Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great location, friendly and very helpful staff. Room was small, modern and clean, but a little tired. Got very warm, but windows do open. Fairly quiet considering. Had fridge, safe, hairdryer, amazing shower, but no shower gel, tea and coffee making faculties (only powdered milk) Does have a a complimentary coffee machine in lobby. Walking distance from train station, metro and ferries, plus all the main tourist attractions. Also a few convenience stores and cafes/restaurants.

Very friendly welcome and clean room. We even had a little birthday surprise in the room (chocolate, wine and a picture of the singer, we came to Amsterdam to see). We were very happy. The hotel is well located, we could walk everywhere.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently. We chose this hotel for how close it is to the city centre. Less than 10 minutes walk to Damrak main street and Centraal train station. Lovely entrance way, the library concept is very quirky and gives off a chilled out vibe at reception. The staff were super helpful from the minute we stepped in. They kept our luggage safe until we could check in so we could go out and start our holiday straight away. We returned to check in and our luggage had been taken to our room for us. Our rooms were spacious and very clean. The beds were massive and really comfy. We didn't use the TV much but there was plenty english channels to choose from. Kettle, cups, tea bags, coffee and sugar all available in the room with a mini fridge. There is also a brittish plug socket! My favourite part of the room was the view! Unlike other hotels on this street that we've previously stayed in, the rooms face out onto the street with views across the canal. This was especially nice on a night time. Hint - We booked through booking.com so got to check out at 12 instead of 11am We will definitely book this hotel again!

Location: Good, close to everything. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and the tram and subway are reachable within 10 minutes by foot. All the famous places are just 10-30 minutes walk away. People: friendly and helpful. Room: we got the room upgrade, so it was spacious and lovely. I'm super thankful for their hairdryer in the room, as my hair is thick, and it usually takes forever to blow-dry it. Here, it only took 15 minutes 😃 Breakfast: Good value for the price, and I could choose what I want to eat. But if you're vegan or vegetarian, beware that there aren't many vegan options.

Excellent location, exceptionally clean, comfortable bed and fresh tastefully designed modern, also has a nice staff. Bathroom was surprisingly large. My room was dead quiet. Though I was in the back, plenty of light and nice backyard. A great value.

It was a good stay. Very friendly and helpful staff! The hotel offered us a free upgrade of the room, so we appreciated having a room on the 2nd floor instead of the basement. Very convenient position, in a quiet street, good to easily move toward the center, by walk or public transport. The breakfast was good, even if there was very little choice for vegan sweet breakfast, we compensated it with vegan savoury/continental choices. Not bad level of cleanliness and the rooms in general, a part for one day when we found that the cleaning of the room was clearly interrupted in the middle and not completed. Overall very recommended.

Twin rooms can be 2nd best but this one was just perfect. Comfortable beds placed to maximize floor space and two GIANT windows fill the space with light. Staff were friendly even when very busy! Facilities worked very well. A little difficult to manage the stairs but the wait for the elevator was rarely a problem. Like most boutique hotels in Europe there was a little noise between rooms but I sleep with a white noise app running so nothing to worry about. Close to everything yet quiet part of the street. Highly recommend
