This is my 3rd time in Amsterdam, the hotel was fantastic for what we needed, just a place to stay with a breakfast. Room had everything we needed, a very comfortable bed, and a great view of vondel park! Everything was very clean, and the breakfast set us up for the day. Staff were all very kind, great location although...

The location is very good, in a quite area, but is only a few steps from the main museums and is 25 minute walk to the Damsquare. It is right near a good shopping street but the brands there are rather expensive, better walk a little bit further to Kalvestrat. The breakfast is also very good.

Firstly the location of the hotel is great and relatively cheap parking is available close to the city stadium. We stayed for 2 nights and I really would not recommend to anyone to stay longer that (Ideally don't stay at all)! Our room was tiny and dirty with bits of broken wood and rubbish from a previous guest underneath the...

This hotel is in a great location for visiting museums and attractions, and is also very close to a huge variety of designer shops. Tram stops to other locations were quite close too. The hotel room itself was clean and reasonably comfortable, with an adequate sized bathroom. The room was slightly on the small side, but if you are out...

The hotel is situated within easy walking distance of the major museums and tram stops for going further afield. We had excellent breakfasts in the hotel but had to go elsewhere for lunch and dinner. We had very good meals in the Van Gogh museum and a local Thai restaurant. The area is a bit dead in the evenings, Dam...

The hotel is located next to Vondelpark (some rooms have view of park) and very close to some major museums (Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk) in a neighborhood of mixed residential and (expensive) shopping. Trams very close. Rooms are very small but clean and with the expected amenities (tea kettle, wifi, safe. There is an elevator but some room are a few stairs...

We had no idea what this hotel would be like, but wanted to be an easy walk to museums, especially the Rijksmuseum. As it turned out, we had a very short walk to the museum. The hotel was clean, the extra 10 euros for breakfast was well worth it, and the access to public transportation was terrific. The room price...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
