Stayed here for three nights with friends, the place is 10 minutes walk from the main Train Station. This apartment is located in the Red Light District but don't let his put you off. This is a very convenient location. The only problem was the steep stairs, we were on the top floor and my friend had a heavy suitcase....

We visited as a group of 6 and this place was just perfect. Right in the red light district everything you need is near by. We had apartment A which is the only one without a balcony but the smokers in our group were able to use a lounge downstairs (for all kinds of smoking!) Which had a big TV...

Right in the heart of the red light district makes this place handy for experiencing the more colourful side of Amsterdam. The access is secure but the stairs very steep indeed. The apartment is spacious but very dark with few windows which open in a limited fashion. As it was warm during our stay we struggled to keep the place...

Central location, next to China Town and close to train station. Got a spacious apartment for a family of 4 at a decent rate. Has fully equipped kitchen, we ended up cooking a few meals in the apartment. Can be a bit noise at night sometimes. Beware of the long narrow stairs to get to the apartment but looks like...

The first thing that we saw in the pictures was a balcony that was not provided, as well as no windows that can open. The second was a great location, witch is true, it is located next to metro, near a market right in Red light district. It is good for friends looking for fun but not anything else. The...

Had to wait 3 hours before anyone came to let us into the apartment. But there's a pub next door to the right, a coffee shop to the left, a kebab shop directly in front and plenty of "other" interests within seconds walking distance! So we certainly weren't left idle while we waited for our keys! :) The apartment itself...

Stayed here for 4 days in April with a group of 6 friends this location is slap bang in the middle of Everything and the apartments were fantastic, lots of space, spotless clean, comfy beds, comfy sofas, friendly staff. I will be returning here very soon, this is my fourth time in Amsterdam and this is, by far the best...

The apartment was clean and had 4 beds in it (1 Bedroom Apartment "C"). The apartment I stayed at had 1 Bathroom and a Seperate shower room, a...

We spent 4 days in an apartment in this block and we were all thoroughly impressed. The apartment was clean, tidy and very well apportioned. We had loads of space to eat, relax and sleep. The beds were very comfortable; if you want a cuddle you'll need to push two beds together. The staff are all really friendly and the...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
