Before I get to the hotel, let me start off with that the hotel is in a great location! It is just a few blocks down from the Rijksmuseum-which has the 'I amsterdam' sign, Van Gogh museum, Vondelpark, Hard Rock Cafe, Heineken Experience, and the Leidseplein area. There is a tram stop next to the Rijksmuseum that will take you... More

While at this hotel I left a sum of money in the roomsafe and locked it. I forgot about it and returned to collect it 2 days after I checked out. It's an electronic safe so only me or the duty manager should have been able to open it. After being passed around from person to person a day later... More

Please make sure you won't get those rooms facing the main street, especially those on the lower floor. Very unfriendly staff in the reception , rude and ask you to wear a ear plug to encounter the noise to sleep. Rooms are small, redicoulus layout - you can't open the bathroom door without moving the bed and you can't bring... More

We walked in from the street and got room for 1 night. The staff were helpful and spoke excellent English. The room was small with a shower only bathroom. Free wifi which worked well in the room. Lots of sights and restaurants close by. We parked on the street close by at 4 euro per hour. Amsterdam is not a... More

Best hotel to visit the city of Amsterdam in a few days. It is located in the very center of the beautiful Amsterdam. One can easily go by foot to loads of museums and parks in a short period of time. I stayed in this hotel in July and an umbrella is a must. The hotel is very well kept,... More

Had a very comfortable stay here and the staff very helpful. Location was also great as not in the centre but right next to tram and the hop on boat. Also a 5 walk to leidersplein which is great for food and sitting out with a drink

The hotel is situated within the city centre and is ideal for the budget traveller who wants to see the various sights and sounds of the City. The rooms are small but comfortable, the food menu not broad but the food is good.

There are plenty of folks who write about the small size of the rooms in this hotel. I have to wonder how many of those reviewers have visited Europe before. Of course, I have no way of knowing such, but I can relate that while smaller than U.S. hotel rooms, the room that I had here was pretty standard for... More

Ordered a room with a queensize bed, got twinbeds.. The pillows are small, hard and very uncomfortable. It's the smallest room I've seen, and the cleaning isn't good. (first of four nights..) No minibar in the room, and there are tiny little ants in the bathroom. The staff is nice and location is good.

The location of this hotel, very close to the Rijksmuseum and the heart of Amsterdam, is great, but the rooms are not so great. At first we were assigned a room with only 5 inches of room between the bed and the bathroom door. The bathroom door could barely be opened and a black stone little step made it impossible... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
