I stayed here for 4 nights and all was well. The only complaint that I had was my wifi did not work for some odd reason. My room was on the 5th floor and it would not work on my two different iPhones nor on my laptop. The staff was not sure why it would not work, but the wifi worked everywhere else on every other floor below the 5th floor (I tested it). Thankfully, I did not require the wifi much as I have a local data package, but if I was an international traveler, then this would have been a big issue. Again, this was never a big issue for me, so I never demanded the staff solve the problem, though I did notify them of the problem. Other than this, everything was great! The staff was very helpful and there was one girl who works downstairs in the mornings who was especially wonderful. She helped me with my bags and I did not expect her to do this. She was very nice and I wish I knew her name to personally thank her. The point being, the staff was all great. Location was good, everything else was good. I would stay here again, but I would personally request a lower floor room due to the wifi issue I had on the 5th floor.

No tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. Do not advertise that you can request a kettle when the answer will be no.
If there is an electrical problem, fix it. In the long term, it is an investment in your hotel.
No table in the room. There is plenty of space to put it.
Cheap plastic cups instead of glassware.
Very cheap soap and ? Bodywash shampoo?
It's those little things that make a better experience and reputation for the hotel.

This is a nice hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was basic but clean and nicely decorated. We just had one problem....ants!!
They were on the desk and bed locker but not in the bed. I made sure of that each night!
The ants did not bother me too much. If they were in the bed then I would have caused a fuss. Others may be less tolerant.

Very bad experience, not worth the price in conjunction with the quality of the stay. Very friendly staff, however this does not compensate for the overall lackluster cleanliness of the room as well as the fact the food on the menu is far too expensive. Nearby area is definitely not recommended unless you’re by car.

The overall service was amazing.

The lack of crib when we arrived was a little let down but staff went above and beyond.

We had 2 cribs at 9 am in the morning, best service from the staff. Friendly staff and great hotel

the room was clean and the sheets too, but the hall rooms on the way to our apartment were a bit wasted. the bathroom was like 1 sq meter, so I was not so happy about that. the sink was so small you couldn't even wash your face without washing your feet too. and the door is all glass, so yeah, it's transparent :).
the cleaning ladies left my piyjamas thrown away on the desk and chairs, it's the first time I experienced that in a +100 euro/ night hotel :).
the hotel is well connected to Amsterdam Central station and Zaandam train station by bus and their schedule is pretty good (till 00 in the night). they are locking the front door at night so you have to ring a bell.
overall a not so good experience, I think you could search for better for this money.

At first we where delighted to find a 3 star hotel at such short notice only to soon find out why no one was staying there.constant disturbance by housekeeping would be somewhat acceptable if they would do their job completely. The most upsetting part is the Theft of 150 € from my room right after housekeeping was in there.did they do it or did they forget to close the door properly thus granting acces to whoever..i don't know, but everything else(laptop, clothing, passport) was still there..exept the money i had forgot in my pocket. With the money (wich may not be much for some) gone..so was the rest of my vacation. The staff,as if prerecorded, tells you to call the police, who can't do anything in such short time.thank you Bastion for ruining my first trip in 8 years!!!!!
PS : @Bastion spare me the standart review response text you just copy+paste everywhere.you have this problem in more hotels belonging to your group..get your stuff together!!!!

Typically when I visit hotels I come with a positive attitude. Especially being young-ish (mid 20's), I don't necessarily care if certain aspects of the hotel don't meet expectations. However, there comes a certain point where push comes to shove, and others need to know about what to expect when coming to this hotel.

First off, the staff was okay. They were not rude, nor were they nice. Upon entrance the front desk was all business. That is fine considering they have a job to do and probably do not wish to spend their time chatting away with tourists. Not a big deal.

The size of the rooms were modest. Enough space to put your bags and sleep.

The showers were decent. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to write home about either.

The location of this hotel can be a plus or minus depending on the reasons of why you are visiting Amsterdam. If you are here to sightsee and experience the nightlife, I suggest that you skip over this hotel and get one a lot closer to central station. There is a bus stop that can take you to central station right outside the hotel for 4 euro. However, the bus line stops running at midnight so you will have to take a taxi (~30 Euro. More if the taxi driver is trying to take advantage of you) to get back to the hotel every night. If you are looking only to sightsee during the day, then this location can be considered since it'll only cost you 8 euro round trip with the bus line. As I was there for the nightlife, this extra cost adds up quickly.

Last but not least and the cause of which made me write this review, the bed bugs. Upon staying the first night, the next morning my friend and I found that we had bite marks on our bodies. We shrugged and ignored the fact went on with our lives. After the second night, the bite marks increased 10 fold and we realized that the cause was bed bugs.

Overall, an okay hotel if you plan to only sightsee during the day and search the room for bedbugs before sleeping. Otherwise, I would keep searching for other hotels with better quality and a better location

I stayed for business trip. Food, room and free parking were good. However, staffs in the reception was not kind for a foreigner. They smiled a cynical smile. Also, Wifi was terrible, completely weak signal, slow and automatically disconnected while Wifi was in use.

It's situated a bit far from Amsterdam centre. Bus costs 7 EUR for a day for an adult. Every 15 minutes comes a bus daily. It's in a half industrial an commercial part of the city. It's hardly reach any food store on foot nearby. It's easy to park in the hotel parking place. Clean rooms and baths. Our only problem was at the last departure day. The receptionists insisted that we ate one day breakfast but we didn't. She was rude to us. She spoke to us as we are burglers. Finally we didn't pay for breakfast. All the other receptionist was helpful and kind to us. The breakfast costs 14 EUR for a person which is very expensive for us. That's why we chose not to eat in the restaurant. I'm sure that something is wrong with the registering of the bills.

is there towels available in the room
Answer from Skogsgurra
Granbergsdal118 contributions79 helpful votes
Yes, definitely. Large ones and smaller ones. To tell the truth - I have never stayed in a hotel where there were no towels in the room/bath-room. But there are no bath-robes. You need to choose a somewhat more expensive hotel for that.
Answer from Skogsgurra
Granbergsdal118 contributions79 helpful votes
Hi Laura, sorry that I have no idea about that. I was going by car and never tried any other means of transportation. If I were you, I would buy the 13 € ticket on those days when I need to travel far and walk other days. Sometimes, a regular ticket is just as good as the tourist tickets. It depends on what you are planning to do in the area.

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your mail! The best option is to take a bus from Amsterdam Central. The latest one is leaving around 00.15H. It will take you about 30 minutes. Kind regards, Team E-Commerce
