Arrived late the night the Netherlands lost to Spain in the world cup ( review would only let me go back as far as august) to a sea off orange people trying to leave Amsterdam. Spent a couple of hours trying to get a taxi but ended up walking most of the way and didn't arrive at hotel until 3am...

The hotel's fit out is roughly what you'd expect for the price - though everything was clean and well cared for. i stayed in a room on the first floor, facing the main road in front of the hotel; the noise from the traffic was unbearable, and when it calmed down, the people in the room next door switched on...

This was the first time my boyfriend and i had been to Amsterdam together, and this hotel was excellent. The breakfast was a little basic, but no more so than any other european breakfast anywhere else! The room was immaculate, room 106, bathroom very equiped and modern, very cool and comfortable, rooms made up daily, plenty of space for a...

We stayed in this hotel in May and although we found it pleasant enough and in a good location, we took back home with us some unexpected visitors; namely, bedbugs. Our holiday has cost me an extra £150 to get rid of the bedbugs from room 407 that have travelled back with us and I have spent a week of...

This hotel is generally OK. The room was tidy enough, clean and the bathroom looked recently refitted. The Wi-FI didn't work but you can actually pick up on an unsecure connection from elsewhere. Good value for money and a good location. I was happy there on my own, but if I was to take my girlfriend I would like somewhere...

After reading the several reviews I convinced myself this was the right place to be! What a big mistake! We were given room 407 on the fouth floor! A part from the lift which is very slow and "scary" as soon as we went into the room I had a very bad feeling! Small, dusty and dirty; I thought that...

We'd never been to Amsterdam before and after doing a lot of googling I decided on this hotel as it seemed to be within easy reach of everywhere we wanted to visit and good value for half term week. The first great thing I would say is that we expected to be getting trams everywhere but in fact we never...

We decided to go for a couple days in Amsterdam in the beginning of February, and looking for a hotel we found this good quality hotel for a very reasonable price. The hotel was in a nice area, about a 15 minute walk to both city centre (Rembrandt Square, Dam Square), 20 minutes walk to the Red Light District and...

Seasons Hotel is a brilliant bargain for a long weekend away. Location: Slightly out of the city centre to the South East, this hotel is roughly a 20 minute walk into town with plenty of nice restaurants etc on the way in. Taxi wise it's about 10euro from the station. Quiet, clean area in walking distance of all the major...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
