This cute little hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam, situated on a beautiful canal. The location is perfect for tourists and within easy walking distance of all the main attractions. Our room had two lovely windows with canal views. The room was clean, the breakfast delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. Being so central the rooms are...

This is a tiny little hotel on a busy Amsterdam street. Within a brief walk of the hotel, you'll find great examples of all Amsterdam has to offer - sights and museums, red light district, multiple street markets, canals and river views, etc. The service was warm and personal from the moment we arrived. My husband had caught a cold...

This hotel was fantastic for us. Right in the centre of the old city and an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to visit (as it was our first time in Amsterdam we didn't quite feel confident enough to take on the A'dam cyclists!) The hotel is small - only 6 rooms - but the rooms themselves are not small....

Very nice hotel in a great location. It is a very easy walk from the train station. You can take the train from the airport to Amsterdam Central then walk from there. Many site seeing locations near by. I have been to Amsterdam a lot and this is my favorite hotel. You will have a great time!

Amazing place! Amazing hosts/owners! Amazing location! I highly recommend this boutique hotel/B &B for a stay in Amsterdam! We arrived at Central Station and, with directions provided by the owners, were easily able to walk to the hotel. We opted for a canal view...and very glad we did. Even though the street sounds were there, you can easily shut the...

We enjoyed four nights in a canal view room. They deserve all of the excellent reviews that are posted. There are only 6 rooms, so book early. The location is perfect for exploring everything central Amsterdam has to offer. We arrived from the airport and followed the directions sent to us by Rachael and had no problem using public transportation...

Despite the room being at the back of the building we still had a view. The breakfast is the best in town. The owners super helpful and...

Super close to the metro stop and many tourist restaurants. Not our favorite Amsterdam neighborhood, but still a good choice. Somewhat clean, kind of small, and steep stairs. You get what you pay for. It is close to central Amsterdam, red light district, and the train station. It's a very urban/dense neighborhood. The owners will give you plenty of advice...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.

“If you're an urban dweller, the canal-facing rooms won't seem too loud. As a New Yorker, I had no need of the white noise machine that was thoughtfully provided. The owners seem to think the quieter garden-view rooms in the rear are better, though, so if silence is important to you, try those. Be aware that there's no elevator and the steps are typically (for Amsterdam) steep and winding.”
