Needs a spruce up, lots of potential. Expensive drinks in the bar playing euro trash music? Didn't fit the building. Rooms are tired but large. Big beds. Wouldn't stay again. Location good. Central but not the nice area. Stay in the ibis or Novotel for a better location and alue for money.

This is truly a 5-star Hotel in downtown Brussels. The location is central to a LOT of activities and restaurants. The Hotel is very nice and amenities are very nice; but, rather expensive fare though. There were a lot of famous people that have stayed there. The very nice, popular restaurant was not available due to construction; bummer! The Suite... More

The hotel has an amazing architecture and decoration. If you appreciate this kind of thing (I am sorry for you if you dont appreciate Art Nouveau and if you are visiting Brussels), you will enjoy it a lot. The staff were friendly and polite, a rare skill in Brussels. The hotel is clean enough considering the old decoration. It is... More

We recently stayed in this hotel, at the start of August 2013, and found it to be excellent from the moment we arrived. First of all, it has a great location...right next to the main 'high street' shopping streets and just across from the Metro station - handy if you want to get to the Central Station quickly with heavy... I've lived in Brussels for 13 years and when we returned there, I knew that this would be the hotel that I wanted to stay in. I had occasionally had my Sunday afternoon coffee at the always-open street terrace cafe and knew that it would not fail me this time either.

After the renewal, the hotel served us perfectly in July, 2013. I recommend to make an upgrade for a Privilege room, large, comfortable and usually away from any problem with the noise. The Hotel entrance is, for sure, one of the most beautiful in the Brussels De Brouckére region, recalling the beginning of the Twentieth Century and well maintaned. The... More

We were on a self guided tour of Brussels and one of the points of interest was the Hotel Metropole's Cafe. Unfortunately the Cafe is closed for renovations currently. I asked the helpful doorman could we have a coffee somewhere within the hotel and he pointed us to the bar. I had my normal decaffeinated cappuccino and husband a beer.... More

Decent hotel with adequate facilities. Grand entrance/lobby area and relatively pricey if you’re on a budget. The hotel has a faded elegance about it, but is excellently located, being 50 metres from the De Bruckere Metro stop, which is in itself only 4 stops from Bruxelles Midi (central station). Grand Place is only 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel and... More

My wife and I visited the Metropole as part of a group visiting sites around Waterloo to do with the forthcoming 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. The hotel accommodated our group very well including a private room for a screening of the Bondarchuk/de Laurentis film of the battle and provided an excellent base for a weekend of exploration.... Large rooms, expensive but worth it especially to break up an otherwise budget trip. Very beautiful and older hotel, rooms are large. lifts were awkward to use, so we used the beautiful staircase! Staff were great so friendly, and the hotel was within walking distance of everything. We got a cab from the station and it wasn't too expensive at... More
