Shower was either freezing cold or scalding hot. Room wasn't very secure for personal belongings. Bedding didn't seem all that fresh Coffee shop downstairs which is convenient for those that smoke. Would recommend for people on a budget stay in the city.

For checking in you have to wait until 6 that they open before that you could leave your luggage on an other hostal . The area is very close to everything and the girl at the coffee shop wasn't really friend. Good for having a bed in town.

I went to Amsterdam for couple of days with two friends and we stay at the Utopia Hostel. If you are familiar with hostels this place should be fine for you, it has the basic stuff, wich includes towels, blankets and clean sheets, the rooms were small but comfortable, the bathroom is share per floor and every floor have at...

As a hostel it's not too bad. The rooms were clean and the showers were clean before other people started using them. However, this was my first hostel experience and I won't be doing another. The stairs were practically impossible to climb. They were steep, had very limited hand rails and they slanted backwards so you really had to pull...

the room isnt amazing. but it was okay as a place to rest our heads. the shower was terrible, not very warm at all. but we made do. the only bad thing about the room is the stairs within the hotel. i would come here again as it was cheap and i liked the convenience of being above a coffee...

It's a cheap hostel and you get what you pay for: a place to spend the night. There are no common rooms or a kitchen. Just really steep stairs and the rooms. Our room smelled a bit rotten (I think it was the ensuite shower. The toilets were shared), but with an open window it was all fine (well, sometimes...

Had to find a last minute hostel around the city centre as attended Dekmantel Festival, booked this hostel costing £600 for 6 nights! £100 a night gave us a bog standard room, (which people kept openly walking in on without knocking) The bathroom was shared, between four bedrooms... Probably totalling up at one shower (which absolutely was the worst shower...

We arrived lat at night and we found out that the coffee shop was the reception. Upstairs you just have a small bathroom for all the rooms (5 dorms) It very not comfortable or welcoming place. I understand this is a youth hostel but 150/ person for three nights is very expensive for what the service is.. I won't recommend...

watch out for which room you get!! if you get no.9, make sure you decline!! this is definitely not fine, theres a mouse in the house! for the amount of money i paid for 3 nights, i did NOT expect to be sharing my private room with a mouse.

This place was absolutely disgusting. For the price I wasn't expecting much but for €400 I expected more. The stairs were a death trap and impossible to climb. The room was old, dirty, smelly and the only plug was nearly impossible to find. When we found it eventually it was near the ceiling so made it impossible to charge phones,...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
