I booked this hotel few years ago, also for a business trip. This time was just a huge disappointment because not only they gave me a room smaller than a gym locker, but the room was dirty as well. I found long hairs on my bed when I arrived and the pillow case had stains on it and the bed sheets where broken and also stained. The toilet was not properly cleaned and the whole room looked dirty. Besides the fact that I didn't have enough space to open my luggage, I was afraid of touching the walls. The toilet was right in front of the bed. Even one of the ladies from the reception said to me amazed: "aaaa you have tiny room!?". Last time when I visited, I had a more normal room and it was cleaner.
Very disappointed. Firstly they advertise private parking, this is totally untrue. You can park on public street if you can find a space. Nobody anywhere at reception when we arrived and someone waiting in front of us to check in. After 5 minutes a girl came and started to deal with him so he was also waiting, and even longer than us. Very cold welcome (no welcome really just “write your details here”). Room small bit acceptable. Most tv channels don’t work. Shower very dirty like it was not cleaned properly in many weeks (see photos). One glass horrible. It appears like someone used it as an ashtray before and nobody cleaned it properly (see photos). Common areas very poor - old, worn carpets in corridors - even big holes missing in carpet (see photo). Good location and nice building, but poor standard of check in staff and maintenance/cleaning.…
So many interesting places to visit in the neighborhood. Efficient reception, no frills Breakfast is OK, not more Good wifi connection!! Room ok, but not more; a bit too loudy in the corridor when people walk by.
The Leonardo City Center hotel in Amsterdam is highly recommended! Very centrally located, near Leidsche square, De Pijp, Vondelpark, PC Hooftstraat. The whole center within walking distance. My room and bathroom were not large but everything was there and looked well cared for; everything clean and very well maintained. Breakfast was good in homey, little retro style restaurant. Staff were very cordial and attentive. In short: a must for an attractive price!
Just of the Leidseplein and the Vondelpark we had a great affordable hotel in Amsterdan. The rooms were well maintained and were spacious. A good fresh bathroom made our stay perfect. The friendly staff was very helpful. The offered to guard our bags and arranged parking for our bikes..
