I booked this through a deal on Voyage Prive and wasn't expecting much due to the low price I booked it for but this hotel was the most pleasant surprise!
NDSM is an area I'd never have visited if I wasn't staying but it was so charming, peaceful, and fun and this up and coming area really impressed me. The location was quite good, only a 10/15 min free ferry which takes you all the way to Centraal Station, much better than the trams which I've taken on previous visits to the city.
The hotel itself was very clean, modern and a really nice stay overall, the customer service was really good and I loved the warm cookie on arrival. The room was small, but most people in Amsterdam are there to sleep so it wasn't an issue for us. The bathroom was super modern, and there was a good selection of toiletries etc, robes were even included!
We also had a really nice view over parts of NDSM and the river, and I really enjoyed my walks around the area; it looks slightly dodgy but has its own charming character. There's some good restaurants (Cannibal Royale) and cafes nearby, even a nice coffeeshop (shout-out Funny People!)
The breakfast was one of the best out of many hotels I've stayed, so much choice and a really good range of extras, even a few Dutch items. The staff in the bar were also very friendly and polite.
I 100% would choose this hotel again, and highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet area close to the centre of Amsterdam.
Please note, you do have to put a deposit down for incidentals, a bit of an issue if you don't have a credit card!

Amsterdam is one of my favourite eclectic Cities of the World, I keep
Returning and returning.
Short hop from the UK to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, very easy to jump on the train and you are in Amsterdam Central Station within 15mins.
Doubletree Hilton is on the NDSM Wharf which is the new up and coming very trendy old industrial part of North Amsterdam. There is a FREE ferry from just outside Central Station direct to NDSM, takes 10mins.
The Doubletree Hilton is literally 2minutes walk from the Ferry.
Modern and tastefully styled hotel, the lobby is well appointed with very pleasant and welcoming staff.
Check-in was done within 1minute thanks to being able to do On-line Check-in prior to arrival as part of Hilton Honors programme (a must to join from free stuff).
A nice touch was a feee welcome warm chocolate cookie to nibble on ...
I was given a free upgrade of my room, stayed in Room 502 double with river view ... enough space for me, very tastefully decorated (although a tad dark in places) .. bathroom perfect with robes and slippers, linens perfect and a beautiful refreshments section.

This Doubletree was surprisingly one of the best I have seen. Fantastic front desk staff (hat tip to Elena), great breakfast and a very convenient location. A free, 10 minute shuttle takes you into the Centraal Station every 30 minutes and this location is much more relaxing than being downtown. The rooms are a touch small but very nice.
TIP: Leave the bathroom door open at night - it does not have a heating duct and it gets cold!

Sadly the few positives of this hotel are greatly outweighed by the negatives. This was the first hotel I booked for a three-week Europe trip and by far the worst. The first three nights of our stay in Amsterdam were at the Hyatt Place Airport - simply wonderful (see my review). From there we caught the train to Central then the free ferry to NDSM Wharf. The ferry trip was very nice.
Despite booking two twin rooms nearly a year in advance for two adults and two kids, the hotel didn't have the common sense to tell us that the rooms would be on different floors! They thankfully changed one of our rooms to a queen room so we could be on the same floor. Their computer system isn't very good either as it didn't recognise my Hilton Honors Gold membership. (I'm now Diamond.) The girl on reception said I could have free breakfast or points but not both. This is not correct.
Housekeeping was terrible. We pushed the queen bed against the wall so my daughter wouldn't roll out. This left a big 1 m2 dusty patch on the floor. No problems with that, but when we came back in the afternoon the dust patch was still there! The housekeeper couldn't even be bothered to vacuum it. I asked the duty manager to come and have a look. He did but just shrugged his shoulders. Coffee and water were not properly replaced either. I was so unhappy with this hotel I rang the Hyatt Place to see if they had spare rooms. Sadly they didn't.
I wanted to go to the nearest supermarket but the duty managers couldn't tell me where the nearest bus stop was. They just don't seem to care.
The only saving grace for this hotel is the breakfast and the staff there. The bread is freshly baked and the chefs and manager went out of their way to cater for our kids' allergies.
The view is nice from the rooms facing the water but there are so many better hotels in Amsterdam. Hyatt Place at the airport is one, and so is the Hilton AMS airport. This NDSM Wharf hotel is not up to DoubleTree or Hilton standards. Look elsewhere.

I stay here once every month, and will gladly continue to do so.
Although this hotel is a little out of the way, it's only a free 15min boatride from Central Station. This hotel, in the industrial, port setting of the NDSM docks, provides an escape from the bustle of Amsterdam.
What makes this hotel great is the sheer experience of professionalism of the staff, that makes you feel welcome as a customer and a guest. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and in a fitting industrial/urban design to match the outside. The breakfast buffet wasn't crowded and coffee was offered and brought to your table by the attending staff.
Although I couldn't be upgraded this time as the hotel was packed, I'm sure there will be a next time where that could be a possibility.
See you soon!

Industrial charme of the past is not for everybody, but i love the surroundings of this hotel and its settings.
Great city/water views from upper levels, especially the corner rooms.
Exceptionally charming and friendly staff in all areas!
Good breakfast with THE best crispy paninis I had at a Hilton, and a faboluos, freshly prepared omelet.
Couple of places around the hotel to eat.
Free downtown ferry running all day until nighttime adds a bonus to this location.
One of my favourite spots in the Hilton universe.
Happy to return soon!

Best described as a commercial/hotel within 10m mins of Amsterdam central by ferry. The ferry is free, on time and very very handy to use. The hotel is ideally situated outside of the main streets of Amsterdam, its clean and staff are very friendly. Surrounded by lot of graffiti, which we liked, a few restaurants nearby, we enjoyed the one next to the Hotel, great food and atmosphere. Would definately stay again

We stayed here for one night before moving onto the Hague. Impressed with the customer service. The member of staff on duty processed our request for an upgrade promptly and at an inexpensive rate. While the room rate was a little high, it was super clean; there was tasty coffee, a nice bathroom, and a great view from the window. There is an ATM in the supermarket 2 mins away by foot, and several bars and cafes close by. Another huge bonus is a free ferry that takes you directly to Central Station, located a stone's through from the hotel. The food in the restaurant was very nice, and the beer was tasty, although a little pricey. All in all, a very positive experience. Thank you

The hotel is located in ndsm in a former wharf area, which is now a cultural spot with some newly residential buildings and offices, very convenient is the ferry which connects you to the main train station just some footsteps away from the hotel. The hotel itself is not too big, there is also a open air parking for 15 euros a day. The breakfast and restaurant serves a very nice breakfast, the kitchen is open until 22. the restaurant until 23. They have also room Service. We stayed in room with nice sea view, however for my taste the room we stayed in was too small, but I also like big rooms so I can place my luggage nicely somewhere. The bathroom was arranged a bit weirdly as there is no difference between the shower floor and the normal floor so everything gets wet there more or less when you take shower. Also the lavatory is weird arranged, you can’t even fill in the water heater because the height is so low, I have never seen such a weird arrangement. However most people don’t come for a perfect room here as there is so much to see and discover in Amsterdam. Therefor the hotel serves its purpose. We would likely stay there again but then in a bigger room so we have a little more space. The price is really reasonable compared to other hotels which are in central Amsterdam and can be easily 200 euros+ a night, but of course you also need to take time to wait and drive with the ferry to the city, but as you may just do so twice a day for us it was perfect.

We stayed in this hotel February 2023 and booked through British Airways. We were able to leave our baggage while we explored the city as it was too early to go to our room. The location I would say is great, the ferry is so accessible and goes straight to central station where you can walk around the main attractions of Amsterdam. We had an issue with our stay being ‘paid for’ the reception staff told us we had to pay for our stay even though we booked a package stay through British airways and paid it all many weeks before we travelled. This was quite stressful and we almost felt like no one believed that we had already paid for our stay not the best start to our holiday. This issue was never resolved even when we left we were allowed to stay but we’re never reassured at all. If you booked through British airways maybe check before you travel that they have paid the hotel properly. The room was nice but quite small but adequate for 2 girls. There is a supermarket nearby which is good for baked good for breakfast before going into the city. Overall was a good base for our busy trip.
