The WestCord Art Hotel Amsterdam boasts a modern and artistic ambiance that frequently garners praise, with guests often noting the spotlessly clean and comfortably appointed rooms. While the location is popular for its easy bus access to central Amsterdam and nearby parks and shops, some travelers have concerns about noise and the additional costs for breakfast and taxes, which they feel detract from the hotel's overall value. Despite these issues, many guests commend the friendly staff and the hotel's environmental consciousness.

The westcord art hotel is a very nice hotel, Amsterdam centre is literally a 10 minute bus ride if that, the staff are very friendly and accommodating as after my first night we noticed the air conditioning unit was making a rather noisy fan noise even though it wasn't actually on we told reception of this issue and after a brief conversation we were moved to a different room the beds are very comfortable and the pillows are the best your head just sinks into them I would highly recommend staying here as its a very nice hotel very clean, and friendly staff and it's just the right distance away from the centre just a short bus ride so there are no noisy nights after a long days of sight seeing.

Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat here.

Number 22 bus stops right outside the hotel so no long walks.

We have just spent 3 days staying at the this wonderful hotel, the Room was spacious clean and had those extra touches that made our stay extra special.
The food was fresh and their is a variety so something to suit everyone.
I found the staff friendly and exceptionally helpful in guiding us in the right direction to make our stay fun and the best places to explore.
Bus route into the city directly outside the hotel and a short 10 minute bus ride, quiet location and we felt safe and secure at all times.
I will be back in the near future

Thank you for making our stay one to remember

Stayed in WestCord Art Hotel, 15 minutes by bus in to main area of Amsterdam, bus stop outside hotel, the number 22, it operates every 10 minutes. Hotel was very clean, staff were very helpful and courteous and nothing was a problem to them. Breakfast was very good, wide range of food for all. Would definitely recommend hotel who are staying for a couple of nights stay.

We stayed here for a week, before we booked we called ahead and asked how the pool worked and could we get to swim and the hotel informed us that swimming wasn't a problem. That was lies, the pool isn't owned by the hotel and you have to book in. There is no recreation swimming available for couples so unless you have children then you cannot use the pool. We also noticed we weren't the only ones to have been mis-sold about the pool as over our stay we seen a lot of disappointed people complaining to reception about this. We where very disappointed because the only reason we booked the hotel was because of the pool. While the rooms where nice and the cleanliness wasn't bad the fact that they lied about the pool really annoyed us because there where lots of nicer cheaper hotels located closer to the centre of Amsterdam we would have booked instead. Staff at reception where usless, I would Google anything you need to know about the area as the girls on the desk aren't very helpful and don't seem to know very much, anytime you ask them for something they start clicking on the computer while you stand there in a long akward silence waiting for them to give you their Google response or whatever they are pretending to do on the computer each time. Like I said it's not a bad hotel but I'm not very happy with it because the not only lie on their description on all booking site about the pool but they also lie about it when you call up and ask them. I will be back in Amsterdam but just not to this hotel.

Our sincere apologies that you had this experience with us! Regret to hear. Despite all the online information, I'm sorry you are miss informed. Terms and conditions around COVID are changing so quick and last minute we did our best to inform our guests to our best intentions. The pool is partly ours and we bought tickets for our guests so they were able to enter. Unfortunately due to COVID there were restrictions. About our staff I'm shocked to read as most of the reviews sound positive on our team members. Warm regards, Franny Stroeken General Manager

We arrived early in the morning and expected to have to wait for the room but check in) service extremely slow. Returned in the afternoon yet again to a very long wait to get a key. Given a room at the end of the corridor on the 6th floor. Lifts very small. Upon first inspection of the room, a bright orange hair scrunchy from previous guests found on the floor next to the bed suggested that the room had not been properly cleaned. However upon further inspection I found no other issues with cleaning. Bed very comfortable and room suitably equiped with mini bar and some UK TV channels eg BBC1 and BBC2. Be aware that the shower seems to be via a hot water tank. My partner had a shower and I had to wait until the following day as no hot water. Be aware if you put a do not disturb sign on your door. Cleaning staff ignored it and tried to walk in regardless. The hotel unfortunately loses one star on my rating as we hired a bike Friday Evening and all day Saturday and despite the hotel website stating that guests received a 50% discount on bike hire, the receptionist insisted on charging us full price of 12.50 which was disappointing considering the hotel website states the contrary

Stayed here for 3 nights and I can’t fault the hotel. Very clean, staff were super helpful with information and location was good. The receptionist sorted a bus card for the bus 22 for 4 days costing 25 euros and only took us 7-10 mins to get to the centre of Amsterdam.
I would recommend this hotel to couples/ families.
There was even a swimming pool which we didn’t use but looked good.
We can’t comment on food as we ate out everyday.

I spent the weekend in Amsterdam on a trip with my mum. The hotel is near the busstop, from where the bus will take you to the Central Station in only 10 minutes. We also took a walk to the Houthavens, which is a pretty cool industrial area nearby.

Dinner at the hotel was delicious! I loved the mushroom risotto and the Chef's dessert :). Breakfast too had a good variety, the fluffy pancakes and croissants were my favorite.

We stayed in one of the junior suites on the 2nd floor, don't expect amazing views in this part of Amsterdam. The room itself however was very clean and it was handy to have the toilet and the bathroom seperated. The beds/pillows are comfortable and it was great to have plenty of mirrors to get ready in the morning.

Check-in and check-out were fast and hassle free by the friendly staff. If you're looking for a hotel in a quiet part of Amsterdam I would definetely recommend staying here.

Clean, well presented hotel. Room was spotless but we did have issues on the first night where the air conditioning was broken, the room was exceptionally hot and stuffy. Staff all friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a wide variety but the cooked breakfast was lukewarm at best. We went at 9.30am would recommend going earlier. The one main issue with this hotel is its location. We booked believing it was 15 minutes from the city centre to walk, it is actually more like 40-45 minutes. It takes 20 minutes to walk into Westerpark and then a further walk into the centre. There are 2 buses you can get - 22 and 48 which run frequently but only until about Midnight. If we had known where this was located we probably wouldn’t have booked as it did mean we couldn’t use the hotel as a regular touch point. Nice stay overall though.

Stayed here for my husband's birthday as part of an easyJet package. Really nice, helpful and attentive staff. It was easy to check in and, although we were early, they accommodated us and put us into a room which was ready so that we could go and unpack. The rooms were very lovely and clean, had a good range of amenities available and the shower was lush. Bed was very comfy - my only gripe was that the pillows were so soft they gave me a neck ache.

The hotel were also amazing in that, we had booked an in-hotel massage with an external company (Cocon) but the massage bed wouldn't fit into our original room. The company liaised with the hotel and the hotel changed our room into a junior suite free of charge for the whole duration of our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They didn't have to do that at all and we really appreciated it!!

We got room service and I think the food is a bit pricey for what it is/ the quality of it. It was €50 for nachos, a sharing starter and 2 drinks but it filled a hole.

This hotel is around a 30 - 35 minute walk from the centre or you can get a bus, which is literally nearly outside the hotel or you can get an Uber but they're expensive. We walked to get our steps in :)

Overall, a nice stay!

I like staying here. I have a bike and I’m regularly in Amsterdam so it’s very reasonable price and the bike opens the city to me. Takes about 8minutes to cycle to Spuistraat. Bus right outside the door takes about 10minites to central station. Rooms are good. Haven’t had breakfast. Dinner not great

I am a bit confused by your term "takeaway supermarkets". All grocery stores are takeaway, or are you meaning to ask about restaurants? Don't know about grocers in the immediate area, a search on Google maps will be helpful. As far as nearby restaurants, we didn't do "take-out", always ate in at the establishment. However, I would expect most restaurants can package up your order for take-out.

we generally walked into the downtown area. If you go to google maps, you will be able to get the distance from the hotel to any specific location you are interested in visiting.
