We had to choose this hotel since they have accepted to safely park our bikes but I wouldn't reccomended it at all. We were "awarded" a suite (it was the only room available for 3 people) but it had nothing to share with such a title... they put a Jacuzzi in the bathroom (!) but the room was orrible, dirty...

to be honest, the Hotel is nice, the balcony rooms are quite big and the staff is friendly. But for the asked price you would expect a little bit more. No ac in the room, tiny shover cabin and very very soft bed. Also I had the feeling that the entire room was sort of "hanging" towards the left. Breakfast...

This hotel is pleasantly located on a canal opposite the train station. Although we had a room facing the road and station we had a decent nights sleep. The room was rather dated with awful yellow walls and a brick fireplace. The verandah was a pleasant surprise though. Staff were very helpful and allowed us to store our bicycles under...

Stayed for a single night and were upgraded from our booked rooms, great start! Both couples had a balcony one(216) with both a sitting room and view of the canal while the other(214) had a view of the garden. The hotel was quite quiet(Sunday) but our host, the son of the family, was enthusiastic, very friendly and efficient. We thoroughly...

Staying at De Nieuwe Doelen was a very pleasant experience. Rooms were very clean and spacious), staff was very friendly and helpful in finding our way around Middelburg. Entertainment and people at the hotel bar were just great and we had a wonderful night. A rich breakfast buffet and a discount card for public parking completed the very positive experience....

I came to Middelburg for a conference in December. The reception could not have been friendlier. My room was spacious, with a balcony looking out at the canal / train station across the street. It was December, so it was decorated with lovely white lights. The service was great -- breakfast was lovely, with lots of variety and delicious coffee....

I stayed here for four (4) nights. The lobby is very nice and I found both of the ladies very friendly and helpfull. The rooms are very tired and are long overdue for some renovations. A simple coat of paint would work wonders. The room was clean and had free wifi. I would probably not stay at this hotel if...

I came to Middelburg for work. A group of us stayed at this old traditional hotel. It's an old building so the hallways and the rooms are quite old fashioned. The service is excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. While the other colleagues of mine got quite decent rooms, mine on the other hand was a really small single...

We think the hotel is pretty nice. Very close to train station and downtown. The room is spacious. Nice breakfast and friendly staff. Note: the glass door of thr shower means no privacy. Not able to boil water in the room

Opposite side of train/bus station across the canal, 15 mins walk from town center and market. Have a room facing canal on 3rd floor, spacious clean. Good breakfast to fill up the belly before starting the day. Nice and helpful owner providing directions. You will want to check-in on Wednesday evening so to enjoy Thursday morning's market. Definitely recommend.

Thank Bernard W
