The hostel is not in the city centre (as we thought it was) but the train is only a 5/10 minute walk away. This didn't bother us in the day but coming home was an issue, we couldn't stay out as late as we wanted to & it wasn't the nicest walk for 2 girls late at night!. When we... More

Thank you for your review. It is clear that we met (parts of) your expectations, but not exceeded them, which is a shame. If you come to Amsterdam, you might find the Stayokay Vondelpark hostel a good substitute. It is the same formula in a more central location. I would like to apologize for the behaviour of my colleague and... More

The stayokay in Zeeburg is a lovely hostel with big open communal areas, great bar, spacious and clean rooms and a friendly atmosphere. Only slight downside is the location, if you plan on getting trams, buses and trains on your trip you'll be fine, but walking will take about 45mins+ to get to central Amsterdam. Lovely walk if the weather... More

I stay 1 night at dormitory (6beds) few years ago by myself. The hostel was huge and staff was very kind and friendly. There was a park near the hostel and I could easily find the hotel. Recommended.

This hostel is not at the centre of the city (as we thought) but it has a tram station so close which takes you to citycenter in approx. 10 minutes. The room and the hostel were very clean but I didn't like the shower. You have to press the button continuosly to have warm water and it isn't very warm.... More

Stayokay is a big hostel useful for international groups or backpackers who travel alone. It is big and it serves a real good breakfast that will make a difference on your day. They also rent bikes and sell tickets for Amsterdam most famous attractions. Just don't forget to bring towel and shampoo with you: these items are pricey in the... More

Very engaging staff, nice breakfast with a location that is away from the craziness of Amsterdam. A new clean operation in a community that has lots to offer with a quick tram ride to Amsterdam. Good locker storage

Only gripe is that we are prohibited from smoking in the room or at least what no balcony. So when you want to light a cigar need to go outside. So we smoked in the toilet(we been in February and it's cold outside) because there is no alarm, so we do not open the door until the smoke does not... More

Friendly, good attendance, location and facilities where to stay in Amsterdam, with a low budget. Perfect hostel for groups, lonely travellers, friends, and all that people who like to meet others to share a while.

Went there on Feb 2013. Great place to stay for a visit to Amsterdam! Is has a tram stop no more than a 2 minute walk that will get you to the city center in 10 minutes. In case you rent a bike (you should), city center seems just around the corner! Friendly staff and no problems with hygiene. The... More

So in general, I very much prefer the small cozy and centrally located hostels but this was really fantastic. It wasn't in Amsterdam central which was actually a really good thing but it is in a nice area close to some great restaurants and super close (a quick bus or a 20-25 min walk) to the central station (which is...
