Be surprised by the unique location of the Begijnhof Hotel. A 15-minute drive from Brussels Airport and at the edge of the city centre of Leuven, the hotel is situated in the quietest and most picturesque part of town. It is one of the few little known urban quiet areas for a reason. ... more   less
