I had the pleasure to stay at Zoku for almost two months , and had an amazing time. Not only is the service and team super friendly , they are also very supportive for any inquiry you may have. The hotel is central , you are right in the middle of amsterdam and also walking distance to any supermarket or the tramstations The breakfast is another topic , I am missing sunday brunch at the roof is marvellous I would like to thank you again Laura and her whole team who have made my stay at Zoku an incredible time! Always a pleasure to be back at the restaurant for the food and have a chat with the team See you soon!
I had the very best long term stay experience in Zoku. The layout and design is extraordinary. You will find funny and interesting details in the loft and common areas. Kitchen is sufficient enough to cook for yourself. Bathroom and bed is in very good condition. The terrace has wonderful view of sunset and also beautiful atmosphere. If you plan to work remotely, the rooftop is the go to place. The food is delicious and you will taste from different cuisine. I plan to visit the rooftop again in the future. The location is perfect so that you can easily reach the central by walk, bus or metro. Also there are some coffee places, shops and markets nearby. The best thing with Zoku is the people, very warm and friendly. They definitely improve your mood and always open for a nice conversation. You can also make new friends in community dinners and other events. One thing to improve could be the cleaning of the kitchen (the cooker and above of it).…
Highlights for our one week trip (stayed in 3 different room types - Loft, Room, And Bunks) - If you're working remote, it's close to perfect. By far the best price/value ratio in all of Amsterdam - incredibly central, reasonable price, all the pros of a serviced apartment (minus space) at reasonable hotel price. We stayed in a capsule hotel the week before close to the same price - the difference was worlds apart. - Can tell the interior spaces have been very well thought through - space used impeccably well. Little details like bathroom doors opening outward, stairs sliding out, mirrors everywhere to make them feel more spacious. And there's a room on each floor with additional utilities (bedding etc.) that you can use self serve. Everything has been thought through and iterated on and it shows. - The VIBE - I haven't stayed anywhere with the kind of culture and dynamic between staff and patrons. The staff are pretty young, and can come off as casual, but each one of them is 1. Genuinely friendly/curious about the guests, 2. Empowered to wear multiple hats/problem solve and 3. Enjoys working there which comes across in their interactions with each other and guests. One anecdote - on the first day I was getting an elevator and one of the team asked me to hold it fo Downsides - Co-working - No phone booths and can be difficult to find private space for calls - Laundry - have to go upstairs to get coins to operate machines.…
The loft is comfortable and has a complete kitchen with enough space for a person. The view of the street is amazing and it's well illuminated. The location is great, your basically in the center of Amsterdam, you can find supermarkets and coffees in the same street. The bathroom is awesome and the bed is really soft. The people are nice and kind, they are always available to help you. Recommended, specially if you need to stay for work!
Unfortunately the room was not ready when promised. We arrived early (circa 9am) and were told to lock our bags and come back at 3pm, by which time they would be ready. When coming back at 415pm, we were asked to wait for approximately an hour, despite the promised check in time and awareness we had arrived. I called management the evening of arrival to mention this, and was assured by a 'sidekick' they would look into it and provide some sort of compensation. I have no doubt, if I was to hours late to leave, I would see a charge. However despite mentioning it on two occasions, was never given an apology or any form of compensation. It may sound silly - but when I pay for a hotel room, I expect access to the room.
I visited Zoku in May 2022. I liked the concept of the hotel, social spaces and coffee on the rooftop terrace is a must. Staff is just amazing and location is excellent. However, I would say there are areas for improvement, especially when it comes to cleaning (the quality is varying every time). Also, charges for washing machine were not made clear when booking.
Excellent stay in a great location. Lots of community events and great breakfast. Good for long term stays, with a proper kitchen and living space combined. Staff makes every effort to make you feel welcome. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun place to use as a home base while exploring Amsterdam.
We first went to Zoku Amsterdam in February for a week and we liked it so much that we decided to come back for a month while looking for a place to live in the Netherlands. Where to start! The staff at Zoku is absolutely stellar - during our 4-weeks stay we got to meet many staff members and everyone was just so friendly, helpful and polite. They gave us so many pro tips & recommendations for our new life in Amsterdam! Live music on Friday evening is pure bliss, made even more enjoyable if paired with the meat bitterballen that can be ordered from the bar :) The weekend brunch menu is so rich AND ordering a dish also gives you access to the continental buffet. The beef brisket brioche was a REVELATION. I ordered it almost reluctantly as my partner picked the food I wanted, but it turned out to be the most delicious dish! We spent many evenings on the rooftop playing with either our own games or the various boardgames available in the social area. The rooms are very cleverly designed and the beds are comfortable. Finally, Zoku is very close to the city center and also have metro, tram and bus stops within 5-10 minutes walking distance. Both my partner and I really loved our stay - highly recommend!…
Stayed for a long weekend. Apparently we were lucky as our room faced the back, so was not on the main road. The modern loft was wonderfully designed to maximise space and had every facility you might need. Super comfy bed space, but possibly not appropriate for someone with mobility issues as you had to climb up some skinny steps to get into it. The shared spaces up top were lovely and bright and it was a sunny weekend so we also sat outside. 10 minutes walk into the centre and 5 mins to the Amstel. Also convenient tram and metro if you were going further afield. Highly recommend if you want convenience but to not be in the madness of the city itself. Not on a pretty street but you can't have everything!
I stayed at Zoku for 45 days. Everyday was beautiful living at Zoku! Quality room, trust me the food they cook from their kitchen is healthy. The side kicks are well trained professionally. Zoku is built to accommodate all kinds of race. I made lots of beautiful memories staying at Zoku. It was time to leave, and a tear came out of my eye subconsciously because I was going to miss everything about Zoku.
