It’s hard to put this experience in words. You have to witness this for yourself to be able to truly understand the magnificence of this landmark icon locally referred to as ‘the Crane’.
I haven’t been able to find a place like this anywhere else in the world and I highly recommend everyone to do yourself a favor and enter the magical world of Faralda. My experience here from start to finish was unique, memorabele and fantastic.

When on vacation we love to find really interesting places to lodge at; the Faralda Crane Hotel is hands-down the most unique place we've ever stayed.

Getting to the hotel:
The instructions provided by the owner lead you directly from the Amsterdam Centraal train station. They guided us flawlessly to the Crane, and the ferry ride was quick and fun.

Finding your room:
Once you arrive at the crane, it's a bit of an adventure to reach your rooms.
First, you need to enter your code in the keypad to unlock the door (hint: look for "password" to the left of the door).

Second, you will take an industrial elevator up to the lounge deck, where you will need to locate a second elevator to ascend to your room. This second elevator is tiny, so depending on your luggage, you may need to make two trips. This second elevator will open directly into your room (we stayed on level 2, the "Secret" room).

Accommodations:
The accommodations are "sexy". Plush pillows, velvet drapes, cuddle nooks, etc.
Amenities range from drinks to massage oil. The shampoo and other supplies smell lovely, and it's worth taking a bath in the copper tub.

The hot tub on the top level has a fantastic view, and was pretty warm, though not hot. It's normally an additional 90 euros, however, it was complimentary for our stay (we are on our honeymoon, so worth mentioning special occasions).

Service:
The owner (Edwin) and his assistant (Olga) are very friendly. They are excited to show you the hotel and if you need help with anything, they are just a WhatsApp message away and will do their best to assist. Edwin even came up to help with the Sonos system when it wasn't working properly.

Notes on value:
It's definitely a unique stay! If you are looking for *luxury*, you may be disappointed. While the stay is very nice, it's not to the same standard as a stereotypical "five-star" hotel. To be fair, this is not a stereotypical hotel! If you love adventure, the experience is well worth a night or two. We have no regrets.

The faralda crane hotel is not just a hotel, it’s an experience all on its own!
A hotel like no other, it has all round views of Amsterdam city and IJ river which change slightly with the movement of the wind. Each morning we woke up to different view.
5star design rooms, a jacuzzi spa on the roof and the cool, free spirited owner Edwin.
On our last day we were invited to a DJ set in the cranes function suite but unfortunately we had to leave to catch our flight but hopefully next time.

Thanks again edwin&the faralda

Enjoying a view over all of Amsterdam and beyond, this remarkable old crane makes for quite a surprising and quite stunning experience. It's not cheap, but we found it 100% worth it. It's hard to put this place into words. It's not a hotel really, but then again it is. I'd recommend to experience this for yourself - it's very unique. I've traveled around but havent seen a place like this ever before. I'd recommend if you're on the hunt for something very special.

I'm a youtuber that visited the hotel to have a great experience (as advertised) and when I was leaving to Madrid (hours after I left the hotel) I got arrested because the Faralda pressed charges of THEFT of an art piece that was part on the decor of the room. I was detained for 6 hours, lost my flight, and then the hotel said the Art piece appeared. It was the worst experience of my life. I feel that the hotel is too weird and shady in the way they operate. Please be careful.

Faralda Crane Hotel Amsterdam features 2 elevators. The elevators can produce sound because of the technical structure and the wind. Guests are instructed with the safety rules and manual of the elevators and the crane in advance and at their arrival. The first elevator from the ground floor (max. 8 persons/800 kg) gives you access to the first platform at 9 meters. The second elevator from the first platform, gives you access to the second platform at 15 meters, the Free Spirit Suite at 35 meters, the Secret Suite at 40 meters, the Mystique Suite at 45 meters and the spa pool at 50 meters. Both elevators give you a unique view from a small window. From the platforms on the crane and from the suites, you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic views over Amsterdam. Faralda Crane Hotel Amsterdam is Europe's most unique hotel experience!

It would be best to ask the hotel management about price. There are Only 3 rooms in the hotel and 1 room is not big enough for parents plus 3 children. It seems to me more suitable for couples than families although older children would love the experience.
