I was there at the beginning la december with my boyfriend. The impression was bad from the reception, untrained personnel, disaster at breakfast, expensive and poor, colossal mess everywhere, very small rooms, no towels although it was written that 5 towels are available. Totally unjustified price/quality ratio.

We didn't have high expectations because close to every single review described Campanile Gent/Gand as not so enjoyable. We arrived early, around 10am, and were friendly welcomed by the staff who immediately offered us a map of the city. The hotel is located at a 10min walk from the hospital, where you can find public transport to the inner city....

Only to be used on a transit trip through Ghent since it is near the highway but far away from the city center. Surroundings are pretty dreadfull (some kind of electricity station nearby ?) and the place has seen better days. Maintenance seems not that important, so it looks a bit run down. Staff OK and so is the restaurant...

Last time that we have been in campanile hotel in Gent we left the hotel with a bad taste because of the stuff attitude. This time the new stuff really changed our experience. We really want to mention the amazing people that made us feel more welcome then in our own home. Special thanks to Mohamed, Jorge and Mieke for...

Close to the motorway but in a quiet backwater this is an ideal stop before travelling further into Europe. A typical Campanile it is a no frills hotel that gives all the basics and is clean, quiet and comfortable. All that is needed for a rest stop. The buildings are showing there age and need refurbishing. A coat of paint...

Not fancy or stylish or pretty but very useful for those motoring to or from the channel ports and Germany/Belgium who need to quickly break their journey. Good value, clean room, close to main E40 road.

Good point was tea and coffee making facility. Receptionist was helpful. Glad to only be staying one night though. Towels off colour and smelled awful. Poor location. Both of the rooms we had came with a large fly which was difficult to catch and the one in my room dive bombed me during the night. Would definitely not stay there...

I found no evidence of mosquitos in this hotel and we stayed twice within a space of three weeks. Once on the way out to our tour of Holland and Germany and three weeks later on our return. On our second visit, most of the rooms were taken up by the Belgian Cycling Teams! These were complete with their trainers,...

Mosquitoes are murderous in the hotel rooms - millions of them! Even in December. Moved rooms and seemed to help....Otherwise the hotel was clean and staff were ok - breakfast good too. I would stay again but come prepared. Ghent itself was wonderful, all lit up, and locals friendly and helpful.

I was a little bit afraid that the hotel will be far from the city center, but actually it's around 10-15 minutes by bus, so it didn't make a problem. The room was clean and comfortable, though i didn't exect that it will be that type of accomodation when you enter the room from the street. One night there was...
