I booked this hotel for my sons birthday, and the staff couldn’t have done enough for me I asked for a balloon , as some sort of decoration to mark the day , and also ordered a small cake to be delivered however when my son arrived the room had balloons and buntings everywhere .The staff had made a great effort on my behalf , and the cake was delivered from a beautiful cheesecake shop close by . I paid for the cake prior to the visit however the decorations were all the kind work of the Dwars Hotel’s staff . This hotel doesn’t have breakfast facilities but they will direct their visitors to the hidden gems in Amsterdam for great food away from the tourist areas A big thank you to all, and for the prompt replies to my messages Thanks Mags
My mum and I visited the Hotel Dwars for mum's 50th birthday and we had an absolutely fantastic stay. The staff were friendly and helpful from the off; sending directions and offering assistance if necessary. When we arrived the staff had decorated the room for mum's birthday with balloons, banners, confetti and a lovely big bar of chocolate. All staff members were lovely and the location was perfect; close to a tram line but far enough from the city centre for it to be peaceful. The room was clean and had everything you could require. The beds were comfortable and the shower was big and roomy. I would recommend the Hotel Dwars to anybody :)
It was a really cosy and fun place to stay the staff especially Theresa I think was her name she helped me a lot and had lots of great recommendations about the city, without her I wouldn't have had the nice experience I had, the actual place is super tidy and beautifully decorated. The location is great and very central and close by many points of interest but still two steps away from the tourists traps. Cheers guys!
Hotel Dwars was absolutely fantastic! We came for our honeymoon and were greeted by the sweetest decorations and balloons! The hotel was very cute and boutique feeling. Perfect location - very close to everything in the city center and a tram stop just outside. So many shops and restaurants nearby, as well as quaint canal streets for strolling. We loved Amsterdam, and the whole team at Dwars made sure we had a great time while exploring the city. Even carried our heavy luggage upstairs for us after a long day of travel which was SO appreciated! They were easy to communicate with via email or text, and provided us with great recommendations around the city. The room was a little on the small side, but was designed in such a way there was plenty of space for two people. Loads of storage and ample hanging space. They were doing some light repair work on the stairs while we were there, but even the construction workers were super friendly and unobtrusive. It is important to note there is no elevator here, and the stairs are traditional Dutch style narrow stairs. No restaurant onsite like you'd find at a typical hotel, but so many amazing restaurants around within a short walk that we saw this as a positive to try more local cuisine. The only thing we didn't like was having to say goodbye!…
Quite a small space - it would be tight for two people with luggage unless sleep is all you wanted; good for a single traveller. Not good for a business traveller given there's no real space to work. Amenities are solid, good bed, shower and air conditioning (warm/cold). Need to make sure you don't arrive early or late as there's limited check-in hours. Friendly hosts, feels like a B&B without the breakfast, but that's no problem as you've got plenty of options near by. Lastly, those tiny little IKEA ironing boards need to be replaced as they are useless.
