We booked a double for two nights at Xmas. You pay for a room that based on the photos should be a decent sized, bright room with a double bed. Then you get a twin room in the basement, which is more like a dark cell in a dungeon not a room in a 3 star hotel. We asked if...

Pretty nice hotel located just 4-5 stops by tram to the Dam and the closest tram station is just 2 min far. The room is small but perfect for two people and specially because you only will go to sleep there. Very clean and the staff is friendly. The breakfast is good with fruits, eggs, ham, bread, cereal, etc. and...

Good location near the canals and convenient for trams. A decent, clean, quiet room for an inexpensive hotel; comfortable bed, and good reading lights a welcome detail. Pleasant and helpful reception staff. Shower pressure and temperature were variable, and breakfast was pretty average, but good value overall.

The ibis provided great value for money. Within walking distance to great restaurants, about a 6 min tram ride to Anne Frank's house, canal cruises nearby, Heineken experience a 6 min walk away and many shops to visit. The breakfast was delicious and wholesome . Staff were very helpful and friendly . The tram was close and remember to tap...

IBIS are known to be budget hotels so I was surprised when I saw the room. It was tastefully decorated and modern. A TV with european channels, nice clean towels etc. The entrance lobby is a bit basic but considering that the hotel is housed in old building converted to a hotel it was ok. The breakfast was adequate and...

I debated between this hotel and the ibis Amsterdam Centre location at the main train station. This one was significantly cheaper and in retrospect, well worth the #4 Tram ride for 10 minutes from Dam Square. Hotel staff are helpful and friendly allowing us to store luggage before check-in time on the day of arrival and letting us do the...

Hotel has good location , nice clean bed and good breakfast. Really value for money. The only thing during our stay is the voices around. As they assign our room right next to reception and the lift, can hear what people are saying at reception and people passing by for lift. Would have been perfect if the room is sound...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
