I stayed at this hotel for a conference at the end of March.
It is a lovely converted hotel in the city's historic centre. The facade of this hotel is nothing special, however the part over-looking the canal is very picturesque and traditional.
I stayed here for the first time. In preparation to the meeting the hotel was visited before and we got a tour & tastings. Choosing this hotel was well received by our group. Service friendly, catering good, housekeeping closeby (in case you drop food or...More
Great location. As expected of Marriott, the room was clean. The quad room was spacious enough.
Garage parking was 30 euros. A bit expensive but you leave your car there and walk everywhere. The price you pay to be right in the city.
The Marriott offers you the hotel experience all others are compared against. Great staff and luxurious room. Delicious breakfast and breathtaking location. The only minus was on our first night when noise from the lobby entered the room until 5 am... If this hadn't been...More
I stayed here many times before with great satisfaction. Though, they changed their internet provider and the Wifi is probably the worst I ever experienced : slow, not reliable and a bunch of different option which are all limited to 250Mbyte or less, economy, business,...More

Yes, taxi's are on the left side as you exit the train station. Don't know about Uber. However, the day we arrived at the station, the taxi's were few and far between. After waiting with many others for 20 min, we decided to walk to the hotel.....about 1.7 miles away. Not necessarily an easy walk, but who knows how long we'd have been waiting on a taxi!

There is no concierge lounge on a separate floor in the hotel. There is a lounge area on first floor which has bar, food available at certain hours, and relaxed area for everyone to read papers, talk, eat. But the idea of a concierge lounge on a particular floor for only certain guests is not something I saw in the Ghent Marriott.
