I stayed here with my partner for 4 nights. I have stayed in other hotels in Amsterdam before and hotel Ben was about average with regards to size of room, decor etc However, i would choose to stay here again as it is right in the middle of all the action or a very short walk to other places. Also,...

We stayed at Hotel Ben on May 29th and our stay was only (sadly!) one night. First of all, the hotel is extremely convenient to get to via Central Station which was extremely helpful after a few extremely long days of international travel. We had arrived very early that morning, and we were delighted that they would hold our luggage...

We went to Amsterdam last weekend and stayed in Hotel Ben. As couple of posts below me I was a bit worried about the state of it as everyone was saying that it is not worth staying in there!! Couldn't be more wrong! First - location - absolutely fabulous! Located 5 minute walk from the Centraal station and as it...

Exactly what is says on the Tin!! Five of us stayed here for 3 nights, we wanted something easy and with no hassle. This is what Hotel Ben delivered. It's so super close to the station and within walking distance to all amenities. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

My friends and I decided to go to Amsterdam as a late birthday present for my husband who turned 30 in January. There were eight of us in total, four boys and four girls. We left everything so last minute that when we booked the hotel and tickets as a package we didn’t even bother reading up about the hotel...

If you consider this hotel, I would strongly recommend that you write a list of everything that you brought with you/shopped during the trip! I stayed there with a couple of girlfriends, and the last night I noticed that one of my bags was missing. I searched the room, with no luck, and then went to the reception to ask...

Easy to find. Rooms were ready when we arrived. Nice big room. Gave us free wifi passes when we got there. The staff were very helpful & friendly. Would use again & highly recommended. Only downside would be only one electrical socket in the room.

I stayed in the Hotel Ben with my sister , and while we had a great few days , the hotel could have spoiled it totally., The staff were very nice , the beds while hard as bricks seemed clean , the bathroom was clean and functional , but the carpet looked like a real health hazard , the décor...

The guy who sat behind the reception and who seemed to be the owner (same guy who is in the photos - dark hair) made us pay for 5 nights upfront - seemed dishonest already, assured us that the hotel is quiet and clean. After a climb to the top floor with heavy suitcases we discovered how nasty, dirty and...

The Hotel Ben is a must for those on a budget looking for city centre accomodation. 5 Mins from Central Station makes this the ideal base to explore the delights of Amsterdaqm ... as long as you are not fussy. Points to note: 1) I had a room at the top - I didn't count all the steps but once...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
