Stayed here for one night in order to extend our holiday. Had everything we needed. Everything worked in our room. Was reasonably well kept up and had a roof window which opened and kept the room ventilated. Bathroom separate to room, but not too far away. Sink in room worked fine. Large room with seats.

I spent two nights in budget hotel Thorbecke with a group of friends and I was a little worried on what to expect from reading previous reviews. However, the hotel was fine and we didn't have any problems. Check in was supposedly at 2.00 pm but we were allowed to check in at 11.00 am which was beneficial. Hotel staff...

After reading previous reviews i was very reluctant to stay at this hotel but as my accommodation fell through at the last minute i had no choice but to book. I was expecting the worst but the hotel is actually fine. Room was clean, bathroom was clean. Hotel was secure. Location is ideal. I don't see how the bad reviews...

This "hotel" is in the worst hygienic conditions. We came in and were surprised by the unpleasant smell in the hallway(s). The next shock wouldn't keep us waiting too long as we stepped into our room which had the dirtiest walls I've ever seen not only in a hotel (from cracks to dead mosquitos still everywhere on walls and ceiling)....

This place is well located. However, the hotel is horrible. The room was small, dingy, no bedside locker, shared toilet and shared shower. The toilet and shower were clean. That's the best I can say about this place. I would not eat the food in the place for breakfast, and would never stay there again. Our room stank of mold...

The location was great. Very close to the tram stop and lots of restaurants. Other than that the hotel room was very small and not very clean. Granted this is a very old building, it has not been taken care of. The TV in the room didn't work at all, the light on the ceiling was about to fall off....

The only good thing I can say about it it's the location. The hotel itself it's horrible.I nearly lost my shoes when I was walking ,the floor was that sticky.Shower it's disgusting, stinks and I would not dare going in there bare foot.Holes in the towels .Don't know about other rooms but we stayed at top floor and to get there...

The hotel is located in the centre of Amsterdam, it is possible to reach every part of the city in few minutes by foot. Furthermore the room was very clean as well as the bathroom. Be careful "climbing" the stairs :) Recommended!

Booked this hotel for a one night stay, recognising it was budget and would be basic. Returned to our room after a great night out to find RATS on the bed!! Absolutely disgusting! Duty manager was useless, offered to 'shoo them away' and that was about it. Left the hotel immediately and ended up sleeping on a bench at the...
