The Ibis Brussels Off Grand Place garners a variety of opinions from its visitors. While the hotel's prime location near key sights and transport is widely praised, some guests find the rooms smaller than anticipated and not as well-equipped as hoped. Opinions on service vary, with commendations for friendly staff contrasting with reports of slow check-ins and communication hurdles. The modern yet quaint atmosphere is a highlight for some, although noise levels and discrepancies with online images have been noted. Cleanliness receives consistent positive remarks, but views on value are split, balancing the central convenience against the modest offerings.

First of all location is great! Just next to basically everything!

Hotel itself looked really fresh and nice. It was clean!

We had triple room with one single bed and one double bed and it was really spacious! Basically it was almost like two rooms. Bathroom was bit tight but manageable!

Breakfast offers wide variety of foods and plus points from the waffles!

Few negatives: Air con was really loud in our room but it worked (+30 outside so really necessary), the cleaning did not change the right amount of towels. Also door banging sounds can be heard from the corridor quite easily but these are quite minor issues.

All in all I will definitely choose this hotel for my future visits in Brussels! Merci!

This was our 1st trip to Belgium and we made Brussels our base of operations for the 6 days we were there. I chose this hotel due to the location to the train station as well as it being situated near Grand Place.

After reading reviews here on Trip Advisor we knew that our room would be small and that helped to manage our expectations. That said, the staff were all very kind and very helpful. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a great view of the *noisy* square and of Grand Place. We really didn't mind the noise and if the window was closed, you hardly heard anything from the outside. The walls are a bit thin so you may hear your neighbors more! So folks travelling with young kids beware. If you can hear your crying baby, so can everyone else within 2 doors of you!

We tried the buffet breakfast once and it was fine. For 15Euros You can pick from hot eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage. As well as various pastries, cereals, breads, sliced meats and cheeses, and make your own soft or hard boiled eggs. This gave us a break from our croissant and coffee routine.

If you're looking for a hotel with a great location without spending an arm and a leg then this is your place.

This hotel is situated just a short 3-5 min walk from the main train station in brussels and a minut away from the Grand Place. The staff were very helpful with excellent English , the bar is clean and tidy although not too busy.
There is a continental breakfast but if you want to get breakfast outside in the plaza that the hotel is situated then there are many options (note most shops/cafes dont open until 10 so if you need an earlier breakfast the hotel is the one to go for )
I was on a street side room but the triple glazing made for a good sleep. theres AC in the rooms so heat isnt an issue.
Even though Covid is still with us, rooms are serviced each day ( unlike others ive stayed in ) and hand sanitisers are at every entrance/touch point /lift entrance and exit.
All in all extremely good value and i couldnt find any fault .
The rooms are compact with not much storage space but all you need on a short trip.
I personally like firmer pillows but others in my group didnt have that as an issue

Dear Chris, Thank you for commenting on your stay. We are glad that you had a pleasant stay but regret that you were a little disappointed with the size of your room; we do have different categories and sizes, and we would be very happy to find you one better suited to your requirements for your next visit. However, thanks for mentioning the cleanliness of your room's amenities. We are pleased to hear that our location was convenient for you. With public transport so nearby, it is easy to access our hotel and explore all of the beautiful attractions around Brussels . We appreciate your kind words about our team members. This positive feedback inspires us to continue upholding our high standards of service. We do hope that you will return for an improved experience in the future. We'd never stayed at an Ibis before but we definitely will again. We had a fantastic room looking over the square, comfy beds and practically soundproof despite the festival that was going on over the weekend. Perfect location, within walking distance of everything but also right by the central station. The breakfast was brilliant - lovely bread (sometimes still warm), hot and continental options and fresh squeezed juices. We tried the bar a couple of times, it is quiet and rustic as described, with good attentive service. Can't understand the last few reviews, it's great!

Just steps from the central train station and the Grand Place makes this hotel extremely convenient, but it comes at a high price, literally and figuratively. The rooms are small, there is no charm, no amenities and not even a paper cup in the room. The noise from outside competes with the noise of the adjacent rooms locks opening and doors closing and makes it impossible to get a good night sleep.

We stayed at the ibis Brussels Off Grand Place in June 2019. We arrived at this hotel well past the check in time and had to wait approximately 30 minutes to check-in because the rooms weren't ready. They have a very informal and kind of unorganized method of checking in, standing with tablets in the middle of the lobby.
We were given keys to all 3 of our rooms, when we open the door to one of the rooms, to our surprise there were bags and belongings to other guests. Thankfully those guests weren't in the room. We immediately closed the door and ran down to the lobby, where we weren't offered an apology or anything, and now had to wait another 30 minutes to find another available room.
This event was extremely disappointing and set the tone for our stay.
I will say the rooms were very clean and comfortable, though extremely basic, but it sufficed for our short stay. The bar attached to the lobby was decent, but better places nearby.
We did not use their breakfast as there were many great places nearby on Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert. The location of this hotel is great! Near the Grand Place, Royal Gallery and so many amazing places to eat and bars!

If you are more than one person, don't stay here because the rooms are the size of a shoe box. Once you put down your luggage, it is hard to get around each other. If you would like to be able to sleep at night, don't stay here because the music, singing and partying outside your window in the street stops around 4:00 am. If you need a minimum of 2 towels, and maybe even a face cloth, don't stay here because you get only one towel and no face cloth. If you like to have a glass around to drink water, don't stay here because you get only 1 paper cup, and they don't last long. You may have a side table next to your bed if you are lucky, but not much will fit or stay on it because it's most likely a stool since you also don't get a chair. Bring shampoo, conditioner because you won't find any. If the toilet flush happens to brake (which is what happened to us) don't count on maintenance to fix it. (They don't have any. At least not in the evening or on the weekend). They may give you another room, but it will be even smaller (happened to us). What you do get is to pay a big sum of money, but breakfast is extra and no parking. If you do expect friendly, helpful service.... that was also not our experience. (Except for the chocolate and cookies, the front desk gave us when we asked for a plumber and maybe an extra pillow, which we didn't get.) We were only here on Rick Steve's travel guide recommendation, but I doubt Rick ever saw the inside of this big hotel chain.

I stayed here for 5 nights while visiting Belgium. I of course explored Brussels itself, but also took day trips to Antwerp, Brugge, and Luxembourg. This location is ideal for day trips as you are literally a 2-3 minute walk from the Central Station. Any train you would need (including to the airport) leaves from here. It keeps things low stress when you know how close to transportation you are.

Secondly, it is also equally close to Grand Place. You walk out the door, go through the pretty square outside then make the first left and there you are. I went every night just to see the buildings lit up. It's also nice during the day too. Galleries St. Hubert is also close and an interesting stop.

The hotel itself was wonderful! The highlight for me was the breakfast: eggs, sausage, bacon, cold meats, cheese, croissants, juice, milk, coffee, fruits. So filling, I was really impressed! This was the 4th Ibis hotel I have stayed in and this was the best breakfast yet (they've all been good).

My room was big enough as it was just me. The bathroom was also nice with a hot shower and good water pressure. The bed was comfortable. The one downside to this hotel is its noise. Luckily I had pretty quiet neighbors, but you would definitely hear them when they were in their room. Some soundproofing is needed between rooms. Other than that, it was a WONDERFUL 5 days at the Ibis!

The hotel is situated within walking distance of anything and everything you may desire on your trip to Brussels. It took us barely 5mins on foot from Brussels Central Station. Since we arrived early we were told to wait for check-in and our luggage was stored at the reception. Staff at the hotel was very polite and welcoming at all times.
Room was decent sized and clean as expected with Ibis standards. Although if they had provided a kettle in the room it would have been better for us.
Breakfast was really good with good variety of fruits, breads, croissants , coffee and juices. They even had a machine for making waffles yourselves which was good (considering you're in Belgium).
In conclusion if you're a tourist looking to explore all the tourist spots and great restaurants while living in a central location in a budget, you should book this place without giving a second thought.

We stayed at this location for 3 nights in August 2022 with a view to sightseeing. Amazing central location near train station and 2 stops away from the airport. Check in and out very smooth. Rooms are somewhat small but we found them perfectly adequate with decent air conditioning. Our particular room had a view of the platz which was breathtaking. When windows were closed, the room was silent, which was great. Decor in the hotel is upbeat and fresh. Breakfast was wide-ranging with something for everyone, from fresh juice and fruit, cheese and vegetables, hot dishes as well as baked goods. I would recommend this hotel as central and keeping budget in mind.
