Enjoyed my overall stay in Amsterdam. The cocktails at the bar is a definite must. Being close to the trams made it very easy to move about to visit friend across Netherlands. It was great to be able to walk everywhere. Definitely try the Irish pub across from Vondenpark

Had a nice stay. Staff is really nice. Breakfast is good. Just stayed one night to avoid traffic. Will surely return here. But will ask a room a bit further from reception☺. A lot of nice things are really close

Rooms were extremely small (may be common for area, I don't know). When I first checked in I was given a room that was not cleaned (bed not made, trash cans full, dirty towels still in bathroom). Only to have housekeeping blame each other and reception. Front desk staff moved me to a slightly larger room with a full bed...

You can do better. Didn't expect to find leftover cosmetics from previous occupant or a giant hank of hair in the shower drain. Tried to tell the desk staff, but they were always swamped with people till my friend needed a shower and cleaned it herself. I had earplugs in so should not have been able to hear footsteps etc...

Such a nightmare. Arrived at this hotel with the correct money to have 3 rooms for 3 nights, and our spending money only to be told we need a £150 deposit on each room which was shown NOWHERE on the website, admittedly by the hotel. Staff were nothing but rude and argued back telling us there was no manager for...

Absousltly fuming at my stay here has definitely been the worst hotel I have ever stayed in the rooms are tiny it was dirty. We ordered 3 rooms as we got there we had to pay hidden fees of £50 Euro deposits each. Night which it didn't state on our booking dot com policy or anything which this left us...

We only stayed in this hotel because we were part of a tour group. I would not stay here on my own as there are many other options available. The good points are that the hotel is very well located to many attractions and public transportation. The rooms are very very small, the bathroom is tiny, and the breakfast buffet...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
