A hotel with a large book collection is a novelty. Not much time to read when Amsterdam is just outside the front door. 10 minutes walk from Amsterdam Central Station. Reception staff was service minded and helpful. Free coffee in reception and kettle, tea and coffee in your room. Our room was on the ground floor where a few rooms have airconditioning( simple to operate). Bathroom with shower was excellent. Towels were very good. The breakfast room was not particularly attractive and better views could be found by visiting some of the eating places around the canals. Warning; Be aware of the step into the reception. We enjoyed our stay and will be happy to return on another occasion.
This hotel is in a great location, about ten minutes' walk from the central station. The staff at the front desk were friendly. The room was clean and the bathroom was modern - the rainfall shower head had great pressure. The bed was very comfortable. However, we had trouble sleeping because our room was in the basement and right by the entrance stairs where people would stand and smoke (tobacco or otherwise). The window was single-glazed and didn't close well, and that meant that the smoke smell came inside and people's voices were quite loud.
11-15 minute walk from Centrall train, after flying in from airport and taking train to central Amsterdam. Quirky building, loads of books, paintings on the wall. Comfy beds, good shower, free coffee, helpful staff on reception. .
Three of us had a four night stay. We shared one room, with three single beds. I found the bed quite comfortable. The room was large enough for three, having three bucket seats plus a chair at a desk. The bathroom was good, with a fantastic double shower that both had great pressure. Unfortunately the extractor fan didn’t work, so got hot and steamy in the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn’t eat breakfast there but you could have it. There was a coffee machine in reception which supplied free tea/coffee 24hrs. True to its name, they also have a library area in reception where you can borrow books. There is a sort of mezzanine floor that is a reading area too. There is free Wi-Fi but it does go on and off. The hotel is in a great location, being just a short walk from the train and bus station. The only downside we really had was the noise from upstairs and the odd noisy people in the corridor. I would stay there again though.…
The hotel have a great location, only 10 min walk from the Centeral Station. Free good caffee in the reception. The room was ok. Good bed. The problem was that we got room number 9. The room are located under the stairs that the guests use to go to the breakfastroom. There was a lot of noise when guests went up and down the stairs to go to eat breakfast. Therefore I do not recommend room no. 9. Ask for another room. That will improvisert your stay.
