Great location. Actually, we reckon the perfect location. Right next to the vondelpark and lots of nice places to eat, away from the overbearing and touristy centre, although an easy walk or cycle in to the centre. Rooms are spacious and quiet, although lighting isn't great and we would agree with other reviews, the carpets could do with being replaced...

Our daughters treated us to a long weekend break in Amsterdam, a gift for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. This was our first visit to Amsterdam. We kindly received an upgrade in to a top floor room, with lovely views over the canal and city. The complimentary wine was also a very nice gesture from the Duty Manager. We could not...

Rooms Old but a lot of space. Public area needs renovation and touch up. Pay more attention to smell inside hotel not very good ventilation. Great location. Kind staff. Check put a bit slow but over all very nice stay especially for a city break.

With friendly and helpful staff and a central location on a canal near all the museums this was a great choice. I dropped one star becaus workmen were working in diggers and a crane outside the hotel from early morning but this was not the fault of the hotel and they appeared to be moving Way elsewhere when we left.

The NH Museum Quarter Hotel is in a good location that is easily walk-able to restaurants and shops. The rooms were average, but clean. Several rooms on the front of the building have a great view of the cancel and city.

The hotel is very close to the Rijkmuseum as well as Van Gogh's museum and the room was spacious and quiet. Excellent staff to assist you at he front desk. The only thing was, if you want to eat out, you have to walk several minutes to find anything but there is a flea market you could also walk to...

Very nice modern hotel with nice big rooms and good restaurant area and nice and quiet being out of the centre. Near to the Van Gogh museum and the Heineken experience but about 25 mins walk to centre. But did not bother me. Area also has some nice restaurants and bars that are not too touristy. Friendly helpful staff. Faces...

Location is this hotel's biggest asset. It is a short walk to several excellent museums. You can also cross the canal and walk to the centre of the old town. The facilities were certainly adequate, if not outstanding. I didn't try the restaurant because there are so many interesting cafes so close by. It made a great base from which...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
