Hotel met expectations except for sleep. Very important while on vacation. Stayed three nights and didn't realize when the receptionist 'upgraded' us to a waterview room that it was located above the hotel loading dock. First experience: Laundry truck unloading at 6:45 am. Very loud. A ruckus. When we asked the receptionist if this would happen again she assured that...

An old-style hotel really located on the water's edge was the perfect location to visit Marken (and island) which you can access either by car or by boat (from Volendam). The room was quite spacious and the beds comfortable. There is a really nice foyer downstairs where you can relax in comfortable sofas while drinking, talking or reading. I especially...

I booked this hotel last minute as we wanted to go back to Holland for our honeymoon, after having been there a year before. We knew the area fairly well as we stayed further down the coast of the lake before. The first negative thing, which niggled me a bit, was when I initially emailed the hotel before our stay...

We arrived to the hotel, the room was nothing like I saw when I booked it, nothing like it was advertised. It needed a good redecoration. There was chewing gum stuck to the wall. We stayed in room113 at the back first floor of the hotel. The hotel is an old beautiful building, I appreciate there are noises of clanking...

made a booking, provided credit card detail, payment to be made after stay. full amount of stay deducted up front. when queries this with bookings.com they immediately apologised and said the hotel would refund the amount immediately. Took two weeks to get a refund but then deducted another amount. struggling to get that refunded

the family room we actually stayed is far far from what we saw on the website when we confirmed the booking, not even close. It's poor decorated (no decorations at all) with only views of dark alley. If this is one of the room type, it's hotel's responsibility to let us know what we had booked in advance, instead of...

Last weekend I visited Hotel Spaander with my husband. The location is perfect, the view of the lake incredible, and the hotel cute in its quirkiness. When we got there we were surprised in a good way. But ordering drinks at the bar (no they didn't come to the table) that feeling turned around. I've heard about Dutch straightness before...

located on the main street of volendam, with lots of cafes and shops around it, very nice. hotel is very beautiful, room is clean and comfy. staff is nice too. breakfast is a bit expensive, but worth it because the cafes around the hotel opens at 9 or 10 so if you need early breakfast, better get from the hotel...

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights on a shearings holiday this week. The hotel is on the main street in the middle of Volendam but the dining rooms and lots of the bedrooms overlook the water at the rear. We had a room with a balcony on the third floor with a view across the water to Marken....
