The building in itself is a marvel. Apparently it is more than 100 years old and was converted into a hotel around 7 years back. The hotel for sure has an old world charm and is far away from modernity in all aspects. The rooms are quite huge and the junior suite was like two drawing rooms put together. Well...

I will say that the architecture of the hotel is beautiful and with more attention to the decor, this would be a stunning hotel. I cannot complain about the service here. Yes, check in and check out were slow and I felt there could have been more staff helping the queues of about 7 people at any one time, but...

after spending a long day travlleling as part of a business trip, i arrived to the hotel late to discover they had sold my room...and this wasnt a once off mistake as a couple arrived shortly after to me to be told their room was also sold. the hotel had clearly overbooked in the hope that there would be some...

I had checked out this hotel on Trip Advisor before I left. The reviews were dead on! The hotel is a 4 star hotel and the negatives - poor lighting and limited drawer space - were very accurate. Despite this, the hotel is very clean, modern and the bed very comfortable. The location was excellent as it's right near the...

Stayed here three nights in early September. Reception area is very cramped and inefficient. Staff tried hard but the cubbyhole they work in makes it difficult for them and guests particularly if there is more than one or two checking in at the same time. A curious layout to say the least. The main complaint is that there is no...

Stayed here in June for 3 nights. Good by Amsterdam standards. Building is a bit old and the people are nice. I like it because it's a 3 minute walk to the train station. It happens to be right next to the red light district (less than 2 blocks away). I was not a fan of the restaurant, but I...

I travel to Amsterdam frequently for work and leisure and this has now become my preferred hotel. Its architecture is amazing, the staff are extremely friendly and polite. The room service menu is quite small but the hotel restaurant offered us room service options as well. Stunning views, amazingly comfortable beds and great amenities. The spa and wellness centre is...

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. It's a gorgeous building and in a good location. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we got it for a very good price. Loved the spa/sauna and Turkish steam bath area. Very clean and well maintained. I was only told about the massage special when we checked out which was...

We had planned this trip to Amsterdam rather last minute and to be honest, booked this hotel because it offered the best price for a 5* hotel only 3 days prior to traveling. The reviews we read were somewhat mixed, but this hotel turned out to be a gem that I would return to without hesitation! We arrived at the...

Just back from a 3 night stay. Lovely rooms although we have to be moved as we had booked a twin room and were given a double. Both rooms were spacious and quiet. Free mini bar and the Nespresso machine were a bonus. We had the French breakfast in the bar which was huge and kept us going all day!....

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
